Temptalia Asks You - How long do you spend doing your makeup?
How long do you spend doing your makeup? How long does it take you to put on a “full face” of makeup, from start to finish?
It takes me anywhere from fifteen minutes to a half hour, probably, to do everything from face to eyes. If I’m doing a natural look, then I can usually have it done in less than fifteen minutes!
lol, less than five minutes? i’ve been too busy lately so there’s unfortunately been no time for complicated beauty. 🙁
Same here, Karen! But in general, say you had a reasonable amount of time to get ready, how long would you spend?
For me, it’s NO MORE than 30 min.
Nice!
the more colors i use on my eyes, the longer it takes LOL. Usually between 15 and 45 minutes (45 only if i am really going all out for a night out, but 15 when i’m doing simple looks for work and such)
I agree, Courtney. If I’m doing a super simple look, it might not take long at all.
It takes me forrrrrever. It seems like it takes at least 30 minutes.
Aww, 30 minutes isn’t that long at all!
When I take my time it can take 30 minutes to an hour. I really enjoy doing it so it’s not like i’m suffering while doing it 🙂
Got it, Traci 🙂 Sometimes it’s really fun to spend an hour perfecting your makeup.
On workdays = 25 minutes
On weekends or if I’m experimenting with eyeshadows I could stand in front of that mirror and work on my face for 45 minutes!
I’m glad you get some time to experiment, Kate 😀
Typically from nothing to walking out the door…40 min. I don’t think I’m a typical case though since my skin is “unique.” -_-
You’d be surprised – that’s not a bad time total, a lot of women take about the same!
For a normal day time look I usually take 10-15 minutes.
For a night out I’ll usually do quite heavy eye make up and if I’m playing around with it it can take about 45 minutes or an hour
Wow, that’s quick! If I really want to play around,I take about 45 minutes, too.
I usually spend no more than 15 min, but I don’t wear foundation (just MSF Natural) and usually don’t do eyeliner if I am just going to school.
Nice job, Courtney!
10 min if going to work, 30 if not.
Not bad at all, Cristine!
About 15-30 minutes, depending on how complicated I get with the face, bronzer, blush, contouring etc.
But like Kate says, if I’m experimenting, maybe 45 minutes, or more!
Great time, Carrie! I’m usually around 15-30 myself.
45 tops. I always measure the time between going out and primping and prepping…LOL I have to or else my fiance gets wayyyyyyyy too impatient…
Nicely done! My boyfriend is pretty patient, thankfully!
Haha lucky…that’s his worst quality he is SO IMPATIENT!!!
I’m a minimalist so it usually only takes me about 10-15 mins. I really only play around with my face on the weekends when I have more time 🙂 Any one have some tricks to save time while getting ready in the AM?
I try to multi-task in the morning. I combine moisturizer w/ foundation and put on concealer/eyeshadow/mascara while waiting for the curling iron to heat up. I have also tried picking out what I’m going to wear (on my face!) the night before so I’m not wasting time fishing around for the perfect eyeshadow combos.
Pick out your makeup in advance saves a lot of time! I think that’s my biggest time saving tip I can give you.
I try to alot at least an hour for my make-up application just because I like to enjoy and take my time with it…and this window of time permits me to be a little bit of a perfectionist with my make-up. But now with a month-old son, it would be a blessing if I could even alot 10-20 mins for make-up! sigh.
It’s so nice when you can have the time to do your makeup and not feel rushed by any chance.
Congrats on the son, Janis!! 🙂
I can relate Janis! I have a newborn AND a 20-month old! Any time for makeup is wonderful 🙂
10-15 min for school
30-45 for going out
Good work, Lina! You’re so on par 😉
Gosh I must be a serious outlier! I take maybe 5 minutes tops in the morning. But I live for the no makeup natural look. I just do tinted moisturizer, a dab of concealer and a swipe of blush!
Oh, you’re a lucky one, Julie 😉
hmmm…reasonable amount would prolly be 15-20 minutes to look polished. honestly, if i had all the time in the world it would be about an hour. but that’s just cause i do things in between, like eat, check email, bug the boy…
Hey, 15-20 minutes, that’s great. I get easily distracted myself.
I can easily spend 30 minutes to an hour doing my makeup for an all out look. For a simple “ready face”, I aim for 15 minutes tops.
That’s a good timeframe, Mrs. Lynne! I’m about the same 🙂
