How do you organize all of your beauty stash? Where do you house it all? Do you have a system?

*edit* Two questions were posted today (oops!), but it appears both got quite a few answers so they’ll stand back-to-back!  Call it extra entertainment for your Sunday 🙂

I stash mine in beauty bags (one for brushes, one for makeup I use everyday, and one for lippies and misc eyeshadows), a box for MAC eyeshadows and MSF, then a drawer for my eyeshadows/blush palette. I probably should get a traincase to stash it all, but if I’m afraid someone could pick it up and all of my makeup would go missing.

I *hope* this works. Sorry its just my cell phone pics. For Christmas I got these huge 5 shelf bookcases, and have a couple reserved for my beauty items. Still trying to organize and I continue to search stores for different “holders” as on the third shelf that holds my perfumes and moisturizers (pretty much liquids) I used the box part of the Victoria’s Secret gift sets.

And on this second picture, you see my Sephora/Enkore inspired brush holder (<3!) and I use pencil cups to hold my UDPP, pencils, etc and one for my samples (as I only have 8 little jars at the moment. And I use the lids from the Curiositease pigments to hold my lipglosses and lipsticks!

Yes I do. My desk is to the left of the bookshelf with the makeup, so its an easy roll over on your chair or walk two steps and grab, but them on the desk countertop and apply with my mirror. I have a keyboard tray which helps so my desk can be (usually) clean to apply the stuff. I LOVE the little plastic drawers, they make it more organized and since I outgrew my traincase. This to me also looks more visually appealing than me hiding my stuff in a traincase.

I just have to figure out how I want to mark my palettes so I don’t have to open them to find a certain shade. I don’t want to write on the palette with a marker, but I was thinking of trying to find some kind of removable sticker that is coloured? I don’t know yet though.

I store most of my make up in clear plastic boxes, which are kept in a cupboard. Makeup brushes are kept in a tumbler separately on a dresser and lip products I don’t use very often are stored in the refrigerator (because they last a VERY long time that way).

Products are stacked according to shades, irrespective of brand – ie. peach blushes, gold eyeshadows – so that I don’t have to spend time looking for an individual product.

I just use the plastic drawers but they are well past overflowing so my mission is to organize and store it properly before the end of Jan. All of my brushes are in one glass, and all my eyeliners, mascara etc in another… I can’t wait to organize it all into shades! It will make life so much easier!

I use empty Patchi chocolate boxes! The boxes are all fully lined and looked so pretty that I didn’t want to throw them away so instead I use them to store makeup. They also colour co-ordinated which makes it easier to find what I need. For example all my dark/evening wear eyeshadows are in one box, all the daytime/lighter colours in another. The best thing about these is they don’t take up much space and they still look pretty. Its also a good reason to eat Patchi choclate 😉 the boxs can be reused!

Brushes are all stored in jewled pencil holders. Skincare in a small wicker basket. Nail polishes along the lines of my bookshelf.

I also have an on the go makeup bag. It’s pretty small but has duplicate versions of the makeup I love the most. Any gloss or lipstick I use gets added in the mornings.

Oh and I

I bought this large train case online for an awesome price and it has so much room. I love it! I was tired of digging through two big pouches for my makeup. Even though I dont have half as much as you all. I’m jealous 🙂 Train cases are just so much easier and organized for me.

i put everything in my new mac traincase, i love it sooo much. i still don’t have much but i am looking forward to the new collections and le stuff. yipee!!! i don’t feel in a rush to fill them with non le cause they’re always be there.

This is my biggest prob right now actually. I just don’t know how to store all my make-up! I have a traincase but it doesn’t even store half my make-up. I’d love to have something custom-built in my closet–a space where I can store my pigments, brushes and other peripherals.

I also use plastic drawers. Like those three-drawer plastic mini-cabinets. I originally had one for college, but it’s stayed with me past then. Also, I have a couple small zip bags to hold everything. Sadly, most of it is just spread outttt on my counter. But for anybody who need an on-the-go bag, I highly recommend LL Bean’s bathroom organizers. They hold way more than you can imagine in there, and they come with a metal hook to hang it with!

I MISS CABOODLES! WHERE DID ALL OF MINE GO?
These are the thoughts running through my head as I consider buying a train case…
Currently I have 4 MAC beauty bags which I carry in a larger plastic sack. Quite inconvenient, but such is the nature of the beast, eh?

Christine Avatar

lol, Erin! I think a train case is excellent for traveling, but I personally don’t LOVE it for storing my collection, only because it doesn’t *fit* at all into a single train case anymore. I’d need a gigantic one, and well, I know they make some, but I’m not sure if even that would house it all.

right now my entire bedroom dresser is monopolized by my makeup case (1/2 of the dresser, just a Caboodles box with overflow), and bottle of perfume, lotion and such. it’s a mess. i need a better system!
