I can’t live without primer, especially MUFE HD primers!! I have been using Green one, even though I was matched with the blue one. I got the blue one for Xmas present and WOW.. it brighten up my face, reduces pore size and contols shine all day!
just wondering what the blue and green ones are for?
when i went to the MUFE counter at sephora to look at the hd primer and foundation, the salesperson just recommended i use either the normal, illuminating (yellow), or bronzing one. i was kind of hoping for more info on how the other two are used, but i think there was a bit of a language barrier!
You can match your HD primer on the MUFE website. I have a bit of red discolorations, so I bought the green one. However, I was matched with the blue one, which helps to cover redness on fair Asian skin. Well, the green one did nothing for me, but the blue made a huge difference, so obviously MUFE knows what they are talking about!
umm What is MUFE??
got it, Makeup Forever…
I definitely agree that it helps! It fills in all those little imperfections and texture problems and provides a nice smooth canvas. I’m using All Mat by MakeupForever. Its wonderful because it helps to keep your skin nice and matte all day. Feels cool on the skin when you apply it but the texture is the same dimethicone base as Smashbox.
i agree!!..i love this primer..i was using the smashbox one (the reg one) and then tried the mac primer (the one w/out spf-they gave me the wrong one) and then tried the smashbox primer that controlled oil (didn’t like the lotion texture)..then read about the all mat by MUFE..and i love how its great for controlling shininess and the texture 🙂
I’ve never actually tried one before. I just use pressed powder on my face, nothing else.
I’ll let you know by thursday. I just bought some, but I haven’t actually tried it yet. If it manages to visibly reduce my pores then it’ll be completely worth it.
I can’t live without a primer. It makes foundation stay sooooo much longer, and helps with the size of pores a lot too. I used Aubrey Nicole primer, but it burned my skin a little. Now I’m a fan of Monistat, even though I have to get it from ebay, and it’s the best !
I don’t right now but I plan to buy the HD primer from MUFE in neutral color. I have dry skin and I think primers might help. I would’ve preferred LM hydrating primer, but that’s quite costly.
Although it smooths things out a bit, I don’t use it regularly because it feels too heavy combined with foundation. I’ll use it for a special night out, but that’s about it.
i think its needed for me simply because it keeps my t-zone from getting too oily throughout the day. in the winter months, it’s not absolutly necessary but i like it’s smoothing properties.
I don’t know – I can never look past the heavy feeling to pay attention to whether it looks different. I only use a light coverage powder foundation anyways, so maybe I’d care more if I used liquid foundation.
yes
i use it all the time and i can tell a difference
i use mufe hd primer, in the purple one, (mauve)
n i like it cuz it makes my skin lighter in colour n brighter
no. i’ve never used primer before and my make up has never given me problems before.
Primers are definately must for me. it provides a smooth base to layer on products…you notice a difference when you start using one.
i have tried smashbox and monistat chaffing gel(both in current use).To be honest the chaffing gel is beter than smashbox. M waiting for another FF sale to buy MUFE primer.
Most primers break my skin out, but I started using Dr. Brandt’s Pores No More this summer, and LOVE it! I wear it under my foundation, and some days with just powder over it A little goes a long ways, so the tube lasts a long time. It’s wonderful stuff!
whereas i don’t think that a ‘primer’ is absolutely necessary, i think that prepping the skin adequately does make a difference..rather than just applying makeup on bare skin…
If you want the best application, then yes.
I think that for my over 40 skin it’s definitely a requirement. My MUFE Matte goes on smoothly and I actually use less foundation when I use my primer.
I really am intersted in primers, but had no clue which one to try! I just purchased the MUFE HD foundation last week (which is FAB), but I was on the fence about the primer. I think I”m going to break down and purchase it this weekend though.
yes I def need it. My skin is sorta dry and I have a lot of pink and red undertones so applying primer really helps with evening out my skin
My make-up stays shine-free much longer with the primer on.
I don’t think it’s necessary (not for me anyway), but can make a difference. I don’t even use foundation all the time (if I do it’s usually mousse or mineral anyway), so I don’t feel like I need to apply a ton of products normally to look okay.
Um……. can somebody explain this monistat as primer thing to me it sounds sorta weird……….
A lot of facial primers such as smashbox photo finish are made with a key ingredient called dimethicone which is the same key ingredient found in the monistat anti-chafing gel. Dimethicone is an organic silicone that is used as a skin-conditioning agent. Hope this helps.
I use a Quo primer. I don’t find it necessary for every day use.. I guess I’m lucky to have smooth skin, etc. & I prepare my skin for my make up (as everyone should), toner, moisturizer, so I find my make up goes on nicely anyways. BUT, when I’m going out, or planning to wear my make up for an extended period of time, I do apply it. To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.. but it does make your make up look very smooth.
My foundation separates really badly in the summer without a primer, so I never go without.
not usually, but if i’m going out/need to have my skin looking really good then i will wear one
I found that with my skin the only things i really need is concealer for my dark circles (maybe be a wheat problem for some people) and a light tinted moisturer. I have noticed the light tinted moisturer is suffient to get rid of the red in my apples and even out the skin colour.
I think its a good idea for people who have big pores, oily skin, uneven skin tone, lil red patches. I think ive read some even help blur out fine lines. I have only used M.A.C prep and prime and was pretty happy with it. I want to give a couple other brands a try now that I ran out. I don’t like the feeling of foundation on my skin so I don’t know how it works or feels when you use it w foundation. I use it with M.A.C MSFN and concealer and it don’t feel heavy at all.
I’m sure it’s necessary for others. But, I don’t use one.
This is something new for me. I am experimenting. 🙂
I just ran out of primer 🙁
I sweat off foundation like no other, off to the beauty store I go..
Yes. For me.. I have to use the MUFE HD green primer. Sometimes I mix a bit of BE primetime with the green to really smooth out my skin. My skin throws so much red that it really benefits from the green.
I use a small amount of MACs Matte gel on my t-zone before each application. It helps smooth out the problem areas and it keeps me from getting disgustingly oily.
I only use a primer when I’m doing my FULL makeup (like medium/full coverage foundation, powder, blush, etc…). It definately helps make my makeup last longer and smoothes any fine lines & pores that I may have. I don’t use it everyday w/ light makeup for work.
