lol! I have about a bag’s worth of boxes, but they’re going to be on their way out soon, I think.
I do keep those boxes too especially if the products are limited edition. I guess I like them better in the boxes, protect the product too!

I keep the boxes! Usually they’re as pretty as the product itself. When we moved houses I still could not bear to throw those year old boxes away – So now they have a prominent place in my wardrobe!

Oh heck no! I can’t bear to keep boxes.. well, unless they are large and can be reused for something else. However I do regret recycling packaging that just looks gorgeous, but can’t be reused around the home!!
I used to throw them out SO quick, too, but now I keep them for a few weeks at least.
I keep boxes for a few days until I decide to keep the product…then I recycle. I’m a no clutter kind of person. I wish I could bring myself to keep some of the nicer boxes…but I don’t have the space. Plus I take really good care of my makeup anyway.
Yeah that’s me. Until I’m sure I won’t take it back, I keep my boxes.

Strangely enough, I do keep the boxes, though not with the products, but in a separate “box” box. The fact, that you are asking this question makes me think I´m not the only one doing that. That´s quite a relief… 😉

keep the boxes if the products really works for me and i decide to keep it. then i throw away the boxes, unless it’s really some boxes that are nice that you can use to store things like maybe cotton ball either that or i just throw them away and recycle. i’m like shefali, i like to clear things.

I used to toss the box immediately, but lately I have been keeping the products in their boxes. They fit so nicely in my little drawer when they are all the same square shape!

Oh, I see! I guess I just don’t know where to begin in organizing them in a way that would be quick in the morning for me. *tries to imagine* lol!
I keep the boxes of products like foundation, blush and any compact, because I travel often and I find it’s much easier to carry around products in their original boxes than in any other bag. Besides, certain products should not be exposed to sunlight, and are better kept inside boxes anyway!
I throw away lipstick and eye shadow boxes immediately – unless they are exceptional and worth keeping.

That’s true! I kept my boxes for the 182 for awhile to keep them in pristine condition while traveling.
I only keep the boxes if I want to be able to refer to the product ingredients. But, Clau’s comment got me thinking that maybe a better storage system would be to keep things in the boxes in a drawer, like how they do at the MAC counter. hmm.

I only save them for a little while. Once I know I like the product and it is a keep I toss them. But I agree with Carrie I should use them for storage. (the bigger ones) : )

Well, I prefer to keep the box if I’m not sure I want to keep an item because it has the receipt sticker for Nordstrom, but I’ll usually throw it in the recycle because they’ll still trade it anyway.
True! I think it’s a good idea to keep boxes for a little while for exactly this reason.
I was keeping my boxes for a while, until the drawer I was keeping them in was overflowing and I decided to toss them all. Now I just keep the boxes for a while until I am 100% sure that I really like the product and will be keeping it.

I keep my boxes!! Sometimes, I will also keep the products in the boxes such as my NARS blush.. cuz you know how the NARS packaging gets dirty easily. But whenever I get new makeup products, i will usually keep them in their boxes for a few weeks..such as my MAC eyeshadow, Mineralize skinfinish, MAC blushes, until they start to get old and scratched. I really hate it when the plastic gets scratched but it is inevitable. People find it wierd when they see me whip out my makeup bag and inside are makeup products STILL in its packaging. They usually ask me if that was what i bought that day but I tell them I’ve had it for a while already! I thought I was the only wierd one. Its nice to see that there are other people out there with my same strange habit!

Sometimes 🙂 If it’s a new product I’m not sure of, I keep it in the event I need to take it back. If I’m sure I love it, I toss. Or, if it’s a replacement or something I already know I like, I’ll toss it too. But…If it’s crutial to the prettyness and cuteness of the product, then OF COURSE ;D

I keep the boxes for quite a while. I don’t wear makeup often, so sometimes it will take a while before I figure out a color is really not for me, or that I’m allergic to something. With the box, even if I can’t send it back, it makes it look a little nicer when I give it to someone that it might work for.

I keep the boxes if they will be of use for something other than holding the product. I usually keep my perfumes in their boxes, but throw makeup boxes away.
Perfume boxes tend to be prettier/unique, plus I tend to be scared of all those bottles clinking or breaking, haha.
What a funny question, i usually compile product boxes in a giant box under my bed. i generally only do it if i think i might want to take it back or trade it on makeup alley.
That’s a good idea. I have a big MAC bag full right now laying somewhere in my apartment for the same reasons.
Nope! I throw them all away. Products that come in a MAC box is like having christmas. I get excited and tear away at everything! I put all my makeup in a large MAC bag. I will probably graduate to the hard case once I get back from Iraq.

depends what it is.. if it’s some regular drugstore brand/permanent item then no, i throw all of those boxes away… but if it’s a limited edition box/product then i HAVE to keep it!
