Temptalia Asks You - Do you ask yourself questions before you buy something?

Do you ask yourself questions before you buy something? Do you ask, “Will I wear this often?” or “Do I have anything similar?” What do you ask yourself when you consider a product for purchase?

I think about how often I will use it, whether it will work with products I already have (undoubtedly, this is usually a yes), how many similar colors do I have, do I really need it, and do I really want to pay that much?

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Usually I go through a long list of questions before buying a product, making my shopping trips way too long.
Firstly, i consider whether or not i can afford the product and get a long haul of other things. I then question the quality of the product, and if i really want it. Then its a case of if i have that shade in particular, however if there are quite a few shades i want then that’s when im stuck in the store for ages trying to pick!
I finally ask myself the big questions – do i have too much, and would there be raised eyebrows at the checkout. Usually this is a yes, however it has never really stopped me from buying something.

I ask myself the same questions as you do – and now I am at a point where I don’t really go looking for products unless I really need them. The only products I buy regularly are mascara, sunscreen and eye cream.

When I do buy color cosmetics, I always get a color I do not have or one that I will regularly. If I won’t wear it more than twice, I don’t bother. I remember almost buying a Guerlain Divinora lipstick two years ago (it was a very beige-ish pink) but I knew I wouldn’t wear it much, so I didn’t buy it – and good thing too! I already had two similar shades – one is still in its unopened box!

No … but I should!!! I am way too impulsive and end up with all sorts of stuff I don’t need or something too similar to something I already own. I am going to start asking myself questions – thanks for posting this!

Oh yes. I ask myself “Do you like this colour? Will this enhance your collection ? Can you afford this?” If the answer is yes to all three I’ll probably buy it. Of course, I have been known to get a product or two just to replicate a look I saw here. Hee.

yes i ask myself all those questions all the time. that’s why mac has to come out with interesting colors and collections because i need a good reason to justify my purchases.

Can I fake this with blends of other colors I already have? Do I have other colors I can mix and match with or is this going to be like buying yellow shoes?
