Temptalia Asks You - Do you ask yourself questions before you buy something?
Do you ask yourself questions before you buy something? Do you ask, “Will I wear this often?” or “Do I have anything similar?” What do you ask yourself when you consider a product for purchase?
I think about how often I will use it, whether it will work with products I already have (undoubtedly, this is usually a yes), how many similar colors do I have, do I really need it, and do I really want to pay that much?
Usually I go through a long list of questions before buying a product, making my shopping trips way too long.
Firstly, i consider whether or not i can afford the product and get a long haul of other things. I then question the quality of the product, and if i really want it. Then its a case of if i have that shade in particular, however if there are quite a few shades i want then that’s when im stuck in the store for ages trying to pick!
I finally ask myself the big questions – do i have too much, and would there be raised eyebrows at the checkout. Usually this is a yes, however it has never really stopped me from buying something.
lol, but asking yourself questions is SUCH a good habit when shopping 🙂 That way you take home what you really do want!
Hey Briodmun ,
Dear its like u have read my heart out, like gave words for my sayings also,i luv u my friend, and im so surprised that how can two people match so much, lol on myself on reading this and happy also.. :))
Zzainy..
I know, right? She had a great answer!
Amen to all that you said Christine – those are exactly the thoughts that run through and there have been many times when I’ve stopped myself from buying something that I can do without.
Good to know I’m not alone 🙂
I ask myself the same questions as you do – and now I am at a point where I don’t really go looking for products unless I really need them. The only products I buy regularly are mascara, sunscreen and eye cream.
When I do buy color cosmetics, I always get a color I do not have or one that I will regularly. If I won’t wear it more than twice, I don’t bother. I remember almost buying a Guerlain Divinora lipstick two years ago (it was a very beige-ish pink) but I knew I wouldn’t wear it much, so I didn’t buy it – and good thing too! I already had two similar shades – one is still in its unopened box!
Yeah, I don’t actively seek out new products myself, I already know about a lot of what’s coming out, but I steel myself against it all!
No … but I should!!! I am way too impulsive and end up with all sorts of stuff I don’t need or something too similar to something I already own. I am going to start asking myself questions – thanks for posting this!
lol, uh oh! I hope you do!
Oh yes. I ask myself “Do you like this colour? Will this enhance your collection ? Can you afford this?” If the answer is yes to all three I’ll probably buy it. Of course, I have been known to get a product or two just to replicate a look I saw here. Hee.
Ha! It’s amazing what seeing a color on someone else may motivate you to do!
I don’t… if I like something I usually just buy it if I have the money!
lol, Lydia 😀 Hey, if you have the money!
yes i ask myself all those questions all the time. that’s why mac has to come out with interesting colors and collections because i need a good reason to justify my purchases.
Definitely, Victoria 🙂
hmmm.. most of the time i’l ask myself.. do i hav something similar? or dat it won’t make much diff buying it or not.. i mean y for buy sthing dat is similar den wad u hav? i’l also ask myself whether it can last long(hence worth the purchasing value).. i wouldn’t wanna get sthing dat i’ve to buy refills every now n den =)
Those are all good questions, Aurora 😀
Can I fake this with blends of other colors I already have? Do I have other colors I can mix and match with or is this going to be like buying yellow shoes?
Great questions, Erin 🙂 LOL at yellow shoes. I bought pastel green shoes thinking the same thing, but I adore them.
