Teal & Yellow Look with MAC Surf Baby
Teal & Yellow Look with MAC Surf Baby
Quickie look I did to test out some of the new products from MAC’s Surf Baby collection.
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Â NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (eyeshadow base), MAC Surf USA Eyeshadow (teal), MAC Sun Blonde Eyeshadow (golden mustard yellow), MAC Short Shorts Eyeshadow (white gold), Burberry Trench Eyeshadow (highlighter), MAC Blue Moon Powerpoint Pencil (teal), Hourglass Film Noir Mascara (black)
- Face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (140), Burberry Pressed Powder (03)
- Cheeks: MAC Billionaire Bronze Powder (bronze)
- Lips: MAC Bust Out! Lipstick (purple)
- Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pencil brush), 188 (small, circular stippling brush)
- Substitutes: Surf USA = Shimmermoss; Sun Blonde = Goldmine + Arena; Short Shorts = Nylon; My Paradise = NYX Menage a Trois; Bust Out = Up the Amp
For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof all over the lid and above the crease with the 242 to lay down your eyeshadow base. Â Lightly press Surf USA eyeshadow onto the lower half of the lid, going horizontally, with the 239. Â Then apply Sun Blonde eyeshadow on the upper half of the lid and above the crease with the 239. Â Apply Short Shorts eyeshadow underneath the arch of the brow, and then mix with Trench eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone. Â Next, apply Blue Moon liner on the lower lash line, and then smudge with Short Shorts eyeshadow. Â Coat lashes with Film Noir mascara to finish the look.
For cheeks, apply My Paradise blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep towards the temple with the 116.
For lips, apply Bust Out! lipstick for a complementing lip.

You have such gorgeous eyes. You did an awesome job! =]
Thanks a lot, Vijaya!
has anyone ever told you your irises look like leopard spots? its gorgeous!
I like teal, but I limit its use on my eyes to a line above my regular eyeliner, vs an all over lid color. It’s too bold for my look I like generally and my over all coloring that is fair/light with blond hair. I do better putting it as said above or doing a mix of it with something else in the outer corner V of my eyes. The gold here is too dark for me to use under the eyebrow – but that shade in a dup I do use as an all over lid color.
That’s a great idea!
I really like how you don’t put dark eyeliner on your upper lash line… It really makes your upper lashes pop, especially when you wear bright eyeshadows on your upper lid. I’ve stopped lining my upper lash lines because I love how my lashes look more noticeable that way!
I remember some time ago in one of your posts you mentioned that some weirdos were saying that looks where you don’t line your upper lashes looked ‘ugly’, so I just wanted to drop this comment here…
Aww, thank you so much, Moni!! 😀
Very nice look!
Thanks, Kiwi!
Agreed on the teal waterline, do you think I can substitute that pencil with UD’s Haight?
I think this is my fave look in this site.. ever. It just looks so amazingly well put together.
I think you could!
I really really love this look on you! It’s so fun and I never would have thought to try yellow in the crease with the blue.
Thanks a lot, Phyrra!
Oooooh! Lovely as always!
I love this idea of splitting the lid, in half essentially, with two colors. You could really do that with any two complementary bright colors and I suspect it’d look equally great! :] Keep up the good work!
Thank you, Amanda!
Love it!
Thanks, Noga!
OMG! So Pretty! Cant wait to try this look myself. Christine, you’re simply amazing!
Thanks so much, Preeti!
