It feels like some brands have released summer looking holiday collections and I keep thinking that they might be using some products they didn’t get to release during the spring/summer months because of the pandemic.
It honestly works great for me as I live in Australia and Christmas is boiling hot – devoted to salads and BBQs, and I personally avoid heavy make up so the holiday collections with heavy glitter and gold never attract me.
Cherry Christmas is the tag line used to advertise the cherry season here and Marc Jacobs is what comes to mind – I thought it might sound weird to customers in the Northern Hemisphere but that’s how it is down under.

I have been boycotting Tarte for about 3 or 4 years now but have been open to purchasing again from them and just hadn’t seen anything really tempting. I am not really seeing anything here I might purchase. A little curiosity about the Pink/Purple 9 pan palette just because I like a 9 pan palette for size and if it includes a decent transition shade and an under brow highlight, I would consider it. It has to review really well. Not sure what the “wink wink” means but okay.

Thanks Cameron. I had no idea to what they were referring. If it reviews well and they get some variety of depth and shades, it would be nice. I do like the 9 pan palette size for travel as long as it has a matte, lite/medium toned transition shade and a good brow bone highlight. We will see when swatches start turning up.

No, I am sure it was something you heard about but likely didn’t make an impression. It had to do with their foundation launch and the lack of inclusivity of the release. They released less than 20 shades and all for lighter skin tones, not even medium skin tones were covered. My daughter is a medium skin tone as she is of mixed parentage, Caucasian, African American and American Indian. She isn’t that deep toned so it was really egregious to me that they didn’t even have a shade near what she could wear. I myself, am white as snow and there wasn’t a shade for me either. This was years ago and they did come back and release a significantly increased range after the social media storm. After my first 6 months of actively avoiding them, I just really didn’t see anything that bowled me over and had sort of crossed them off my list of brands to follow. I am certainly not boycotting them any longer, everyone makes a mistake now and then and they tried to rectify their error so I would be open to purchasing something from them if there was something that appealed. As far as the “wink wink” goes, I have no idea but looks like Cameron thinks it is a larger palette. I am waiting for reviews but if it reviews well it might be a palette I would consider as it has all shades I like and use and I do like a small palette for travel.

Oh! Yes. Thank you for clarifying. I don’t wear foundation as such, but I fully support any resistance to brands that are not inclusive. I don’t have much Tarte and likely won’t be purchasing anything from this release, but the palettes are lovely.

Oh, I really hope they do the Lil’ Juicy (Pink/Purple) as a stand alone palette and not just as part of this set of 3! I KNOW I am not alone in wanting cooler mauve/purple/burgundy/pink shades; we are all begging for them- but NO companies are listening. I swear I now have all of the warm palettes I will need for the rest of my life, as that is all that has been available for the last 3-4 years. (What ever happened to true mauves and purples? Did we get so excited that we can now find red or orange eyeshadow that we’ve completely forgotten about cool tones, lol?)
