For me, I don’t research my beauty purchases so much since I primarily review them, but I have found that research and reading reviews in non-beauty categories has typically led to better purchases!

With beauty products, I don’t typically do much, if any, research on a product since if I am buying it, it’s likely for a review and I try not to get influenced by anyone else’s reviews!

How does price and quantity impact your purchasing decisions?

If it’s a really expensive range, and I’m either not certain it’s THAT in-demand by readers or if I am wary about quality, then I will purchase less than the full range initially, then purchase more (or not at all) based on performance — both with readers but also quality.

I don’t know if I’d say legitimately MORE interested, but if it is limited edition, then I do feel more urgency to review faster vs. waiting to purchase when it’ll fit in my schedule better.

Does social media influence your makeup style?

To the extent that it is a reflection of the types of products brands are releasing, yes, but I don’t actively try to emulate a certain look or style. On the other hand, if highlighters are really popular and releasing in a steady stream, I might be more into highlighters at that time.
