Smashbox x Vlada Collection
Smashbox x Vlada Collection

Smashbox x Vlada Collection is a rose gold extravangaza that features highlighters (you’ll want to like your glittery/sparkly highlighters, though), lipglosses, liquid lipsticks, an eyeshadow palette, liquid eyeliners, shimmer spray (use as they advise–not sprayed directly onto the face!!), and a face primer.

P.S. — I’m working on reviews, but for those who don’t rely on them before purchasing, don’t forget that you can get 15% off this launch at Macy’s with code FRIEND! 🙂

Christine, do you have a pic of the compact lid for the Rosemantic highlighter? That 2D rose is absolutely stunning, worthy of Guerlain or Dior! I’m wearing Rosemantic today as a blush, and it’s gorgeous, has a glowy finish that reminds me of the MAC Extra Dimension blushes. I paired it with XO Vlada Liquid Lip (the glossy formula, not the matte formula), and it’s a perfect match. I look like I’m ready for summer -super, super happy I got these 2 items!

You know I saw this in store and it just fell really flat to me. Yes it’s adorable to look at but all of these can be duped and I have dupes. I just felt underwhelmed and I hate when I have that feeling about makeup releases.

Is this offering genuinely a big improvement, or am I just excited about other scores, and it’s carrying over? Muse was disappointed in getting the HL onto the brush. That can fix, after a few uses. More excited about the 20 at Pat.

To my surprise, I really like the e/s palette – the shades swatch in a much more flattering result than I’d have expected looking at them in the palette. Those highlighters seem a bit disappointing, though. I’m a sucker for cheek products with a rose/gardenia/peony type floral imprint but that Prismatic Pearl Petal one look GREEN – not the nicest look on my face – and they all seem to have quite an overspray, though that might be the way the product is. The palest one might work for me but these are things I’d definitely want to try out in-store.

I have the gilded rose highlight, its most likely going back. It doesn’t even show up on my fair/light netural skin. I have the eyeshadow palette I like it okay. Pretty colors. I also have the face primer, so weird that it has a tint to it that doesn’t really go in. I think it makes my make look bad. I’m considering returning it.

I picked up Prismatic Pearl and Gilded Rose. Personally, I’m on the fence. Love, love, looooove the packaging on Gilded Rose and can’t believe Sephora cheaped out on their exclusive shade packaging. Prismatic Pearl won’t work on my very fair skin at all, but man when the light hits it? *faints a little* It’s so beautiful I think I’ll keep it as an eyeshadow and on the off chance I’ll fake tan so dark it’ll work on my skin.

I’m also willing to bet money the black liquid liner is a dupe for an old Make Up For Ever liquid liner – wish I still had it, but finally threw it out last year.

The eye palette swatched nicely at least, but I have so so many of this color scheme that I will have to pass on this unfortunately.

I snatched the eye palette and the new punked palette with my Ulta coupon since it was my birthday week. I’m SO impressed with the texture of the newer formula and really hope they release the original palettes again.

This is the first time I’ve seen something that I really only want to buy for the packaging. Those highlighters are just too gorgeous to look at and if they had had them in store I might have bought one. My wallet is glad they were out of stock. I did buy the eye palette and really like it because they’re not the colors I generally gravitate toward. I also got the Always On In Bloom because it looks a whole lot like my favorite Smashbox lip color – Mauve Squad from the Be Legendary Liquid Metal gloss. It might be my favorite lip color in general but i wanted it in something more long lasting and opaque so the Always On one is such a wonderful surprise!

I brought In Bloom lip stick during the Ulta sale but haven’t received it yet. I swatched Rosemantic highlighter in store and it looked pretty but like something I already own so I passed on it. The eye shadows also look dupable. I brought Smashbox Cover Shot eye palette in Pinks & Palms during the sale and the pigmentation is terrible! I’m pretty sure it’s going back. That was my first Smashbox eye shadow purchase. Love their liquid lip sticks though.

Between this, CP Shayla and UD Beached, I am is serious trouble! I’m saving for so many other things. Some very important, one huge MUR one coming in June by MAC. Since I petitioned for it, dreamed of it, and my daughter was absolutely devastated when Aaliyah’s plane crashed…that has to take precedence. But I will get Rosemantic Highlighter, though!

I couldn’t wait and I so love this. Rosematic I’m using as an overblush on Colourpop Cheerio today. I love the eye shadow palette. I got in Bloom liquid lip and petal metal gloss both exceptional. The gloss lasts really long.. yep I’m shimmering…..

I agree with Mo Merrell. I was totally taken by these in the Vlada videos and almost ordered a few items. I waited until I saw them in store and even with my 15% off they really didn’t represent well.
Granted, the Sephora I was in was crowded, the shelves half empty and it was a mess, which turns me off buying anything.
I really wanted the rosematic highlighter, but it swatched really glittery in store.
Likewise the shadow palette didn’t lure me; in person I realized I could dupe the entire thing and it has more of a fall/winter than a summery feel to me, so I passed on it too.
The one thing I was impressed by (surprisingly) with was the shimmer spray. I put in on my hand and forgot until later in the day and my hand looked fresh and glowy. I’d use that on my body in a minute. It’s less tacky than the Fenty body lava.
Guess the petal metal legendary lip will be it for me from this collection.

think i’m gonna need black rose liner in my life! fresh stem & rose rocked are pretty but my wallet & drawer can’t handle anymore palettes after the sephora sale!

I bought the e/s palette & the 24K rose gold liquid eyeliner. I liked both products & agree the Cover Shot line is excellent for use daily or for travel.

As soon as these products hit the pre-sale, I was all over it. Got the spray, the drops and highlighter. Ended up returning ALL 3. This is an extreeeeeemly underwhelming, yet beautiful looking collection. If you want a display of pretty things, this might be for you. The highlighter (Gilded Rose) has no pigment. I was shocked. It felt very chalky when swatched. The spray has a very awkward nozzle and it just squirts the product at you, leaving visible droplets. It absolutely RUINED my hair and face make up. The drops are basically thin oil with chunks of glitter in it. It separates pretty badly and you have to shake it violently to get any type of payoff. As soon as this oil dries off, you are left with nothing but chunks of glitter.
Gorgeous packaging, poor quality of products. Hard pass on all this.
