Swatch Saturday: Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows (Satin & Matte Finishes)
Last up, Satins and Mattes from Make Up For Ever’s Artist Shadows ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) that I’ll be reviewing (a couple may have already been reviewed). This post does exclude any shades from the 30th Anniversary Palette (click the link for swatches of those), which I already posted before! 🙂

Ah, that azure blue… Reminds me of the sea in places I traveled to once, and would dearly love to revisit! 😀 straw yellow is a really interesting colour too, but it seems poor cement drew the short straw on pigmentation!
I read it as “pour cement,” which I found unreasonably funny…
I love every color in this edit! That pink will be such a pretty blush and the Orange is a great eye shadow to neutralize dark or blueish eye lids. A MAC artist once showed me the trick.. it actually works especially in the crease!
Glad these ones appeal to you!
These Satin finish shares are amazing!! Love love how pigmented they are!
Yay!
Wine, Azure Blue and Orange are definitely on my list. I love those colors!
They’re both quite bright!
Orange is such a beautiful orange <3
It is nice!
That Gray Brown is gorgeous – perfect to deepen the crease with some Fall looks. It’s seems like a gorgeous creamy matte formula as well!
Let’s hope!
I was really hoping that the first shade would be more pigmented and true-to-pan.
It is definitely a shade that needs a base, unfortunately 🙁
I think I’ll be adding Gray Brown to my stash-no surprise there, LOL! Chocolate is really pretty, too.
Yay!
These look a bit more powdery than some of the others you’ve recently swatched. Patchier too.
Yes, some of the mattes aren’t as great!
Azure, Straw Yellow and Orange are the standouts to me. But, as usual, they are all pretty colors. The gray is very nice.
*Gray brown, I meant.
It is!
I really like Cement and Wine! (Imagine saying that without context!!) Thanks for the swatches! I’m looking forward to your reviews.
Haha!!
I am in heaven looking at these.
🙂
Hmm not really keen on the matte shadows. Most of those colours are either too bright or I have dupes of them already. Shame.
That’s too bad!
From the photos the matte ones seems not to be up to the fantastic pigmentation of all the other finishes. I like the colour of Cement but it, along with Wine looks a bit, Oh I don’t know, underperforming seems too strong a word to use, but something like that. Could just be my imagination, of course 🙂
So far, I find that the mattes have a thinner, more powdery consistency that makes them perform poorer on bare skin since they do not adhere as well!
