Best mascara for longer lashes? I have short, sparse lashes, so I don’t know.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? I only wear bullet lipstick, and I find mattes to last the longest. As far as brands, my favorite mattes are by MAC, Dior, and Chanel.
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? I don’t like the kind of liquid lipsticks that dry down. The worst bullet lipstick formula I’ve tried over the past few years was Makeup by Mario (shade: Erin). It just felt awful on my lips.
Lately really loving my Givenchy Le Rouge Matte Velvets — longer wearing than most bullet mattes for me, does a nice even ombre-type fade when it starts wearing off center of lips, super comfy, and Grenat Fume is a terrific murky muted plum for fall. Runner-up current fave is the sheer Carolina Herrera formula, and also the [smaller] tinted sheer balm — the plummy purple shade and the pH-adjusting one are both constant residents of my bag (and they get bonus points for having SUCH cute cases and also being refillable). Also still loving ColourPop Glossy Stain — Tutti Fruity has been a go-to for a couple years now, wish they’d release more (deepish, cooler-toned) colors!
Probably controversial take : I absolutely loathe the satin/cream Guerlain Rouge G formula. Feels like rubbing a stick of butter on my lips, doesn’t adhere to my inner lip area, slides all over the place, looks thin and plastic-y on me. Near the opposite end of the price spectrum, the Maybelline matte bullets. So many people went NUTS over “Gone Greige” a while back and maybe I got a bad one, but it was hard, dry, gunky, uncomfortable to apply, and looked gross and chunky-crusty on my lips. Also smelled like kiddie makeup mixed with Play-Doh and possibly library paste. Blegh.
Maybe an odd question, but with the Givenchy lipsticks, how well does the cap stay on? I bought a Givenchy several years ago that has the same kind of case, and the cap falls off so easily. Maybe I got a bad one?
I have a few different ones, all the same structure but with varying leather or velvet (in this case) accents on the cap, and I don’t think I’ve never had a cap fall off in my bag! If they had, I wouldn’t have bought additional ones — flimsy / nonsecure packaging is DEF a deal-breaker for me too. The little makeup case I have in my bag is squashy and always has quite a few things in it, so it’s possible that they don’t have room to rattle around enough for the cap to come loose? But I HAVE had caps/lids come off of NARS lipsticks (the sheer formula in the small thin plastic case) and lip pencils, so it’s possible!
The Givenchy Le Rouge Matte Velvet line has some really lovely shades, but OMG, the scent! The scent is SO strong and it doesn’t seem to fade after time. Repeatedly gave me ugly headaches; I had to return them. (I’m usually not like that with scented products, but these did seem more strongly scented and lasting than anything else I’ve ever used…)

Best mascara for longer lashes? I’m not a great person to ask since I rarely bother with mascara but probably Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara 3D
Longest wearing lipstick formula? the long discontinued Clarins Rouge Prodige. Not as long wearing as those lip inks and stains and mattes that all feel like Sharpie marker on my lips but it was long-wearing and comfortable and beautiful
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? Almost every matte lipstick except Smashbox (also now a discontinued formula) but the worst had to be TooFaced Melted Liquified Longwear Lipstick. That really was like dry, dreadful RED Sharpie marker. UGH. Do this still make that stuff?
Your skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones, grey hair and dark brown eyes.
Best mascara for longer lashes? For longer lashes I like Better Than Sex. I actually haven’t tried it since coming back to makeup and may need to pick it up while I am gone. I had quite forgotten about it.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? Nothing really lasts on me but about the longest are the Flower Knows Lip Creams. I also get pretty good wear out of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet line. Overall, I find matte bullets to be the best in terms of longevity.
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? I can hang with almost any lipstick if needs be but the ones that taste chemically are really not for me. I would rather taste perfume than chemical. I am trying to think of the last one I purchased that had a chemical taste and it is escaping me. It wasn’t that long ago either so that doesn’t bode well for my memory, LOL! I do remember it was a drugstore brand.

Best mascara for longer lashes? Probably Ilia’s lengthening mascara or Maybelline Sky High
Longest wearing lipstick formula? Sephora Cream Lip Stain
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? Hmmm for me it is Dior. Some ingredient they use wrecks my lips so bad.
Best mascara for longer lashes: I’ve only tried so many, but of those, possibly Définicils by Lancôme. Holds a curl decently for a mascara that doesn’t really claim to do so, and since it doesn’t impart a ton of volume, the effect is just as the name promises! Too bad I can’t use it anymore.
Longest-wearing lipstick formula: again, without having tested any of the several glossy longwear liquid lip colors that have come out recently, I have to give props to the old school waxy mattes (e.g. MAC’s retro matte Ruby Woo, NARS’s velvet matte Cruella).
Worst lipstick formula I’ve tried: I won’t name names since they’re all discontinued/out of business now lol, but a few indie matte liquid lipsticks would just crumble off my lips. And some of ColourPop’s original Ultra Mattes, too.
Fair neutral with some yellow, green eyes, salt & pepper hair sensitive combo to oily skin.
Best mascara for longer lashes?: IDK, I already have longer eyelashes, I go for volume and curl and, unless it’s a tubing mascara…waterproof.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? Maybelline Super Stay 24, 2-Step Liquid Lipstick If I wear red, guaranteed this is what I’m wearing.
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Telluride. I got it with a lip gloss in a coordinating color on National Lipstick Day at Nordys. I know it’s new, but it applies like 10 year old lipstick. It’s dry and balls up. No wonder they included a beautiful lip gloss with it, because you need it. So angry. Makes my lips appear dried out even when they aren’t.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
Best mascara for longer lashes? Since I always curl my lashes after tightlining the upper lashline, it can be difficult to say for sure. That said, I definitely believe that Heroine Make Long & Curl Super Waterproof mascara does seem to have me some extra length.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? Either Sephora dry-down liquid mattes or KVD ELL formulas.
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? KVD ELL!!! Way too drying and make my lips feel chalky, even crusty after around 4-5 hours. I’ve heard that they’ve improved the formula, but I probably won’t know unless we ever need to wear masks again.
Runner up for the spot would be the Nyx OG Round lipstick formula, it disappears in no time!
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Best mascara for longer lashes? I don’t want longer lashes (it creates a windscreen wiper effect on my glasses), but thicker. Designer Brands Mascara is pretty good for thickening my lashes.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? I would say CP’s Lux lipsticks are pretty good for longevity
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried? A L’Oreal one – it just absolutely dried my lips out. It wasn’t a matte one, but the formula was just terrible.

Nearly identical to Christine! Lol. Light plus/light-med neutral, slight yellow lean.
Best mascara for longer lashes?
I am already biased to tubing mascaras for the ease of removal but DJV Fiberwig mascara will genuinely make it look like they’re as long as falsies. Really, most tubing mascaras are great for length.
Longest-wearing lipstick formula?
Of those I’ve tried, the Superstay Stay Matte Ink formula. Not the most comfortable, but more so than a lot of the dual-phase type.
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried?
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified, I think mostly because it just never dried/set. Like it wasn’t uncomfortable, but I could just FEEL it on my lips the whole time.
Your skin tone/coloring: very light with neutral undertones, think about Huda Beauty Angel Food 110N, hair is between strawberry blonde and dark blonde
Best mascara for longer lashes: I got very long but straight lashes, and my favourite mascaras is Go big or go home from KVD Beauty, a real must have. For a waterproof alternative, I like the Diorshow Iconic overcurl.
Longest wearing lipstick formula? Super Stay Vinyl Ink Liquid Lipcolor, I resist the urge to buy 3 or 5 more shades. Color Pop Ultra matte lips holds as long maybe a bit less comfortably
Worst lipstick formula you’ve tried : from Impulse Cosmetics, an indie brand, and it was aweful, be it longevity or application. I should have paid more attention because the swatches were heavily edited
