◾First beauty product you ever bought yourself? The first thing I really put thought into buying was a good foundation (MUFE’s HD foundation), because I needed something my acne-prone skin wouldn’t react to, as well as something full-coverage. The rest is history, haha!

My senior year of high school, and mostly out of necessity. I had rather bad skin and would do everything I could to cover up all the blemishes. I didn’t start wearing makeup well (earlier I was more concerned with coverage than technique), until my senior year of undergrad. Once I was done swimming, I felt I could explore more and try out different looks without having to worry about it washing off in the pool.

Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark features.
Influence: I don’t really have one… However, Kat von D has a similar aesthetic, and her coloring is also quite similar to my own, although I don’t see her as having a true influence on my overall look. Her eyeshadow palettes make achieving said looks alot simpler, though!
Started wearing makeup: I wore lipstick, eyeshadow, and mascara regularly in the latter half of sixth grade, but I “graduated” to fuller looks in seventh. When I was in high school, however, my schedule/lifestyle didn’t allow for alot of makeup every day, and that has continued to the present. As I’ve stated before, unless I have the time/energy to pull a full look together, I don’t really bother; I’m not going to wake up any earlier than I have to, just to put makeup on to walk my kid to school, run to the grocery store/do laundry/clean.
First product: L’Oreal lipstick in Cameo, Sealily, & Grecian Goddess; they were Buy 2, Get 1, and this was 25 years ago, and I can’t bring myself to toss them, LOL. I’m sure I bought thing prior, but I had a job that Summer, and I also did some modelling, and this was the first time I ever had money that I actually earned myself.

My skin tone is light olive with, of course, some yellow undertones. My biggest influences are the beauty bloggers who have guided me in using make-up. i began to seriously and regularly use make-up just last year. I am 70 years old with very youthful skin and no wrinkles yet. My first beauty product was an eye cream…I was about 21 years old. I have always used good skin care routine but my husband (whom I married when I was only 21) never liked me to wear even lipstick, so I never explored the wonderful world of make-up. I use it now and am learning how to make it work for some one of my age. He seems to have mellowed a bit and does not seem to mind any more if I enhance my features with a bit of make-up. I am having fun while learning, thanks to wonderful bloggers like Temptalia.
