Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!
Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).
We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Your skin tone/coloring:light, MAC NC 20
Pastels — yay or nay? Yay-ish. They fun for spring but they can look a bit chalky on me imo so they aren’t my favorite. Just not a complete no
Favorite black eyeliner? I don’t own any bc I hate how black eyeliner looks on me!
Favorite eye makeup remover? Preferably a cleansing oil without fragrance! I don’t have one particular I use bc I’ve been trying various ones from low end to high end!
Your skin tone/coloring: Below my name
Pastels — yay or nay? Not on me, but I admire them on those with the right coloring for them
Favorite black eyeliner? Uoma Beauty Afro.Dis.Iac Liquid Eyeliner in Cleopatra Ink.
Favorite eye makeup remover? I don’t use a separate eye makeup remover and every one I ever have tried has stung or did not get everything off easily. My oil cleanser works fine on eye makeup.
Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.
Pastels — yay or nay? Yes, definitely!
Favorite black eyeliner? I don’t have one; eyeliner smudges too much on me, so I stopped wearing it altogether.
Favorite eye makeup remover? Any sort of cleansing balm and a warm wet washcloth.
Your skin tone/coloring: Under my name (blue-green eyes, dark hair)
Pastels — yay or nay? Certain tones of pastels can work on my oddly peachy overtone, olive undertone medium depth skintone. For example; I can totally pull off KVD Pastel Goth palette, but mostly during winter. Metallic pastel lavender works year-round, as does pastel green or aqua. Pastel pink, baby blue and pale gray all make me look like death!
Favorite black eyeliner? For my upper tightline, Smashbox Always On Fishnet Liner. For upper lashline winged liner, KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper.
Favorite eye makeup remover? For eyes, good old baby oil with aloe vera. For face, either a balm remover or makeup remover wipes, followed up with FAB facial cleanser.
Actually, the description of your skintone makes perfect sense to me. I think you might be a little darker and lean more yellow peach, where I am more pinkish peach on the surface. The olive u/t makes me overall duller and rather beige. It’s complicated!
Yep! My skin DOES look very dull and I wish it was either more yellow or more rosy, instead of a blah dark beige, and bordering on dull light brown during summer. The only way to describe it! Literally NW30-35, which is dull, dull, dull.
📍Your skin tone/coloring: Light + neutral u/t’s
📍Pastels — yay or nay? Mostly nay
📍Favourite black eyeliner? Natasha Denona work & set (potted gel), ND Macro blade (liquid pen), Tarte Sea Surfer Curl (tightline – waterproof gel pencil)
📍Favourite eye makeup remover? L’Oreal gentle makeup remover – eyes and lips
YOUR SKIN TONE/COLORING: Under my name; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
PASTELS — YAY OR NAY? White-based pastels, big nay. Bright pastels, sometimes a yay.
FAVORITE BLACK EYELINER?
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Perversion.
FAVORITE EYE MAKEUP REMOVER?
Garnier Micellar Water
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Pastels — yay or nay? Definitely nay!
Favorite black eyeliner? I don’t use eyeliners, and if I did, I would never use a black one as it is too dark for my skintones. I would use a soft bronzey brown, a khaki or a navy instead.
Favorite eye makeup remover? I just use whatever cleanser I have opened to take off my eye makeup (in the shower of a night time). Currently I am using The Ordinary’s Squalene cleanser – which does the trick.
Blonde hair, hazel eyes and fair/light pink toned skin….
Pastel shadows? definitely a nay for the baby blue, pale green and yellows. I tend to stay with a smoky eye most days so a pale gray, taupe or champagne are great, just not the pale ones in colors that are not in the neutral family. I’m not in my 20’s-30’s any more so brightly colored shadows make me look like a clown.
Eyeliner…..definitely keep repurchasing Urban Decay 24/7 Perversion…its the blackest black in a pencil liner I have found to date.
To remove eye makeup…Clarins makes a good one…..
Your skin tone/coloring: under my name, brunette w/highlights, hazel eyes
Pastels — yay or nay? nay
Favorite black eyeliner? MUFE Graphite Black pencil and liquid liner
Favorite eye makeup remover? Makeup eraser
Your skin tone/coloring: MAC NW 20
Pastels — yay or nay? Yayish…especially in Spring
Favorite black eyeliner? is discontinued…was Marc Jacobs Blacquer
Favorite eye makeup remover? Good old fashioned Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser…it just works
My mom also loves Marc Jacobs Blackquer, I used to gift her the product each time I visited. It was our special makeup bond… now I have to create another. 🙂
Your skin tone/coloring: pale yellowish, red hair, blue eyes
Pastels — yay or nay? Used to be a very, very large nay from me back in the era of 90s/early 00s pastels, but modern ones seem to work much better on me.
Favorite black eyeliner? LA Girl Shockwave
Favorite eye makeup remover? Elemis cleansing balm or Banila Clean It Zero
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool skin (foundation matches: Fenty Pro Filt’r 110, Urban Decay All Nighter 2.5, NARS Natural Radiant Longwear 2.0 Mont Blanc, Kevyn Aucoin The Etherealist Light EF 02, L’Oreal True Match C3 Creamy Natural), gray eyes, brown hair with red highlights and scattered blonde/blue strands. My everyday base products are Fenty-Amber Match Stick as cheek contour and Pro Filt’r concealer and Soft Matte foundation in 110.
Pastels — yay or nay? Yay, as long as they’re not too pale. ND Pastel palette looks like it’ll be in the sweet spot of pastel and pigmented.
Favorite black eyeliner? UD 24/7 Zero.
Favorite eye makeup remover? Either Neutrogena makeup remover wipes-which I use on my entire face-or Maybelline Expert Eyes waterproof eye makeup remover.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light-medium with warm yellow undertones, dark brown hair and eyes
Pastels — yay or nay? Nay
Favorite black eyeliner? Physician’s Formula Eye Booster
Favorite eye makeup remover? Paula’s Choice Cleansing Balm for the eyes and all over the face
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
Pastels — yay or nay? Nay, nay, nay and, at the risk of sounding a bit “horsey”, NAY!
Favorite black eyeliner? It’s an old one from GOSH that’s probably dried up now and I forget the name but I rarely wear black liner except for the Marc Jacobs skinny ones that I use for my upper waterline/tightline
Favorite eye makeup remover? So many and they’re all good. For bi-phase (the type that require shaking), Elizabeth Arden All Gone, Clinique Take the Day Off (the liquid); Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover and, of course, Lancome Bi-Facil. Also, when I was in France a few years ago and needed a heavier duty remover than what I’d brought with me, I got a great one in a small grocery store. It was made by the French ‘arm’ of Maybelline – Gemey-Maybelline. If I’m ever in France again, I’d stock up because it was great and really affordable. For the ones you don’t need to shake, Bioderma or Garnier Micellar (or however you spell it) waters, Clarins Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (also really nice chilled and on cotton pads to sooth tired eyes) and so many of the cleansing balms I have that dissolve anything and everything! Gosh, I’ve got a lot of eye makeup removers….
Your skin tone/coloring: Above, grey-green eyes and dark brown hair.
Pastels — yay or nay? Nay if white based, a weak yay to saturated ones, but only in the lilac – purple colourway.
Favorite black eyeliner? UD Perversion, if a liquid I loved the one from KvD but I don’t buy from that brand anymore so now I’m undecided.
Favorite eye makeup remover? Clinique TtDO balm, works for ayes and face, I really like it.
Your skin tone/coloring: above
Pastels — yay or nay? Yay for me, though the formulas aren’t always the best on my skintone.
Favorite black eyeliner? UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion
Favorite eye makeup remover? Pure sunflower oil!
Your skin tone/coloring: Very pale, very pink undertones
Pastels — yay or nay? Nay. Despite being so pale, pastels never really show up on me, or the color goes funny
Favorite black eyeliner? UD Perversion is the blackest I’ve tried, but UD liners do NOT play well with contacts so…..
Favorite eye makeup remover? Oil.
