What was the first eyeshadow you bought? I bought 2 MAC shades at the same time, Omega and Saddle. I use them to fill in my brows 🙂

What eyeshadow have you hit pan on? Saddle. I tried to depot it before I really knew how, and I lost months worth of shadow 🙁 Also because I use it (and Omega) to fill in my brows everyday 😉

What do you use Omega for? It was recommended to me when I first started buying MAC and I have never been able to find a use for it… thanks!

Omega reminds me of a 60’s sci-fi futuristic color… I think that’s why I like it. It’s not really “pretty” to me, just really cool. It’s SO neutral that it’s one of those colors that changes depending on what you put it with.
Using Omega as a base: My favorite combos are Copperplate (which makes Omega look yellow-ish) or Brown Script (brings out it’s green tones). Cork, Saddle, Texture and Espresso are also good pairings. At this VERY moment I’m thinking that Smut might be REALLY pretty with it (though I haven’t tried that yet)! LOL!
Using Omega as a crease color: I like it with Blanc Type (almost golden tones) but I LIKE matte textures A LOT (and tend to favor the dramatic)! You can also use it as a crease color with shades like Shroom, Mylar or Brule to add depth and dimension to those colors (think a “quick and easy” neutral eye).
It’s one of my favorite neutrals… But it’s a cooler neutral. Personally speaking, I favor cool neutrals over warmer ones, but they can be harder to work with. It’s always best to have a balance off cool/warm in your arsenal 🙂

I use both Omega and Saddle for my eyebrows. I swipe Omega then Saddle then Omega and I get the perfect eyebrow shade for me 🙂

The first eyeshadow I bought when I really got into higher end makeup was Urban Decay’s Sin.
I don’t think I have backups of any specific eyeshadow, but I do always have atleast 4 different purple shadows at any given time!

I dont really have any back ups…but i do have a huge veriety of different shades and brands of golds and bronzes.

I dont remember the first drugstore eyeshadow i bought but it was something from covergirl.
My first department store eyeshadow was MAC juxt.

The first eyeshadow I bought – hmmm, it was def by Maybelline, I remember it being a mid tone taupe-brown shade but i can’t remember the shade name or collection.
I don’t have any back-ups…yet! I am extremely tempted to buy another Chanel Kaska Beige quad because it is simply divine.
I have hit pan on the light pinky-champagne shade in the Benefit Big Gorgeous Eyes kit. That’s the only one, ever!
The first eyeshadow that i remember buying was a little 3 stack or powdered eyeshadows in orange or my aunts wedding when i was 11 or 12 lol
I have 2 of MACs Crystal{both open} although im not to sure why cause i dont particularly love that colour :/, the only time i will buy a backup is if the particular colour is one i love or it is going to be discontinued.
Currently i have hit Pan on MAC Stars and Rockets,Silver Ring,Sable,Crystal,All That Glitters.

Ooo! Good one (as I thought about this I started to laugh).
First Eyeshadow: I was 15 years old. My best girl friend and I went to the five and dime down the street from my house and I bought a duo by Wet n Wild (that I naturally hid from my parents). One shadow was baby blue and one was pink. She showed me “how you correctly apply eyeshadow” by putting the blue all over the lid, and the pink all over the brow bone (two horizontal stripes). Hehehe! Sigh…
Backups: Lots of LE shades – I have backups of all the mineralize shadows from Style Black, that REALLY PRETTY brown from the Honey-whatsits collection last year (I don’t want to get up and look… Or think.) LOL! A few others but… Again… I’d have to get up and I’m about to watch Melrose Place! Haha 🙂
Hit the pan: I think the first to go is always Silver Ring (it’s one of the only ones that I use on myself, that’s probably why). I recently bought replacements for many of my MAC shadows so, right now, my palettes look pretty and new! 🙂

I wore a lot of neutrals for a long time (long enough to hit pan on these), but I wear a lot of bright colors now, due in no small part to your beautiful looks, Christine! =)

My first eye shadow was a $2 palette I bought at Daiso (Japanese toonie store). The pigmentation was terrible so I’ve never bought any Daiso makeup ever since. Probably because of this terrible experience, I tend to stay away from drug store makeup too now.

I don’t have any backup eye shadow. Mainly because I’m not that into limited edition makeup so there’s no need to buy backup. Even if I do fall in love with a limited edition item, I don’t mind searching around to find a dupe because I prefer trying new stuff.

I have not had an eye shadow that hit pan. It takes forever for me to finish up an eye shadow because I have very small lid space and I basically only apply e/s close to my eye line and never pass my crease.
LOL My mom bought some makeup from Daiso too. When I swatched them from my Mom’s bathroom, they seemed pigmented to me!
Not that I would buy drugstore eyeshadows ever.

What was the first eyeshadow you bought? Impossible to remember. I do remeber having Dior palettes and a Kanebo magnet palette with some pastel e/s that contained real silk – hmmm – quite a long time ago!
What eyeshadow do you have backups of? Spiced Chocolate & Tempting quads. I also have 2 of Nanogold and Flip, but they are not really backups. The latter doubled with Quad 4.

I hit the pan of a soft taupe eyeshadow by No.7 (similar to MAC Wedge), and a matte pinkish-white shadow I bought in a drugstore in Europe years ago.

1) What was the first eyeshadow you bought? Ever? Oh god… I don’t know… that was a long time ago. My first real makeup was when I bought White Frost, Rule and Sushi Flower in one go.

The first higher end eyeshadow I purchased was MAC Shady Lady. The dark purple was there to match with an eggplant coloured dress.
I don’t currently have any back up shadows right now, though I’m considering picking up a second Bough Grey, because I love it that much.
I’ve hit pan on Satin Taupe and Naked Lunch. I use Naked Lunch for a daytime look, and Satin Taupe is part of my normal smoky eyes look, which I am sometimes required to wear once a week for work.

Vanilla pigment (I pressed it into a pan) and actually, this is the second time hitting pan for it. Everything else isn’t even close to it but I do remember seeing an obvious dent on Ricepaper.

What eyeshadow do you have backups of? Flip and Violet Trance, both by MAC… unintentional though. I generally don’t by backups of anything.
What eyeshadow have you hit pan on? Mulch, Carbon, Mylar, all by MAC. There are more but these are among my favourites, and definitely ones that I would repurchase.
What was the first eyeshadow you bought? The absolutely first eyeshadow I bought was some drugstore brand in a shade that matched my skin exactly so you couldn’t see it at all. I really wanted to wear make-up but had no idea what I was doing and was terrified of color.
My first high end shadow was Eye Poppin’ and the orange from that colorful MAC collection (I’m spacing on the name). It’s still one of my favorite lime greens.

Beauty Marked is one of those shadows that I always want to throw away. I don’t like it, it doesn’t look very pretty and the texture is BAH!
Bough Grey is pretty sweet though – I didn’t buy a second one because, well… I don’t know why. Maybe I should? LOL!
The 1st ES I ever bought was some Claires accessories brand in a glittery baby blue color. It had zero pigmentation and was all big chuncks of irridescent glitter. (I was 12 ok!) Lol.
Backups of MAC ES in Orb. Orb is also the color I have hit pan on. I use it almost daily as a browbone highlight.

What was the first eyeshadow you bought? My friend brought me to a MAC store for the first time and I (think these are the ones, it was about 5 years ago!) bought sable, swish, woodwinked, and i think nocturnelle.

I’ve had these ones for about 5 years or so and up until recently (when my makeup addiction truly kicked in and i’ve bought a lot more eyeshadows!) they were the only eyeshadows i used on a daily basis!
First eyeshadow EVER? Couldn’t tell you for the life of me. But my first eyeshadow since I really started getting into makeup (first non-drugstore brand) was MAC’s Shimmermoss.
The only eyeshadow I have backups of is Femme-fi. It’s also the only one on which I’ve hit pan. I’d say I’m over 3/4 finished with my first one and thanks to my dear mom, I have three backups.
First Eyeshadow I ever bought: The farthest back I can remember, it was a Covergirl Quad, I think it was called Iced Grape or something like that. First MAC shadows: Tempting, Humid, and Amber Lights all at once (I had already discovered their lip products, but hadn’t forayed into to the eyeshadows yet!)

First es? Cant remember but my first mac shadow was espresso.
Backups? Right now I have backups for vanilla, carbon, and blanctype. Those are some of the fastest ones I go through.
Hit the pan? lol Im not sure why it takes people so long to finish a shadow because I go through them fast. I have hit the pan of probably over 30 mac eyeshadows and have completely finished maybe about 15.

First eyeshadow purchased: I *THINK* it was called Cloud (by Stila)…man I should really get someone to confirm and see if it’s still available. It was such a pretty shimmery taupe (better for me than Satin Taupe, as I’m quite pale).

Hit pan: think I hit it on the aforementioned Stila shade, but since that’s long gone, nothing yet. It’ll most likely be MAC’s Brule, since I kind of automatically start swiping it across my eyes in the morning before I decide what to do with my face.

What was the first eyeshadow you bought? mac in 2002 it was black tied, , scene, cranberry, beauty marked, humid,club, satin taupe, sable,mulch, bronze,mystery, amber lights, swish, jest, constrast, tilt, crystal,creme de violet, shale, vex. it seems like alot, but thats all from the perm line. then in dec 2008 i recently got back into mac and pretty much just been buying from their LE collections. i dont really buy much from the perm line anymore, except some, but i think i got some pretty basic colors back in 2002 – right ? the only ones i remember buying and using alot was clinigue ash violets and grey on grey e.s duos. besides getting revlon, maybelline or loreal at the drugstore when i was about 14 yrs old with my allowance bc they were affordable back then.
What eyeshadow do you have backups of? none, i dont believe in backups. i already have so much makeup , and their will always be another color like it/duped or repromoted, so why do it .

What was the first eyeshadow you bought? First eyeshadow period – the EDM sampler set. But my first pressed eyeshadows and the first ones I really wore were the MAC Smoky Eyes palette from the Holiday ’08 collection.

What eyeshadow have you hit pan on? Likewise, none! Like I said, I’ve only been wearing shadow since late December of ’08. But I fully anticipate hitting pan on several of my eyeshadows… just not soon. =)

I’ve hit pan on my blenders and highlighters: MAC Hey (from Fafi), Era, and Honey Lust. I’ll be hitting the pan soon with my Club and Humid. Club creates the most perfect smudgy, smokey eye!
I lied! The first color I ever ever bought was MAC Aquadisiac….it was my lone color for a very very long time that’s why I forgot about it!

The first good eyeshadow I bought was MAC’s Trax. It looked really bad on me (like I was punched in the face by a shimmer monster) so I gave it to my friend. xD
I haven’t bought backups for anything yet, surprisingly.
I’ve also hit pan on the little whitest-white colour in the 88 Eyeshadow Palette from Coastal Scents… I used it as a highlight for a long time. ^^
1.) The first eyeshadow I vividly remember buying was a very light champagne frost from Clinique. They don’t make it anymore, or I would give the shade name! That was many moons ago, back when I was in high school…wow, maybe 1993? It looked kind of like Daybreak, but not exactly. It was very light and very shimmery, and I absolutely loved wearing it every day.
2.) The only shadows I have backups for are some Urban Decay shades that are duplicated in the palettes I’ve bought. I know I will probably never run out of any shadow (except the one I’m naming below), because I have so many different ones at this point! Eye shadows are my favorite makeup item to buy.
3.) I have only hit pan on one shadow I currently own, and it’s Iceland from Ulta. It’s a super-shimmery white shade that I use as a browbone highlighter, and I also use it around my tear duct to make the dark shadow pop. I will eventually run out of that, but all my other shadows are very lightly dented!
First eyeshadow: My first high end eyeshadow was the Big, Beautiful Eyes kit from Benefit. My first MAC was Hepcat.. don’t know why I went with such a bright color! I never wear it lol.
Backups: None. There’s always something new to try!
Hit pan on: From my Urban Decay Ammo palette I’ve finished Sin, hit pan on Smog, Maui Wowie, Chopper, and Grifter. Also MAC’s Da Bling, Bold and Brazen, and Yogurt.
– A brown quad from a Swedish brand called Isadora was the VERY first I bought when I was 13, the first MAC shadow was Paradisco

I hit pan on my Lacome trio in Nude. Sadly, I think it’s been discontinued for a while now.
1st eyeshadow I’ve bought: L’Oreal quad in Enchanted Bouquet when I was 13 or 14ish. Higher end stuff was MAC Pink Venis, Swish, Da Bling and a 4th I can’t remember :s
Backup eyeshadow: Enchanted Bouquet because L’Oreal changed the colours to these cruddy ones with no colour payoff and different shades and still had the nerve to call the “Enchanted Bouquet”! I have backups of 5 or 6 Aromaleigh shadows.
What shadow have I hit pan on?: The L’Oreal EB quad again, Autumn Leaves. Those were pretty much the only 2 I wore back then everyday so it was easy. Since I’ve gotten hooked to mineral makeup I don’t think I’ve hit pan or put a dent into anything in the last 5 years 🙂
