Skintone/Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.

Hair: A brush & ponytail holder? I don’t use anything “special” in my hair, and grab whatever shampoo/conditioner that’s on sale… I literally won the genetic lottery when it comes to my hair; no matter what I put it through, it never seems to suffer, and it grows abnormally fast, and is fairly thick. My mom & brother are the same, as is my daughter! I’m always being asked what I use in my hair, and when I say nothing special, I don’t think people believe me…

Skin: Staying hydrated from within is very crucial for me, or my skin gets extremely dry. As for topical products, I haven’t found “the one”. I also use castile soap, or olive oil based soaps for cleansing, as they’re the only products that don’t completely dry out my skin.

Nails: Burt’s Bees Cuticle Balm. It’s inexpensive, absorbs easily, and works wonders. I worked in a bank for several years, and between the constant A/C & the need to wash/sanitize my hands all day (cash handling is a filthy line of work!), I needed something heavy-duty that didn’t make a mess. This was the only thing I tried that fulfilled every need, and I’ve been hooked since!

Must-have hair product? L’Anza Healing Strength Neem Plant Silk Serum. I have very thick, wavy color treated hair that frizzes easily. This serum makes my hair smooth and shiny and smells AMAZING!

Must-have body care product? Eminence Organics Naseberry Cranberry Body Wash. I have normal-oily skin on my body and often get ingrown hairs from shaving. I also have keratosis pilaris on my arms and this shower gel helps a lot on the kp by gently exfoliating. It’s never drying, but makes my skin smooth and very clean feeling.

Must-have nail treatment? CND Solar Oil. Hydrating for nails and cuticles. I have thick nails that never breaks, but they can sometimes get a bit dry, mostly because I often wear nail polish and when I’m lazy I use pure acetone to remove because of how fast and easy it is. This cuticle oil helps on that dryness overnight and makes them less crunchy.

Hair product: other than hair dye to cover up my grey (I am only 33- thanks Mom!), it has to be Wen cleansing conditioner

Body care: Josie Maran’s whipped argan body butter- it is amazing! I use it all over and it is the only thing that has helped my dry feet. The smell is kind of strong (I think I have the vanilla one), but it is so good that I am able to overlook the scent. If she ever makes it in unscented I willo be in heaven!

Nail treatment: I don’t do my nails a lot since I don’t have much luck with polish staying on me and I don’t have the time to re-apply every night, and with an active 2 1/2 year old, I don’t have time to let them dry enough to not get smears and dents in them. So, I guess my must have is a good nail file- I like the crystal ones- and a good buffer to make my nails shiny. When I do have time for nails- I like a good polish and I have had good luck with Zoya.

Must-have hair product: Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. I have very fine, yet curly hair. I’m still looking for my holy grail hair product, but I’m fairly happy with this one.

Must-have body care product: Organic coconut oil. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turns out this stuff can do anything! Aside from using it as a body moisturizer, I’ve even used it as a makeup remover and a hair conditioner.

Must-have nail treatment: Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I’ve been using this stuff for at least ten years and have never seen a reason to switch it up. It’s totally easy to slather on before bed or after I’ve removed layers and layers of damaging glitter polish. And you can’t beat that yummy lemon scent!

Must-have nail treatment?: For cultics I like the Dior Apricot Creme, but as far as actual nail treatment goes, I’m still searching my HG

If you love shea butter, then you might like Shea Moisture’s hair masks. The obvious one is their Raw Shea Butter & Argan Oil deep conditioning mask, but that one was way too thick for me personally. You may also like their African Black Soap Purification Masque (thinner in consistency and also made with tea tree oil and willow bark extract, to help your hair get really clean and condition your scalp without stripping) or their Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie (shea butter-based but also has coconut oil, silk protein and neem oil to smooth hair and eliminate frizz).

My personal favorite shea-butter-based deep conditioning treatment is Bee Mine’s (www.beemineproducts.com) BEE-U-TI-FUL Deep Conditioner. All natural and organic ingredients and it makes my hair feel like butter without weighing it down.
