Last beauty product you finished? Estee Lauder Matte Primer. I am about 1-2 uses away from finishing the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Cover foundation but I can’t use it right now due to winter dryness. I also have hit major pan on my MSFN.
Last beauty product you bought? I am waiting for my bottle of Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation to arrive. I have a ton of foundation but pretty much everything is geared towards oily skin. My skin is very dry right now, so none of my foundations is working for me.
Last beauty product you were disappointed with? A Mica Beauty lip balm that came in my ipsy bag. It’s actually a nice color but not hydrating at all. I am dealing with awful chapped lips right now and was hoping this would work for me, but it doesn’t. I think the only tinted balm that works really well as a lip color and a balm is the Fresh lip balm. So $$$ but so worth it.

Last beauty product you were disappointed with? I love my Naked 3 palette, with the exception of the shade Dust. It’s way too flaky and literally poofs into dusty fallout all over the face. It’s such a shame since it’s a lovely color!

Last beauty product you were disappointed with: Buxom serial kisser collection. The lipsticks are cute, but they are very soft in the container and some (centerfold) are very sheer. I use it with other lipsticks.
1st runner up: YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick #53 in Beige Promenade. I love the lipstick but the smell is so strong I can’t stand wearing it.
Wow I had no problem with the lipstick tubes from the buxom set. Mine seem very study and so so pigmented. I’m sorry you didn’t have a better experience with it.

-Last beauty product you were disappointed with? Naked 3. The more I use it, the more I like it, and the quality is fantastic, but some of the lighter colors are too warm for me without seriously balancing them with something else. Naked 3 has really made me appreciate Naked 2!

Last beauty product you were disappointed with? It’s been a while since I tend to wait for reviews. Maybelline’s Deepest Cherry may be closest. It’s not overly disappointing, and I have no idea if it was just the tube I received, but I struggle to apply it without a patchy result.

A YSL mascara – I absolutely loved the mascara itself, but it went off (spectacularly so) way too quickly. Since I got it in a set, I suspect it may already have been quite old, however! Still, at ~$70 a pop for the mascara alone, I’m hesitant to try again!

Paul Mitchell Smooth Shampoo: my hair never curled so much although It’s a straithening shampoo and I just have a wave.
MAC Foundations: tried 3 formulas and they accentuate pores I didn’t even know I Bad.

Last beauty product you finished? MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light. That’s the second one of them that I’ve used up. Adds a tiny bit of colour to my face without it looking weird/yellow!

I bought a few things at the same time – Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Illusoire, Guerlain Meteorites in 02 Clair, Guerlain Rouge G in Gigi, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in Shocking Coral and Neon Red and, if it counts, Lolita Lempicka Elle L’Aime Eau de Parfum.
Last beauty product you were disappointed with? Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds eyeliner in Black Ice. It looked as though it should have been full of glitter but there’s barely any shimmer to it let alone glitter. Looks like a regular black eyeliner when applied. I love the SuperShock gel eyeliner pencils from Avon so I wanted to give the Glimmerstick a go but it was a fail!

The last beauty product I was disappointed with: is one I bought at the same time as the CC cream and it’s Maybelline’s Barely Branded Colour Tattoo cream eye shadow. It’s more yellow than it looked when I tried to ascertain the colour through the thick glass of the jar. And it’s really METALLIC (I should have read and heeded the “Metal” in the name). It’s just a lot more shiny than I like

–Bought: By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon. It is AMAZING. I have a hard time with cream eye shadows because I have oily lids. They all move. Except this one. And the color is gorgeous!
–Disappointing: Batiste Dry Shampoo in Dark Brown. This may work for someone with both dark brown hair AND dark brown skin (and dark brown clothing and furniture and towels).

Last beauty product I bought: The Korres Glazed & Glossed Lip Butter Glaze Collection, cause it’s on sale at Sephora and I have really enjoyed the 2 Korres lip butters I have.
Last beauty product I was disappointed in: Nivea lip balm in olive oil and lemon. It smelled and tasted like super strong perfume. And not the good kind.

That is the first foundation I have ever bought that is fair enough for me to not mix-a little white might help, but is not absolutely necessary (as in leaving it as is will not frighten others with tone differences).
Last beauty product you were disappointed with? Kat Von D Beethoven palette. To be fair, it came broken, but the pigmentation was so terrible, I would not have kept it anyway.

Thank you! And an update. 🙂 I have been pouring over your blog and I tried patting on the Lhasa, and I wore it to work. I recently moved and you know how lighting is everything? Inside the house, it’s ok. Serviceable. I hopped in my car and during the drive, I flipped the visor down (really quick :P) and Whoa! My eyes were a lit taupey loveliness. So now, latest disappointment? I caved in and tried NYX Mega Shine gloss. I can say that they don’t leave my lips crispy, which is pretty good since so far, only BB and MAC works for me, but my lips are too heavily pigmented and unless I try other colors, it’s a no go. I tried Smokey Look, Naturel, and Sweet Heart. I don’t like the formulation enough to keep trying, so I’m just going to get some new MAC and BB. I am out. Completely out! I’m out of most everything and what I have now, is so old that I have to try everything again. Even my BB shadows are in the round shape. My wallet is going to be crying soon. This is such fun, thank you. It’s been so long since I have bought things that even your posts from 2009 are working for me! 😛 I don’t even have old MAC neutrals that I don’t use enough, or a single UD Naked. You should see me with the list I have going. I need a little vial to collect The Tears I Have Shed for LEs I Have Missed—all new finds for me, that are sometimes years passed. Oh, how I coveted the EL Violet Underground, the Dior Bonne Étoile, the Guerlain Turandot…………. I need a tissue again.

Finished: Garnier BB Cream.
Bought: Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light. I never got to try the “original”, but I really like this one!
Disappointed: Kat Von D Spellbinding; great formula, quality is there, but I expected more from the colors themselves… The shades are too subtle, and while I do like subtle eye looks, I have more than enough neutrals to fill that need. When I wear color, I want more vibrancy. However, if I pair it with other products, it works out okay…
Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream; I don’t need much coverage, but this is *none*! However, it’s HG as a primer for long-wearing foundations, such as Revlon ColorStay.
tarte Exposed; at least I didn’t pay actual money for it. Again, great formula, beautiful color in the pan, but too bright/pink for my tastes.

Just can fyi, I have had this issue with every stila smudge stick that I own. Don’t fret, you just need to push up and twist on the end. It’s worth the trouble, they are the best eyeliner I own!

Last beauty product you finished? – My moisturiser, which was really horrifying because it’s an Indian brand and I can’t get it over here. Luckily I had backups of it in my boyfriend’s house, but I had to wait a week or so to get it while my skin went unmoisturised.
Last beauty product you bought? – I ordered the new Blush by 3 palettes from Sleek as well as the Garden of Eden eyeshadow palette. I’m waiting for them to arrive sometime today. I also bought a bunch of products at the pharmacies – I went there to get just a couple of backups (really, replacements for HG products I gave away to friends and family) and ended up spending way more than I wanted to.
Last beauty product you were disappointed with? – I bought a mini brush kit from Boots and the biggest (cheek/face) brush turned out to be really scratchy. I always have bad luck with brushes!

Last beauty product I was disappointed with: Rimmel London BB cream in Light, although my skin is quite light, this shade is way too light for me and the BB cream just glided down my face after a couple of hours.

Last beauty product you finished? Jane Iredale PurePressed Base mineral foundation. It seems to be the only makeup product I ever finish. I only have one or two more uses out of my Lancome Bi-Facil, though, so that will be next.

Last beauty product you were disappointed with? Marc Jacobs Lovemarc Lip Gel in Have We Met? For some reason the shimmer made it turn into a very obvious frost on me and combined with the light pink shade it looked so dated. Like early 90s frosted pink. Also, the formula wasn’t moisturizing at all like I expected. In fact it felt drying and seemed to suck the moisture out of my lips making them look cracked and crinkled.
