Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Your skin tone/coloring: Below my name

What do you use to wash your brushes? Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap unscented except I use the bar soap version for foundation brushes. If the foundation isn’t coming out easily, I will rub the brush with baby oil and then soap it up again or occasionally use Cinema Secrets followed by the soap bar.

How often do you wash your brushes? About every two weeks, sometimes more often. I hate seeing a dirty brush so I probably wash the white ones more often.

How do you store your brushes? For brushes I use regularly, standing up in glass candle holders from a dollar store. Duplicates and brushes not used often are flat in a box in a drawer of my vanity.

Skin tone is neutral light combination old.
I wash my makeup brushes about once a week with CeraVe bar soap. The ones with natural hairs will get an occasional conditioner. My paint brushes get washed with old masters brush soap. Lol
The brushes I use often are stored upright in pencil/pen cups. Double brushes in a drawer, brushes used less often in another drawer.

What do you use to wash your brushes?
Castile soap in bar or liquid. For stubborn bits I use daiso puff and sponge.

How often do you wash your brushes?
I try to wash weekly, and I tend to wash my foundation brush daily.

How do you store your brushes
‘used’ brushes upright in a old candle jar. Fresh brushes in a drawer.

What do you use to wash your brushes? baby shampoo, Dr. Bronner’s (the peppermint one) or, more recently and my favourite – Quo (Shoppers Drug Mart house brand) Solid Brush Cleaner
How often do you wash your brushes? In truth, not very often!
How do you store your brushes? I have a few empty Godiva chocolate boxes and a few of those office pen/pencil holder things to hold them. Basically, it’s organized chaos! The double ended ones, which I like in theory, present more of a problem.

My skin tone/coloring is cool, very fair to fair, with neutral undertone
I wash my brushes with Dawn detergent. If I have really sticky pigment like WP eyeliner on a brush, I soak it in eye makeup remover oil based product first, then Dawn soap.
I wash brushes weekly if I have the time and sometimes this gets delayed but never less than monthly–if a brush looks REALLY grungey I wash it right away and let it dry over the day. I have spare brushes so if I don’t have time to wash daily and brushes look nasty then I have a container they get moved to until I wash on the weekend–usually on Sunday.
I store my brushes in customized containers I purchased from Etsy and the extras go in a makeup drawer.

What do you use to wash your brushes? Whatever solid brush cleanser I can get for cheap or free, lol.

How often do you wash your brushes? Not often enough… every couple months? Sometimes less often, i’m ashamed to say.

How do you store your brushes? They all stand on their handles in a tall acrylic organizer with three sections: one for larger face brushes, one for smaller face brushes, and one for eyeshadow brushes.

What do you use to wash your brushes? I like to use Dr Bronners or dishwashing soap for sponges, this soap works for me for flat brushes, I use with cream foundations, lipsticks. Cheap baby shampoo for natural hair brushes, makeup removing solid cleanser for the rest. I use Makeup Revolution solid cleanser mainly on syntetchics. When I just want to disinfect, I have a cheap brush cleansing spray and Cinema Secret liquid.
How often do you wash your brushes? Depends, but usually a big deep clean every 3rd week, in between i use sprays or Cinema Secret liquid.
How do you store your brushes? i store the most used ones in jars, the rest in a box

What do you use to wash your brushes? Either shampoo or a foaming face cleanser

How often do you wash your brushes? About once a month. Every few days if I use them for cream products, but that is very rare

How do you store your brushes? In a mug sitting on my dresser

What do you use to wash your brushes? Either Cinema Secrets (both for deep cleaning brushes that I use for cream and liquid products, so they dont get gunky), and also spot cleaning, very handy if you hoard brushes like me. I also like bar soap (Dove), and the ShopMissA Solid Brush/Blender Cleanser.
How often do you wash your brushes? It depends on useage.. but every 2wks-1mo… in between that Ill use the Cinema Secrets in a spray bottle and cleanse on a towel. If a foundation/concealer/cream contour brush gets too dirty Ill do the dip method with the CS, but only if not many brushes are dirty…
How do you store your brushes? Theyre in clear glass jars filled with small marbles that I bought from Michaels, separated by catagory (foundation, concealer, blush, highlight, bronze, powder, contour, etc) is on 1 cart… the other has eye brushes (small crease brushes, blending brushes, smudge brushes, liner brushes, lid brushes aka packing brushes, brows, detail brushes….)
