Probably the eye shadow palette my friend brought back for me when she went to america on a trip after I wasn’t able to go. It meant so much to me that she thought about me even though I was on the opposite side of the world.
or the Tom Ford lippies that a lovely lady I know got for me after she found out I loved makeup and that I was going through a tough time. I was so shocked at her kindness even though she barely knew me! She made me realise that makeup doesn’t just make you look good on the outside, it can make you feel good on the inside too.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given?
The eyeshadow palette I got my friend (who also loves makeup but she’s going through some money troubles which mean she barely has enough money to pay her rent let alone buy herself makeup) It wasn’t anything big or special but she proper burst into tears and everything! Her reaction has led me to give more unused/unopened makeup to people less fortunate than me so they can experience the joy that makeup gives me for themselves.

Favorite beauty gift you’ve received? The Urban Decay Urban Spectrum and Vice 4 palettes my hubby got me for my birthday this year. UD Spectrum came out early and I hadn’t the budget to get both, so my hubby just volunteered to get them both for me for my birthday. It was the first time done something that, and I was touched. I love both palettes, too.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given? One year we gave my older son’s teacher at his day treatment a gift basket that I made with lots of self-pampering and beauty items, and a card thanking her for helping our son. My son gave it to her. She tracked us down at the school holiday party and tearfully thanked my husband and I. In her many years of teaching special ed and working with the most difficult of mentally disturbed children, we were the first family to ever give her a gift. She was so happy to just be appreciated and know she made a difference.

Favorite beauty gift you’ve received? I’ve never actually gotten a lot of beauty gifts, but my mom did get me a mini-set of Chanel perfumes once. I rarely wear perfume, so I really need to dig that out and get to using it!
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given? I think for Christmas I’m going to get my mom one of the new Bobbi Brown Luxe lipsticks. She’s one of those one-brand gals, and Bobbi is it!
Top product on your wish list this year? I didn’t send a beauty wishlist to anyone, I just asked for Sephora and MAC gift cards. If I do get them, I’ll probably get the May Coop Raw Sauce (I used a sample and LOVED it on my dry, extremely sensitive skin), the MAC Mineralize foundation (in the compact, I have the liquid and I love it but it’s not quite enough coverage right now), or the MAC Warm Neutral x15

Skintone/Coloring: Fairly light, very neutral; dark-featured.
Received: Noone buys me beauty-related gifts… Between how much I own, and the fact I tend to buy everything I want on my own, noone ever knows what to get me, LOL!
Given: My 9-year-old has been obsessed with Bath & Body Works for a while, so after finally deciding she was old enough for “grownup” bath products, I promised to buy her a shower gel, lotion, & body spray. By the time I got around to purchasing what she wanted, I stumbled on a B3G3, plus $10 off, so I let her pick out a second “trio”. She also asked for an Olaf humidifier for Christmas, so “Santa” will be bringing that… I thought she wanted it because she likes the character, but she actually told me that humidifiers were good for the skin, LOL!
Top Product: Again, I buy what I want pretty much immediately, but I wouldn’t mind about 6 large NARS customizable palettes so I can depot my eyeshadows. As much as it’s something I really want to do, I can’t justify spending the money on empty palettes right now, as the cost would be over $100 for empty cardboard…

Your skin tone/coloring: Fairest neutral. Experimenting with a few different foundation mixes but generally using Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Snow, Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in N10, Barry M Foundation Crème in 1 (white) and a light moisturiser- but not all at once!

I can’t think of much because no one has really bought me beauty products. I’ll go for when my brother bought me a NARS lipgloss one Christmas. It was completely unexpected and he chose it himself!

It has to be when I bought my Mum a Lancôme moisturiser set (day cream and night cream). I liked hem myself but they are too rich for my skin. She loves them and they have worked well for her. I like to get useful and practical gifts. 🙂

I don’t have one. I tend to have one obsession at a time and for now I’m back to music. It’s always really been music for me, more so than makeup and beauty. I love makeup and I am very passionate about it but I have times where buying anything I don’t need doesn’t interest me in the slightest. Now is one of those times. I don’t currently need anything therefore I have no list!

Favorite beauty gift you’ve received? I’ve only ever really gotten gift cards for beauty stuff, unless I’m shopping with them, as no one I know likes makeup or knows what to get me.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given? Since no one I know likes makeup, I’ve only ever passed on products, not gifted them. The closest I’ve ever gotten to given beauty stuff was buying some skincare stuff for my sister when she was having really bad skin issues.

Favourite beauty gift received: Well, I usually get one of my sons to buy me an eye shadow palette for either my birthday or Christmas. So it was Charlotte Tilbury’s the Rebel and Dior’s Jardin last year. This year is was the bareMinerals the Exotic Escape for my birthday and Naked 2 (finally) for Christmas.
Favourite beauty gift given: No-one I know is into makeup like me, so I tend to give bath and body products instead. I gave my closest girl friend a set of L’Occitane hand creams this year. It is a great set and a lovely product.
Top Product on my wishlist: It would have to be the bareMinerals Soft and Smoky eye palette. Just waiting for it to come on an International friendly beauty site.

Favorite gift I’ve received: I usually just buy myself the lipsticks I want but my mom gave me the free bite for vib rouge lipstick that was a rouge reward a few years ago and it’s one of my favorite reds so that was nice
Favorite gift I’ve given: last Christmas I bought my mom the original naked palette and she loves it, and she’s super hard to shop for, so it’s a good feeling to get the right thing. I also just gave my two best friends their Christmas presents: NARS Deborah and too faced melted rainbow, respectively. And they liked them 🙂
Top product on your wish list: I’ve had my eye on the kat von d my vida loca lip set for a while. I also want the pantone blue lipstick and some of the new occ lip tars (that grayish purple is gorgeous)

Does gifting to myself count?Because nobody has gifted me any beauty goodies yet this year! If so, I’m still saying Bare Minerals The Soft & Smoky. Perfect. I don’t need to pull in any more ,love the shades. Day to night. No primer needed. Very travel friendly sizewise. The packaging is so cool to boot. I love this. So, thankful to Christine for reviewing it. Knew it had to be mine when I saw it! 🙂
Favorite beauty gift that I have given: Last year I gave my niece the UD Vice palette. She already has alot of the “good” popular palettes this year. So, I decided to get her the Stila “Sending My Love” set. She’s interning at a law firm and its a perfect polished face in a box.
Top of my wishlist: Chanel Tisse Gabrielle. I’ve wanted that quad forever and keep putting it off for all the newbies. I need to get it before more spring arrivals!

Favorite beauty gift you’ve received? Hmmm… since my husband is the only person who will willingly gives me beauty items, and because I purchase all of my own presents from him, it’s difficult for me to remember what I’ve given him to wrap for me and what I’ve just opened as soon as I’ve received it. I’m pretty sure he “gave” me the Vice 4 last year and, since it’s the only Vice palette I own, I would say it was my favorite gift.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given? I don’t remember the shade, but it was a MUFE lipstick that my youngest daughter wanted. I gave it to her last Christmas and she still talks about how much she loves the color.

Top product on your wish list this year?: Giorgio Armani Rouge Ectasy Lipstick. mostly because I love their Ectasy Lip Lacquer and Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette or all of Zoeva Makeup Line in general.
Maybe I’m alone on this one. I never buy beauty products or perfume for others and actually do not want others to buy for me either. I think tastes are very personal. Most the women I know in my area are not remotely interested in fashion and makeup the way I am. I’m a bit of an anomaly within my group of friends and relatives.
That being said: I just did my semi-annual round-up of clothing, accessories, and little used or not at all used beauty items which I donate to one of our letter carriers. She knows families that want and love to have the things. I donate really good quality stuff and it just pleases the hell out of me to know someone else will get use of things which have filtered through my short attention span.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve received? The Naked 3 was coming to mind, particularly because I wasn’t anticipating my family to hunt it down, and it had been sold out of a lot of places when it launched. And very special perfumes from my Mom and aunt.
Favorite beauty gift you’ve given? I love gifting my Mom fragrance, and she was really happy when I got her Tom Ford Black Orchid last year for her birthday- she kept getting samples of it before I got her a bottle 🙂
