Summer Makeup: Day at the Beach

Summer Makeup:   Day at the Beach

There’s something about this look that reminds me of the beach, yet it’s not exactly beach colors.  Oh, well! I wonder if it’s totally obvious that I love me some chartreuse green…  Happy Monday!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply Sour Lemon eyeshadow on the lower lid. Lightly blend Samoa Silk eyeshadow from the lower crease to above the crease with the 239. Next, apply Vibrant Grape eyeshadow into the crease with the 226.  Blend Orb eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone, then lightly tap Femme-fi eyeshadow right beneath the brow for shimmer. Bring everything together by applying Flipside liner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Capricious lipstick first, and then layer Springbean lustreglass for a complementing lip.

This is so beautiful! Bright colors look great on you, Christine 🙂 I was just wondering, do you keep eyeshadow/blush/brush/etc descriptions in a file separately so you dont have to keep typing them & you can just copy and paste? or do you just do it off the top of your head and just type it out?

i like chartreuse too 😉 have you ever done a glossy eye of any kind for one of these looks? just curious – when i think of summertime, for some reason i think of a glossy eye… i do a version of it that’s fairly wearable (dark brown and a LITTLE bit of sparkly gloss). it can look pretty actually.

For a neutral, pretty glossy eye I actually using Aveda products. The gloss I use is their Lip Glaze in “Mango Juice.” It’s a very pretty lipgloss – But not as sticky as MAC’s Lipglass. I use a cream bronzer on the lid and a bronzy/brown/goldish color in the crease. It’s one of those looks that’s REALLY quick to put together.

Hi. It was just a coincidence but I was just looking through Sugarpill cosmetics and now you juz posted a look where all their colors are used in it. Wicked look btw. Love the natural juicy lips look.

I love this look! I really need to go and purchase Vibrant Grape! I keep going to MAC and buying all different shades of purple (purple eyeshadow is my favorite!) but i keep forgetting vibrant grape 🙁 haha

Chartreuse is such an awesome color. I love anything in that color! This is beautiful. LOVE.
And I like that you used springbean.

this is such a happy look!

Yay! I’ve said this before but I love when you play with color placement on your lids! 😀
Its easier for me to see looks on myself when you place the colors differently, especially since you’re so comfortable going bold which I just can’t pull off for everyday!

This makeup inspired me! Tomorrow is the first game of Brazil on World Cup and I’ll use something like your eyes on this post.

Beautiful look! Absolutely stunning! Though I can’t pull this off and I probably wouldn’t put yellow under the lash line, I think everything on the lid is just beautiful. ^^

Call me crazy or just patriotic – but this is a very Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI! kinda look – the green and gold. You can tell I’ve been watching a lot of the World Cup… 🙂

what other brands have yellow eyeshadow ? I would prefer for it to not be matte , because I kinda hate the texture of matte eyeshadows

It’s like a sunset at the beach! Or like, a beach towel, laying out in the hot sun. Let’s just say it’s an Abstract Impressionist version of the beach! 😀

this picture really shows what i’ve always thought. your irises look like a spooky forest with creepy trees that wrap around your pupils. in a really good way of course lol.

Girrrrrl, I’m loving all of these crazy awesome summer combinations you’re doing. I can’t wait to try them. Thanks for the ideas!!

It’s crazy how samoa silk looks super orange on me and it’s this beautiful peach color on you. (yes, i’m pale.) I would have loved to have seen motif in the inner tear duct area! Great look nonetheless 🙂

Hilana Avatar

You look really great in these colours Christine!
Not a look I would try for myself because I think this tends to look good only on the very young and should not be attempted by anyone over the age of 30.
Smashing. Love it! 🙂

Brenda Avatar

This is fun!! I’m not sure why, but it reminds me of a friend that races Superbike LOL!! Maybe the bright yellows/greens and pinky oranges.
