Summer 2008 - Jo Malone - The Kohdo Wood Collection
The Kohdo Wood Collection
The World of Jo Malone introduces the Kohdo Wood Collection, two captivating fragrances created as a modern interpretation of an ancient Asian tradition. These two new Eastern scents are inspired by the ancient Japanese incense ceremony of Kohdo where emotions are influenced according to the different nature of scents. The invigorating fragrance of Lotus Blossom & Water Lily – Kohdo Wood Day, is designed to wake the senses and energise the soul, while Dark Amber & Ginger Lily – Kohdo Wood Night, is a sensual and calming blend that encourages tranquillity.
To feel refreshed and invigorated, surround yourself with the scent of Lotus Blossom & Water Lily. The blend of mandarin, sacred lotus blossom, bamboo and aloeswood will encourage energy, inspire confidence and focus the mind. With an energetic and confident nature this scent is perfect to use throughout the day.
At the end of the day, to encourage a feeling of calm and tranquillity, the sensual nature of Dark Amber & Ginger Lily is perfect for relaxation as day turns to night. The combination of black cardamom, orchid and Kyara Wood has been designed to cleanse the senses, encourage calm, relaxation and positive thoughts.

Have you used any Jo Malone fragrances? What are your top picks?
Oh, this sounds great. I’ve never tried anything by this brand, but the descriptions are tantalizing. Unfortunately, I can’t afford to spend any money at the moment.
Beauty addict on a budget. It’s a miserable thing.
It’s almost impossible to be a beauty addict on a budget, isn’t it? 😉
First of all, Sarah, I feel for you, there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope your beauty budgeting is short-lived. =)
Ok, now to business, I haven’t heard of this brand before, but their products sound great. I might have to look into this. I love their sleek look too.
I love Jo Malone fragrances, and have several. I actually received a sample of these two new fragrances, and I really think they are both interesting. They don’t really smell like aynthing else out there right now. My favorites from Jo Malone are Honeysuckle Jasmine, Amber Lavendar, and Pomegranate Noir. I tend the buy the smaller bottles, and use them interchangeably depending on my mood. I did love the Amber Lavendar so much that I went back and bought the lotion and shower gel. Great product line!!
Thanks for sharing your experiences, Rabi! I’m glad you were able to check out some samples 😀
I love Jo Malone and have a few of the fragrances. Nectarine Blossom and Honey is gorgeous layered over Pomegranate Noir. White Jasmine and Mint is beautiful and unique but a little fleeting and Red Roses is the purest rose perfume I own.
I’ve never thought about layering my perfumes, actually. Thanks for the tip, Jude!
