Stila's Summer Collection: Charmed Palette Sneak Peek
Stila’s Summer Collection features a stunning quad, the Charmed palette ($28.00), which I am sure instantly created some temptation! The colors featured in the palette are a mid-tone copper, warm gold, intense teal, and deep burgundy.
The color themselves are quite lovely, as they swatch well with rich pigmentation. I’d describe the colors more of a coppery-pink, warm coppery-gold, teal with green undertones, and a brown-burgundy. The texture is smooth and silky, easily blending into the skin and no fall out problems.
The only issue I had with the palette was the packaging itself. The gold coloring and the detailing on the outside was beautiful, but it feels like it’s all cardboard. The clear part (where you can see the shadows) is super thin plastic–like what you might find on top of shadows. I’d have preferred something more durable. Otherwise, this palette is superb, and it is totally worth $28!
See close-ups and swatches…
Wow you werent kidding about the pigmentation, its gorgeous. I wasnt planning on buying this pallete but now im convinced to get it and play around with the colors. It looks perfect for summer
Thanks for the review =)
🙂 Nope, not kidding!
Let me know if you get it, Natalia!
Oh wow I’m definitely gonna get this palette. I was debating whether I should purchase it when I first saw the product photos but now I’m sure about it. Thanks for the swatches 🙂
No problem, Kayc 😀
Ooh. The warm gold and teal are both pretty!
They are 🙂 Any chance you’ll pick one of these up?
The purple shadow swatches much darker that it looks! But all the colors are so pretty, I may have to buy this as my first venture in to Stila.
Ooh, it will be a good way to get into Stila 🙂
I’m sure I’m not the only one who is hoping you might do a look with these shadows! They look gorgeous swatched at the very least!
I’ll sure try!
I feel like we are seeing this cardboard-like packaging more and more. I really dislike it for convenience but especially considering the prices on some of these lines I think it is outrageous that they give us such shoddy packaging. I think it’s really a turnoff…at least for me.
Personally, I like the cardboard-y packaging because I tend to break and chip my plastic ones. These have been more durable, even though it feels like they ought not to be…maybe it’s just my luck, though.
Also, it’s nice that paper is a renewable resource and plastic isn’t.
I don’t really mind that it’s cardboard either, though I know some would want to know that upfront so definitely had to mention it!
I didn’t like the thin sheet of plastic on the cover — that felt cheap and flimsy 🙁
The cardboard itself doesn’t really bother me one way or the other (plastic = cardboard in my book in terms of quality), but the thin plastic part bugged me!
Looks beautiful!!!!! Thanks!!!!
No problem, Yarid!
sooo getting this! i am loving the stila spring palette so this looks amazing for some dramatic looks for summer !
Yayy! Glad you like it, Grace!
Mind-blowingly pretty! Can’t wait to get one of these!
You’ll love it, Sasha!
AMAZING PIGMENTATION!
YES, true story!
stila usually doesnt interest me but im definatly getting this quad!!!:)
I definitely feel like Stila has been upping the ante lately!
Oh man… that’s gorgeous! I wasn’t very impressed at first, but now I’m definitely gonna have to go take a look when it hits Sephora!
Oh, definitely give it a glance when it’s available at your local Sephora, Catherine! Hopefully you’ll be as impressed as I was 😀
I’m wondering if these colors are similar to anything from their permanent line?
I don’t know Stila’s permanent line very well unfortunately, so I can’t help you out in that area!
Lovely palette. The designs on the bottom look a lot like
Yeah, I definitely think the design may have been inspired by that 🙂
Definitely. The collection is called Indian Summer. 🙂 The bindis are on the lipglosses too. Sooo pretty.
Ohhh it’s pretty!
🙂 They really did a great job of putting colors that popped!
Hi Christine, is the pink in this palette similar to French Cuff from the MAC BBR collection?
Hmm, it’s probably a lil’ pinker, but they’re similar!
Wow! The pigmentation on these is just as rich as you said. They are gorgeous. I really see them being ideal for summer. i can already picture some looks in my mind i would love to try with them. can’t wait to purchase this palette. Christine – do you know when this item will become available for purchase?
This should be available in May, Nicole! I’d say you may even see it online as soon as April 🙂
I’m not fond of coppers but the other 3 colours are too gorgeous to pass up, especially that purple – they are on the list!
Hopefully you can find a way to love the copper one, too 😉
These colors are amazing. I didn’t plan on buying this palette but after seeing the swatches I’m very tempted!!!
You’ll have to let us know if you give into temptation, Megan 😉
Christine, can you please let us know what are the MAC dupes for these? Roughly?
Thanks so much!!!!
Expensive Pink, Amber Lights, Shimmermoss, and maybe Contrast/Shadowy Lady!
It just looked so-so before but after seeing the swatches it looks like a great buy! Only if it wasn’t so much.
I think it’s a pretty good buy, actually. I believe MAC quads are up to $34 a pop now!
this colors are GORGEOUS! but they look a bit glittery like the urban decay wallpaper pallet and the bax i am personally not a fan or cardboard.
They do feel similar to the UD shadows, so I imagine if you aren’t a fan of shimmery shadows, these aren’t for you!
stila packaging is a huge turn-off.
What don’t you like about it?
This is drool worthy, especially loving the teal and burgundy. Though I know I can’t wear teal as I tend towards warmer colours. Any tips to overcome this?
Can you warm up teal by putting gold over it?
You definitely could! Though it would change the color a bit. I’d probably try layering it with a warmer green base.
You could try wearing a warmer green underneath the teal to brighten it!
Oh I love these, I am dying to get this palette. Thanks for
sharing!!!!
My pleasure, girl!
I hope this goes to beautycrunch eventually. I love the colors but wouldn’t use them often enough to justify purchasing it now.
I hope it does for you, Tanya!
Oeh. That gold-ish color is so pretty
Agreed, Mikki!
this is just beautiful!!!! i wonder if it blends well…
I’ve always found Stila shadows to blend well!
These colors have great pay offs.
Agreed 😀
This looks stunning and the packaging very elegant.
I’m definitely buying !
Nice! I hope you love it, Violette!
In the palette the colors didn’t look so appealing but now that you swatched it really does! Do you know if the $10 dollar deal is also in stores?
It will be $10 in stores on the 18th at Sephoras 🙂
Cool! I’ve always wanted to try this palette, & the $10.00 price is a very good steal. Thank you so much for the heads-up. : )
Sure thing, Charisse!
GORGEOUS! I’ve wanted this ever since I first saw the summer previews. My CP gal snagged one of the $10 ones for me so I am super excited. 😀 Although, she said some of the Sephoras are telling her they’re not going to carry the rest of the collection (already on the Stila site)? That’s really weird if Sephora won’t sell the rest of it. Do you have any idea if that’s true or not?
Glad you managed to score the $10 palette, Skyler 😀
I don’t think this is true… I haven’t heard this from Stila!
