Stila Eye for Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Set ($45.00 for 0.42 oz.) includes six shades of liquid eyeshadow with three shades being part of the Shimmer & Glow finish and three from the Glitter & Glow finish.

First Impressions

Only one of the shades is a shade I’m familiar with–Smoldering Satin–so I don’t have too much food for thought at the moment. Peachy Sheen ran sheer and would definitely be better for adding glitter on top of something else rather than attempting to build it up (which does not always go well in this formula due to the amount of glitter). The three Shimmer & Glow shades seemed fairly pigmented and smooth, and they have more of a pearly-to-metallic finish so I am curious how well they’ll sit on the lid but haven’t had the chance to try them yet.

I grabbed both of the mini sets of the liquid glitter/metals from Stila. I don’t own any of the others due to not being able to decide which color to get. So I was really happy to see this (and the other) set. I really wish they had tiny versions like this permanent b/c the chances of me going through the regular size is slim.

I am interested to see how they hold up against the Black Moon Cosmetics Cosmic Eyedust & the Wet n’ Wild Midnight Mermaid liquid glitter eyeshadows because in both of those formulas the glitter stays put. Once it’s on it’s on and doesn’t migrate. But the Stila’s are probably more everyday friendly b/c no matter how you use the BMCs or WnW you’ll always end up with a dark smokey eye b/c they both have a black base.

The holiday releases have been pretty repetitive this year as always but this was the set (and the other one Stila released) that excited me most from all the Holiday releases! I have Smoldering Satin and it’s a fav of mine! I’m happy they did a mini set! Hoping the quality is as good as the larger ones! I haven’t tested yet so keeping fingers crossed!

I believe that I have 3 of these and find that I use them only for shadow toppers as they have too sheer a base for me to use alone. I have very hooded lids and these take a while to dry down on me so I usually get impatient and blink and transfer the glitter. Having said that, I really do like them for that specific purpose. I have Smoldering Satin, Kitten and Diamond and they are all beautiful.

I’m interested to see how the Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows wear because your swatches of them look pretty good!I love the formula of the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow.I own all the full size ones including these 2 Smoldering Satin and Next To Notte so I wasn’t going to buy this set but if they review well I may have to purchase it just for those.

There are eye safe glitters on the market thankfully, but the fact they still sell nail glitter that is metal bothers me greatly. 🙁 Stop that brands….

There also a number of brands that sell cosmetic glitter that has not been rounded compared to eye safe ones for the eyes that pisses me off but they still sell them for the eyes even though they say they are not eye-safe. It’s the same plastic but the eye safe ones have no straight edges that come to a point. It’s the reason I own so many Lit Cosmetic and EyeKandy glitters.

The non-glitter ones look fabulous and richly pigmented. However, I’m not a fan of chunky glitter on or near my eyes, so these are a no-go for moi on mostly that factor alone. Add to that that my tears are akin to Alien blood and eat right through liquid eyeshadow and even liner like nobody’s business, and these would just make me look like a deranged, drunken Alien!

I couldn’t wait and got these today I use the glitters over shadow I pat them on my partially hooded lids and they don’t move after they dry.
The purple glitter is really pigmented.

I’ve only swatched them but they are so pretty.

Wow, this is an interesting set! Nice mix of colors, finishes, from sheer to opaque, from metallic to glitter. I didn’t want to buy the full size as they are $24 each, but minis are perfect. I will put this on my wishlist
