Aww, the NARS Virtual Domination blush palette is so disappointing 🙁
It is! 🙁 I bought last years set and I’m kinda bummed there are only 5 vs 6. Laguna and deep throat are repeats, miss liberty looks like more of a sparkly mess than devotee, and the last 2 colors are very “summer” like someone else mentioned. They have so many blushes, why do they constantly have so much overlap in their palettes?
Agreed! So disappointing and I was thinking summer too. Nars has so many nice blushes and deep throat and Laguna are everywhere..I’m surprised they didn’t throw in orgasm too!,:)

I like the blush palette, but I’m not sure about Laguna. Laguna is not as orange and dark as I thought it would be; it’s more golden. I’ve always avoided trying it out. Would it work on fair skin?
Hey, Rachel! Thought I would share my experience… I think it depends on your undertones, & how you want to use this! I am super pale & very cool-toned…on me, Laguna looks like orange mud. Like horrible. I gave it to my sister, who is also very fair, but has warm, golden undertones. On her, it looks more like a blush–I would say definitely too dark for all over color, but on her, it looked good on her cheeks as a bronzy blush, with a lighter color above it. Hope this helps!
Thank you, Julie. I’m very fair, neutral undertone. My face and neck do go slightly gold in the summer. That’s why I was thinking if it stayed gold, I would use it more like your sister does. I don’t really do the all over face color.
If you’re looking for a contour product, then you can pass on Laguna. If you’re looking for an actual bronzer, Laguna could work. I’m fair-light, with a neutral undertone, and Laguna doesn’t pull orange on me. It’s buildable, so you don’t have to worry about going to heavy!
Thank you, Amy. I didn’t think this would work as a contour color; thanks for confirming. I don’t do all over strong bronzer, either. I would, however use as cheek color and maybe hit a couple other spots lightly. It does sound like it’s sheer enough. My face and neck go just slightly gold in the summer, so if this stays golden on me, I could use it.
Mainly, I was considering whether to get the Virtual Domination Blush Palette, and if I did, would I get any use out Laguna. I realize it’s a good deal just for the blushes & highlighter, but I’m an over-researcher and kind of frugal. I hate the idea of paying for a big pan of something I’d never use.
How is the bars virtual domination pallete? I only have Nars Orgasm so it would be nice to add these colors to my collection with this pallete. I’ve always wanted Laguna!!

Loving the lip pencil set. I already have a full and mini Cruella so I’ll gift that one to a friend (though I love it!). This is slightly OT but I got the new Luminous powder foundation from NARS (appears to be the same packaging as Algorithim Laguna without the LE print) and it is absolutely gorgeous.

The Dolce Vita lipgloss looks really nice! That’s about all that grabs me from this release. I’m fine with that, considering the price tags 😡

Why the lip pencils are still in a pencil form instead of a twisting mechanism…. For product of this price range, I don’t really want to waste much in the sharpening process. Marc Jacobs is doing great in their package which creates no waste, and the product doesn’t get too short to use when it comes to the end of its life.
Well, at least they’re switching it up a bit with the blushes that they’re putting in the palettes. For a while there, I think Orgasm was in every single palette. I’m getting sick of seeing Laguna as the bronzer in every palette that Nars produces, though. It would be nice if they had a little variation.
Looks like I’m saving money. I was interested in the blush palette and lip pencil set. The pencils aren’t colors that I can wear or pull off, but the blush palette is really disappointing.
Is the roman holiday blush full size or mini? Thanks!
Christine–can you comment at all on the quality of the NARS kabuki brush set? I wonder if they lack quality because they are a holiday set like the MAC holidays sets. Please let me know! Thanks
so disappointed 🙁 more laguna Nars…seriously !? I was so excited about the blush palette and the lip pencil set but …the blushes don’t have enough color variety and even if Yu and Cruella are amazing I don’t really understand why including Descanso and Torres del Paine that look almost identical! Sadly I’ll pass!
Interesting, I don’t really like any of these. I like three out of five of the lipstick pencils, but not enough to buy the set.
Money saved for all the other stuff I think I need and know I want 🙂

I love the Roman Holiday sets! NARS’ sheer lipstick formula is one of my favorites.
Okay wow, I’m impressed! I love the lip set and I really would like to get my hands on the blush palette since it doesn’t contain Orgasm, Sin & Albatros, which are the Nars cheek products I already own.
I want the Algorithm palette, mainlynfor the baby Ita, LOL! I may also invest in the brush set…
Ohh the Dolce Vita lipgloss looks gorgeous! I’m not a big fan of lip gloss, but the Dolce Vita lipstick is one of my all-time favorites. May need to make an exception!
The lip pencil set is definitely on my radar as I have been wanting to try them out!

There are several good pieces in this collection. I like the lip pencils and glosses. And if the quality is good I’m getting the Kabuki brush set!
Love the lip pencil sets even though I already own Cruella and Yu.if these fare well in review compared to the permanent line,definitely a must-have for me. Downside to these pencils is that they go quick if you love the color(sharpening). But ,they are so easy to use and it’s a lip liner and stick in one . I’m eyeing the Roman Holiday set and possibly Laser cut. Awaiting Review plus I haven’t looked at the prices yet!Thanks Christine. Finding your blog has definitely spurred some purchases ..none that I regret though. Your honesty and swatches have saved my hard earned dollars too from being wasted.I saw some sets from Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier in Nordstrom. Do u plan to review those? I’m looking to get a nice,simple,quality set for my mom. If not,do you recommend anything ? She is 65 and needs simple,flattering colors that require low makeup skill:)

wow i really thought i would like the blush palette, but the highlighter looks like it has more sparkle than anything else. and 2 of the blushes from the final cut collection are so light. i was hoping the formula would be diff. i got the other 2 from that set and found them so powdery i returned them. i do however like the pkg on the bronzer, might splurge on that
Your lips are INSANE. Dozens of products on/off EVERY day.. And you look like.. That.. Maybe a new book, color Christine, would sell.. Haha 🙂 Oh, how is your skin? Any dark marks or texture differences? How did you move past them other than very slowly? Lol.. Whst I’m doing is fabulous but he one side that exploded.. I see a long time before its fine w/o makeup.
Another thing. You’ve got it & don’t flaunt it or ever give dishonest words. Please celebrate thst about you! I’m humbled, losing respect for drama queens on YouTube. This may sound strange but.. You are going to go so far in the industry, and I’ll be happy to say I remember when.. (No joke.) Changes coming soon or are already with you to affirm this..

I didn’t have any dark spots when I had more skin issues! I was very lucky not to scar easily on my face!
Is it just me or does the DV gloss look pinker and cooler than normal? I mean even more than the reformulated version!
I think I may grab the Digital Lip Pencil set. Haven’t tried out NARS lip pencils yet and I kind of wanna see what all the hype around Cruella is..
@Diana: the lip pencils are amazing! Butter smooth, great pigmentation. I grabbed last year’s holiday pencils and i loved them! I think I’ll be picking the pencils up too!
