Some of these look more shimmery than a true duochrome but there are some very pretty shades in there!
Steampunk, Ritzy, Havoc are really calling my name!
The pigmentation looks great on some of these! Especially Typhoon and Steampunk. Makeup Geek is doing a good job at a reasonable price. I really love my Vegas palette so maybe I’ll buy a few single shadows soon.
Typhoon – I don’t think I’ve seen anything quite as beautiful and there are a few others that look like real standouts!
I am definitely seeing some pretties here! Typhoon, Steampunk, Voltage, Havoc ( or Ritzy! ) all look awesome! And Secret Garden is what I was hoping ColourPop Bae would turn out as, but Bae is just duochrome micro-glitter, not duochrome shimmer. I look forward to your reviews!
I really like the look of these I may just have to make my first makeup geek purchase. Please forgive this more than stupid question. These come only in a pan meaning no compact, correct? I have to put a magnet on them and then put him inside of a pallet?
Hi Trina,
The MakeupGeek pans already have a magnetic bottom, so all you have to do is pop them into your pallete 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Based on reviews, I’ll probably be picking up Havoc, Ritzy, Steampunk and Karma. A few just look more one toned than a duo chrome IMO….
Hmm, there are some that I wouldn’t really call duchrome, but all of these look really nice! If you wear indi loose shadows, you probably have a ton of these shades in your stash already; I know I have about half of these shades, but having them in the pressed form is more ideal. 🙂
These are all gorgeous, but they don’t seem to be duochromes. I think the term “duochrome” means different colors at different angles – so might look red and one angle and green at another. Something that is say, a red base with green shimmer isn’t, IMO, a duochrome, even though the red may be more visible in some lights and with some types of application, and the green may be visible at other times.
Regardless, they’re gorgeous, and I see a few in my future!
Oh wow, Secret Garden reminds me so much of Urban Decay Lounge! Love it. And Typhoon and Havoc are very pretty too.
It can be such a challenge to capture duo chrome on camera but some of the shades look really promising!
Wow, these are so pretty!! And so well-priced. I’m so glad there’s cheaper alternatives to the NARS Dual Intensity shadows. I will definitely be buying some (maybe most of of this collection), I’m loving the lighter violet and peach shades
Wow, they look pretty impressive, my favourite is Secret Garden!
oh Steampunk, Typhoon, and Secret Garden are gorgeous!
I see a few Urban Decay dupes in there.
Me too 🙂 Unfortunately I bought the UD singles she’s duping. Whomp Whomp. Oh well I still love the ones I don’t own under a UD label and I’m lucky enough to live super close to where her MUG store is going to be! I have a feeling that will be half the most fun ever and half financial ruin.
Steampunk, Voltage, I’m Peachless, Secret Garden and definitely Typhoon are mine!
So beautiful! Mai Tai looks like Nars’ outer limits.
Dark Garden is so gorgeous! Looking forward to your review!
I’m not seeing a duochrome in some. But, it may be because it’s a photo? But , the swatches look good. I still have not bought any MUG. If these do well, I think I may have to make these it! Looking forward to the reviews.
I’m peachless and Prism pigment appear to be the same to me, thoughts?
Also, did you notice much of a difference between Havoc and Ritzy to warrant getting both? I am sure you’ll truly review these soon, but Im impatient!!
Of course everything good comes out when I just started a no-buy… but Typhoon is GORGEOUS! Very curious about Havoc and Ritzy instantly reminds me of something out of The Great Gatsby! 🙂
Do you hear that swooshing sound? That’s me getting sucked into yet another makeup brand! I guess it’s time to raise the white flag and surrender!
Some obviously deserve the name duochrome more than others (a good number just look like shimmers to me) but all the shades are really pretty. Rockstar looks like a great neutral with a twist.
Definitely Rockstar. Didn’t pick it up on my first go, but seeing swatches here.. need.
Typhoon, Ritzy and Voltage are interesting. I always think Duochromes are going to be magically color changing and they never are.
Oooh karma is gorgeous!
the darker colors are beautiful
I don’t know that I’d consider all of these to be “duochrome,” in photographs at least. But there are some very pretty colors here.
Just when I thought I was done with my makeup wishlist for awhile.
Blacklight and Secret Garden are in my wishlist. The looks I could do with those two colors! :3
Just love Typhoon and Secret Garden. What gorgeous colours.
Pretty! This might be my first Makeup Geek purchase…finally!
Rockstar is the same Rockstar, right? Some are clearly more duo than others, though it is tough to capture in photos at times. And, as others have said, more shimmer than glitter. And some are fairly similar, but f’sure, I’m starting my second large MUG Z with some of these bad boys. A couple of MUGs are in with other shadows, but I’d rather have all the MUGs together. Hate it, when I change my mind + org them all by color; still wind up pulling out multiple palettes. And you don’t have to deal with the powder mess that at least I can make with some of those indie duos. They are gorgeous, but i convince myself out of them due to the mess factor. Another score for Marlena + Co. BTW, really liking Barcelona Beach as a crease shade, and High Tea for crease, if you like green looks.
these all look so stunning, especially with that price tag! hopefully they get good grades!
Typhoon is a must have.!!
I already placed an order for some of this duo chrome eyeshadow . Black light, Havoc, Mai Tie, and Voltage . Can’t wait to try em.
I’m loving Mai Tai, I’m peach less, and starstruck. Great options for deeper skin tones IMO
I ordered these the day they were released! I’ve never tried MUG before, and looking at your other reviews of their products I was a little nervous about my impulse buy… but they look really pretty here! So far I’m glad I purchased! fingers crossed they test alright!
Steampunk is such a great shade!
Phantom and Voltage need to be on my inner corner immediately.
Some of these are gorgeous, but of course the “proof in the pudding” is how they apply and wear. I placed my first MUG order a few weeks ago and ended up feeling that the shadows didn’t live up to the hype – but maybe that was impossible since they were SO hyped by most reviewers. I purchased Barcelona Beach, High Tea, Baby Face and Unexpected. I’m really pale and found them to be sheer. I think they’re a pretty good option for the price, but $24 for a quad isn’t all that cheap. You do get a good amount of shadow, though, so it’s a good deal for a shade that is used often. Just my (wordy) two cents!
Wow, I’m in love with Secret Garden and Havoc! I’m Peachless would look so good as a highlighter, especially in the inner corner 🙂
OOOOOOOH, Phantom looks like a dupe for NARS Cassiopeia, which has been on my list forever! Excited to see your reviews on these!
The pics are so helpful! I’ve been watching videos and it’s impossible to see the differences. Blacklight looks so cool!
Ugh, i need all of these in my life.
Hi,
do any of these seem close to mac vanilla pigment?
I think I am just going to forget about hauling palettes and just get a bunch of these. Blacklight reminds me of UD tonic.
Ah! Here we go! This is what I was expecting for the loose pigments! My faith is restored in Makeup Geek!
