Sneak Peek: LORAC Mega Pro 2 Palette Photos & Swatches

LORAC Mega Pro 2 Eyeshadow Palette ($59.00 for 0.45 oz.) is a new, limited edition holiday palette that will be available exclusively at ULTA beginning October 4th. The only repeat shade (technically) is Black. Worth noting is that this year’s palette contains 0.45 oz., whereas last year’s palette contained 0.62 oz. (the price is the same on both palettes); visually, they appear to be the same size, and the pans still line-up, so I can only guess that the pans themselves are shallower or somehow they tweaked the formula to make it fill the same volume with less product. I was surprised to see such a noticeable difference in quantity, given that they otherwise appear to be the same size.

I see it too…1st row down vertically especially. I’m sad because it had potential with goji, the tangerines etc..but I’m just on the fence about this. I mostly like Lorac for their mattes. Feelng kind of “meh”…..

Looks an interesting palette, cooler than the original Pro. Hopefully it’ll be better than the Viseart Cool Matts tho obvs half looks matt and half looks shimmery.

The mattier ( upper 2 rows) vs. shimmer (bottom 2 rows) shows up far better in the enlargement. many of these shades rather disappear, I assume it’s on your arm? This may have better differentiation on pale persons, or they might even contrast with one another better on darker toned skin, that is, if they show up! What looks kind of like shimmer in the mattier shades (smaller pic) might just be skips + drags. I hope that the dedicated website does not replay that fiasco from last year. (I did note that you mentioned Ulta exclusive, not Lorac.) Suspect I’ll spring for this, though I need e/s like i need GERD. It lends itself to light or neutral base shades with a hit of color, and my pro mega, judging by the dips in pans, has gotten a fair amount of love in a year.

This is very pretty, but I do feel like there are too many light colors. I do admire the fact that it has a lot more neutral colors. I think I would use more of the first and last row.

Some of the mattes look dry, the rest look good, some overlap of colors. But Lorac shadows don’t do well on my oily lids –beautiful colors and silky, but they either fallout and/or fade, even with primer.

Just looked back at photos of the first Mega Pro, and I am regretting I didn’t get it. By comparison, these colors are lighter, less rich. This looks like more of a spring palette for those with fair to light skin tones. After struggling so hard with the Naked 3 palette–the colors don’t show up on my lids–I am not comfortable investing in lighter palettes.

I love the more colorful mattes and all of the super-light shimmers! I may have an absurdly-sized collection, but I have hit pan on virtually all of my light eyeshadow colors so far.

There’s something about the shade selections in Lorac’s larger palettes that just puts me off. Here I see many shadows that are so similar swatched that they would be impossible to distinguish on the lid… What’s the point of having a giant palette full of shadows that are dupes for each other? Why don’t they make a more varied color selection, I don’t get it…

I totally agree. There’s no cohesion in this, and if there’s no cohesion, there needs to be contrast, which… there’s not. I had the last mega pro from last year, and it didn’t work well at all. Those 3 things add up to a big “whomp whomp” nope for me.

I’m just going t say it, I’m a palette hoarder by nature I think. My first reaction to every palette is I want! I I wasn’t too impressed with last years honestly and the trouble to get it was ABSURD! But, I bought it prior t it being reviewed. If I am recalling correctly, it was released last minute? I will wait for the review. But, I’m If it reviews well, I’m sure I will spend a god hour trying to figure out where to store this monster. Why so big?! lol

While I really like how well saturated in pigment the top two rows of mattes are, the shimmery ones aren’t turning any lightbulbs on for me at all.
Also, there is that odd issue of the product weight being cut by nearly a third, if I’m not mistaken ? If they did, then BOO on Lorac.

I was allergic to their last MegaPro palette (I was one of the lucky few that got it!) and it made my usually not-sensitive eyes red and scratchy so I ended up gifting it to a friend who didn’t get a reaction.

Skip. -_-;

Way too many light colors, this is such a disappointment. The Lorac Mega Pro is probably my favorite eyeshadow palette in my collection, but I think I’ll be skipping the 2.

I wish Lorac would do singles or a build your own palette system with some of these. At least 8 or 10 colors in here are “never in a million years” for my skintone, and I can’t justify buying a $60 palette that I can’t even try to use all of. But if I could buy Olivine as a single I’d already have my credit card out 🙂

I’m not a fan of Lorac’s shimmers at times, they don’t always perform well on me. I love their mattes and that would be the only reason I would entertain getting this. however, each shadow has much less in product than last year. That’s disheartening and a bit of game changer. I like the orange matte shades and lavender etc but the 2 rows of shimmers would likely go untouched. This might be a pass. I really loved their pro unzipped palettes though..a big hit. I wish they would come out with another 2 row pro palette like 1 & 2 – warm and cool mixed.
