Sneak Peek: Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour Photos & Swatches

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour ($32.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a new, permanent lipstick formula that is available in 20 shades. It’s described as a “buildable, lightweight lipstick” with an “ultra-luminous” finish and scented with the “fruity and flora La Petite Robe Noire fragrance.” I have 15 of the 20 shades, which you’ll find swatched below, and I’ll be reviewing them as I can.

As a note, it is heavily scented (which is part of the point of the range), and it is definitely stronger than the scent used in other Guerlain lip products.

I purchased 3 of these,, Neon Pumps, Berry Beret and Cherry Cape. It took me a while to get used to the fragrance, but now I rather like it. I love this formula. It is on the sheer side and light and perfect for work. I am not sure I would pay $37 Cdn for one, but with discounts/points I got all three for around $60 and will likely pick up one more. For once we got something in Canada ahead of the US.

Nope, these are total skip for me. I like my lippies pigmented, and these look totally underwhelming compared to all the lovelies that UD, BITE, and Maybelline has been releasing. And I can’t understand why they would load their lipstick with strong fragrance, I don’t want to be drinking perfume all day long, yuck!

Kinda disappointed about another sheer formula. I don’t like sheer lipsticks in general, and i feel if I’m going to spend that much on a lipstick in the first place, I’ll want an opaque shade with a fantastic formula. These don’t look very impressive to me.

I’ve had Cherry Cape and Mauve Gloves for a few months now (clearly, they released early in Canada). I am really not thrilled with them and won’t be buying any more. The wear time on them is pretty dismal, IMO, and they’re really no better than products like Revlon’s Lip Butters that cost around 5 bucks! I’d say “Save your money”. I’m glad I got mine with Optimum Points so they were essentially free. I find the packaging rather tacky too.

My First Lipstick? Hahahahaha! At Guerlain prices, that is one dangerous precedent to set. Destined to become a Temptalia addict. Think I was 9. Loubou would look like no problem, now, if I started Guerlain@ 9.

I don’t know about these….between the strong fragrance, the fact that these really are ultra sheer to the point that they make me think of those long ago play lipsticks moms would buy for their preteen daughters, but for $32? If I want something barely there, I would more likely get either an UD Sheer or Sheer Shimmer, or one of the Maybelline sheers they came out with last year.

I’m interested in the mix of strong colors and sheerness. Not sure I’d be good with the scent though. Wish I could get Guerlain around here; it’s too expensive to experiment by ordering. I’m going to go look for dupes for Leather Blazer and Python Bag, and some of the reds too.

I have the shade Pink Ballerinas and I really like it! It feels nice on the lips and doesn’t dry out my lips that much, which is pretty good considering most lipsticks suck out all their moisture! Normally I’m not a fan of strong fragrance in makeup but I like this particular scent. ?

I’m very underwhelmed, to be honest. Sheer and heavily perfumed means these are going to be a no-go for me, not to mention that they look like they wouldn’t be very dry-lip friendly.

I tend to prefer more pigmented lipsticks, but the last row with the berry shades is interesting to me; the colours have impact, but the product still runs fairly sheer …it lends a different quality to the look. What I don’t like: the price or the idea of the product being more scented than their usual offerings, but I would maybe consider buying one shade to see how I like the effect on my lips. My lip margins are not as sharp and defined as yours.

The lip product choices right now is bloody staggering.

These look decent for what they are, which seems like a well tinted chapstick. LOL I mean they’re pretty and look comfortable, but if I’m going to pay $32 it has to look like more than a comfy tinted chapstick. Also, I will never understand the appeal of wearing frangrance on one’s face – particularly on the lips. Definitely a pass for me.

You said it much better than I could have! They appear to be little more than a tinted balm, and in fact, I think I’ve got a NYX tinted balm that’s actually more pigmented! I expect much more from a $32 purchase. Plus, perfume? Ugh. I don’t want to spend all day tasting perfume. And since perfume is such a personal choice, I would think that they’re limiting the customers that would consider buying the product. I certainly wouldn’t want clashing scents, especially from my lipstick, lol.

I like some of these as I actually do like sheer lipsticks as long as they aren’t too sheer. But, the fact that the fragrance is so strong on these is turning me off. I don’t even have that big of an issue with fragrance in lip products, but I don’t like that the scent is even stronger in these.
I’ll just wait for the dupes for the ones I like.

Tatiana Avatar

While I don’t mind a sheer lipstick, I cannot abide by fragrance in my lipsticks. I already dislike the scent in Guerlain’s other lipsticks, so these are big, fat NO for me.

If i would llike a fragranced tinted chapstick i would buy kisskiss roselips which at least have the class and cool packaging . This are bulky and too sheer and too frargranced. URGH
