Canadians: it has not quite been confirmed yet, but it does sound like an in-store F&F sale is in the works; some representatives are saying you’ll receive a coupon valid in-store via e-mail — others are still saying no sale.
In-store: as far as we know, there is a friends and family sale in-store, but it is restricted to those who are fortunate enough to receive actual discount sheets from Sephora employees (you know, their friends and family, ha!). Still, there’s likely to be a mass customer e-mail in the next couple of days to announce the sale online, so perhaps they’ll extend it in-store to all customers, but we don’t know. (They haven’t done so in the past.)

My haul: I picked up some Kate Somerville products I’ve been eying (ExfoliKate – just 2 oz. and EradiKate), as well as Kate Somerville’s Oil-Free Moisturizer (which I adore, but I find pricey!), as well as Philosophy Pumpkin Spice Muffin Shower Gel. Those are just my must-haves-before-they-sell-out. I’m still not sure if I’ll pick up anything else during the sale, but it’ll probably be pricey stuff or staples.

Question for any girls with oily skin, anything you’ve tried that keeps oil at bay during the day? I’m seeing that Dr. Brandt Pores No More has a good rating on Sephora but okay on Makeupalley and Murad Oil-Control Mattifier seems to be liked on both. Any suggestions?
I do not think the dr. brandt “pores no more” works well. I honestly did not notice any change with my skin. However, the Murad Oil Control mattifier works ridiculously well. It zapped away the oil on my skin but did not dry it out. It lasted me most of the day and has worked the best in terms of longevity of all the products I have tried. One downside to it is that if you apply foundation afterwards, it is hard to blend into the skin. I have been wanting to try the Murad product that is a foundation and a mattifier but have not gotten around to it. Maybe when the Sephora site goes back up….
Please note that my opinion comes from testing out trial versions and not because I bought the full size products.

I just faked out a second order (canceled before confirmation) and it looks like it will be able to work multiple times! This is exciting as I had to limit myself because of my CC budget this cycle, but my statement date is next week so I might be able to place another order before the sale ends on the 2nd…:)

Do you know if they removed items from the site for this sale? I had this year’s lashstash sampler in my cart at 2am EST, the code didn’t work, so I decided to wait for morning. I had a computer problem and had to clear my cache, and now I can’t get the item back in my cart…
Happened to me too! I had the Stila As Good As Golden $10 bronzer and luminizer in my Favorites and in my Cart, and it was completely gone from the site when I tried to order today! Sadface 🙁

Its weird, I saw that last night but it disappeared when I tried to order today! BUT weirdly enough, I noticed that if I go back and forth from the initial order page to the “pick your rewards” page, sometimes the rewards actually changed! After about 20 refreshes I finally got the Givenchy Interdit gloss to show up again! Ive seen an Ojon hair spray thing, a Smashbox clear gloss, the Interdit gloss, a sample of Purity Made Simple, and a 3-piece Murad wrinkle serum thing.
What do you think of the pumpkin peel? I really want to try it!
Biggest purchases were l’Occitane Immortelle Precious Cream and Very Precious Eye Serum (to finally try, if they’re as awesome as people say I might not mind paying full price) and the LORAC Double Booked collection. I also got some more Lights Camera Lashes because my tube is running out – a nice coincidence. Also finally cashed in some points and got the VIB Kat Von D eyeshadows and a Givenchy lipgloss, so it’s going to feel like Christmas!
after much indecision, i bought clarisonic mia, LORAC eyeshadow in green room, Illamasqua lipstick in box(deep scarlet red) and MUFE eyeshadow in 91(apple green).
I woke up at 3am (eastern time) to place my order but the site kept crashing, and when it was working it was sooo slow! But when I got up again around 6 I was finally able to place my order. I couldn’t sleep 🙂 Too excited about make-up lol!
I picked up Tarte’s Treaure Crest, Stila’s Gift of Appreciation, and Smashbox’s WISH Eye Wish Palette. Great deals already, but with the extra 20% how could I say no. Oh and Schweppes Gold Medal Set, It was in the sale section. $8 (with the sale) for 9 lip balms! I also reached 500 points, so I picked up the 500 point perk Kat Von D palette.
i picked up a ghd hair straightener, benefit dandelion, and i’ve wanted to try BE matte so i got that also, but idk if i’ll be keeping it. i wanted to get a sample from my sephora to see if it would turn me orange like the old version did but they didnt have samples. oh well!
even with the discount the three things came out to be a lotta money!!

Update: got the Lashstash, I copy-and-pasted the item number from my screen cap of my shopping cart (I have been having massive problems with my internet connection lately and I screen capped the cart in case I had to totally reset my browser….) I put the item number in the search box and the product page came right up. Of course, it took me something like four tries to get it into the cart – Sephora.com HATES Safari, it seems. I actually ended up downloading Firefox to finish my order.
So, the total damage: a bottle of Gucci Flora EDT (have been sniffing my sample obsessively for weeks), the aforementioned Lashstash mascara sampler, a L’Occitane shower oil, one of the Korres lip butters, and a bottle of the Vera Wang Princess Foamy Body Polish as a gift for my mom. I might also place another order before the sale is up for some skincare – I’m not sure whether I’ll need a stronger moisturizer for colder weather and I’m thinking about the Korres yoghurt cream.
I spent the last two weeks revising and revising and revising my basket! Craziness. I got Benefit CORALista, Korres Wild Rose Regimen Set, Tarte Treasure Chest, and Stila Holiday Smudge Pot Set. I also was so psyched to see the Givenchy Gloss Interdit as the beauty insider sample. Serious score!

i was eyeing the MUFE eye liners set but I decided not to because I just don’t use liner all that much. It’s a great deal if you love liners and use them a lot. I’d love to see swatches of all of them if you ever decide to post.
very unpleased with the fact its not available on the CDN site… i mean we already pay more than US exchange because our dollar is almost at par and we are taxed up the ying yang and yet we cant get a break 🙁 lets hope they have an instore offer – oddly enough all the products i currently want are online only items (train case, UD sets, beauty blender) I may just have to suck it up and pay full price. how does it work on canadian stores
I just went to Sephora today and wanted everyone know that you have to have a postcard from an MA for the sale pricing. If you don’t have one, you don’t get the sale. To get the postcard from the MA though you do have to be their friend or family member though… Oh well, they had the UD Book of Shadows & the Superstash in stock. I’m happy to get those even though they weren’t on sale.

My Canadian Friends! Best kept secret EVER: parcel forwarding companies. My sister (in China) told me that she has been using Shipito to purchase from retailers that do not ship internationally. Maybe not worth it for one or two lipsticks, but if you happen to buy a bunch of stuff from Sephora it is totally worth it AND the international shipping is discounted.

I was soooooo torn abt what to get bc I work @ ulta sooo I don’t like spending too much @ sephora when I get a bigger discount @ work buuut I ended up getting nars sheer glow foundation in cadiz….nars concealer duo in praline/honey(not sure of other color the darkest one lol) nars loose poweder in moutain and mufe face and body foundation in 18 which I use like a tinted moisturizer…on days when I just want something really light….that’s all I got..might go back and get some loccatine skincare or bliss….
I bought a Guerlain e/s quad, (brun modore i think.. the green one), Dior Skin finish in Amber Diamond and Rose Diamond, and the Nars Day and Night e/s palette. I think I might stock up on some skyn pure cloud cream and maybe try out Exfolikate..I tried the sample and it was great. I just havent invested the money into buying it, but I think I will now with the sale =)

@ Siledhel, The shipito guys said that they could buy stuff on my behalf if I didnt have an international credit card and then i could send them a money order. But, I have an international credit card so I didnt use them. But, you should totally ask them!
