Sephora #27 Pro Blending Brush & #73 Pro Precision Blush Brush Reviews & Photos
Sephora #27 Pro Blending Brush
Sephora #27 Pro Blending Brush ($20.00) is a fluffy, medium-sized rounded brush designed for blending made out of goat hair. The brush head is 14mm in length, 9mm in width, and 6mm in thickness. It had a total length of 178mm with a pinched, metal ferrule. It is fairly soft, lightly fluffy with moderate spring and works in a variety of ways. I like using it to apply a highlighter to my brow bone, and then blend downwards to the crease color, but it can also be used to apply all-over color to the lid, to set or blend out concealer, or to blend out any harsh edges between eyeshadows. It is similar to MAC 217 and Hakuhodo J5523.
Sephora #73 Pro Precision Blush Brush ($32.00) is a small-medium, flattened blush brush with a strongly tapered edge. It is made with natural pony bristles. The brush head is 31mm in length, 26mm in width, and 15mm in thickness. It had a total length of 210mm with a pinched, metal ferrule. This is a feathery, lighter-weight blush brush with a lot of spring and give, so I’ve found it ideal for applying blush and highlighting powders for a subtler application/color. It is moderately soft, but if you tend to use a stippling or tapping motion to apply your brush, you may want to look for a softer brush.
Sephora’s Pro brushes have longer handles than the average brush brand, but they’re weighted well, so they don’t feel awkward in the hand. They seem to use high quality printing on the handles, too, as none of mine show signs of fading/wear for the names.

I use the precision blush brush for highlighters, too! Not such a fan for blush, though.
Why don’t you like it for blush? (Totally just curious!)
I like a bigger, fluffier brush for blush. I think this one is just a little too precise for me! I use the MAC blush brush now.
Gotcha! 😀
Well, both sound and look like very lovely affordable brushes.
They are!
I like the handles of these!
They’ve been holding up well so far (had them a little less than a year).
I have that #27 blending brush from Sephora and love it for applying eyeshadow all over the lid! I came across it by chance once just browsing through their brushes.
Nice! Happy you’re loving yours, Sandy!
The blush brush looks fairly promising. I might have to pick it up.
Let me know if you check it out, Laura!
I have 13 Sephora Pro brushes, and they are all amazing, these look great as well!
What are your must-haves?
The blush brush looks nice, but i personally like fluffier brushes for blush
Gotcha! 🙂
I think the 27 brush is what I have been looking for .
Thanks for the deets!
My pleasure, Marisa!
I’m really in need of a new blush brush. Unfortunately I think I might need one that’s a bit more multi-tasking.
Totally understand! 😀
I have quite a few Sephora pro brushes and really love them. They also come with bristle covers. I’m not sure if all of them do but so far, they have.
Any must-haves you’d rec, Susan?
Is #73 what you used for the Becca Lowlight contour, by chance? I think I’m mixing up Sephora brushes. Still waiting for my Sephora to get it back in stock…not only did it sell out but someone stole the tester.
I used Sephora’s #49! 🙂
I bought the #27 Sephora brush after you mentioned it on a must-have makeup brush post. I use it only for blending between eyeshadows, in particular to soften up the crease color under the brown bone color. It is a great brush, though over time, it has started to feel a little spikey. Maybe I just don’t clean it often enough haha!
It could be the cleanser you’re using – some cleansers seem to be make brushes rougher than others!
Oh I didn’t even think of that! Thanks for your reply.
Just as a heads up, I feel like my MAC Brush Cleanser (which is alcohol-based, I believe) is harsher on my brushes than a lot of other cleansers. Alcohol-based cleansers are great for quick cleanings where you need the brush to be dry pretty soon after washing, but if you can wash and let them dry for the rest of the day/night, I try to avoid! (I use Dr. Bronner’s unscented, mild castille liquid soap.)
I really need to get myself a decent blending brush. Really. I use the ‘blending’ end of the Naked 2 Palette brush if I really need something, but (much as I love UD) I find that brush quite ‘hard’…
I never find myself using UD’s brushes on the fly – I just never reach for them!
I’ve not seen any brushes looking like these at the closest Sephora. I do have one or two brushes from Sephora that I really like, so I think I’ll try to find the pro ones,
Fingers crossed the Pro line is available at your Sephora!
