Reader Look: Anita Goes BRIGHT! with Dior
Reader Look: Anita Goes BRIGHT! with Dior
Long-time reader Anita (you may recognize her posting under the name Anitacska–try typing that ten times fast!) shared this fun, bold look she created with Dior’s Tropical Quint. She said she’s never done such a bright look before!
- Eyes: She began by laying down Guerlain Eyeshadow Primer as her eyeshadow base. For eyeshadow, she primarily used Dior’s Tropical (#940) Eyeshadow Quint. On the inner corner, she applied a turquoise eyeshadow and then applied the light purple to the middle of the lid, above the crease, and on the lower lash line. She used a darker purple on the outer corner and crease with a lighter pink above the creas. Anita used Laura Geller’s Blush ‘n Brighten in Boysenberry/Amaretti to highlight the brow bone. To line her waterline, she used Urban Decay Covet 24/7 Eyeliner and finished lashes with Boots No. 7 Extreme Length Mascara in black.
- Cheeks: Anita applied MAC Two Virtues Mineralize Blush on her cheeks with Laura Geller’s Blush ‘n Brighten in Boysenberry/Amaretti to highlight the top of her cheeks.
- Lips: She kept it simple and applied MAC Bubblegum lipstick to her lips for some color.

lovely 🙂
Anita, you look gorgeous!
I don’t have Tropical but I have Dior Rose Gipsy which has some similar pinks and mauvey purples ( and apricot instead of green) but I am SO going to try this tomorrow!
I’ve only recently begun mixing green and purple, sticking mostly with deep smoky colours and this look has very much inspired me, thank you so much!
I can’t quite tell if your lower eyeliner is green or teal but I have neither and now I want both.
Thanks for sharing Christine!
Thank you! 🙂 The eyeliner is blue-ish green, so not quite teal, but not green either. It’s Covet from the Urban Decay 24/7 line.
this is a gorgeous and subtle way to wear color! Well done! shows you dont have to be twenty to pull off bright colors!
I wish the pictures were a little more crisp so as to better show off the work! I adore the shades, and the overall look is quite pretty, good job!
This makes me want to contribute a look of my own as well!
i love how she effortlessly glows! gorgeous
Very nice and soft! Reminds me of the Aurora Borealis (northern lights). 🙂
I love it. It’s a very romantic and soft but colorful look.
I love how this is colorful, yet not overwhelmingly bright – awesome job!
gorgeous!! fresh, youthful yet still not ott! her skin and lashes look lovely!
oh wow, that looks so great! that’s definitely one the best ways i’ve seen to do colourful pastels really well.
thanks for posting it 🙂
Anita, the look is perfect for spring…very pretty. Will def try it. Christine…yay for featuring a guest/reader look! I’m addicted to your site and admire all the hardwork you put in. Thanks.
Oh!Is she hungarian?:)
Yes, I’m Hungarian, but have lived in the UK for the last 11 years. 🙂
Azért még tudsz magyarul?:)
I’m hungarian too:)
Ahhh love Dior shadows.. Anita, your skin is amazing! 😀
loving this look!
This is a lovely look!!!!
I was actually surprised when I saw the photo of the quint because I never would have expected such a gorgeous look to come from that eyeshadow!
Also, the blush and lipstick colours you used look STUNNING on you!
Yea reader look! thanks for sharing- fabulous use of these colors!
Looks fab! Bright without being in-your-face. Very pretty.
Soooo pretty!! Great colors for spring!
Wow, this is so pretty! I love it Anita. This is such a nice soft spring look. I’m gonna try it w/ some dupes cuz I don’t have Dior or Laura Gellar.
If anybody has any suggestions for dupes, I’d love to hear them.
Where can I buy this palette? 🙂 It looks so beautiful.
Hi, The palette isn’t available in shops anymore, it’s the old style packaging, but you could try eBay (that’s where I got mine) or MUA.
somebody is blessed wth a lovely skin…that cheek color is gorgeous!!!
Very nice!!
That’s very pretty – it’s very aquatic inspired! Great Work!
pretty! everything goes together and she just GLOWS
Love the color combination and the cheeks! Kudos on you for trying out bold colors! 🙂
Wow, I am very chuffed to see that Christine chose to post my pictures, thank you! 🙂 And also a huge thank you to all of you for your lovely comments! I’m sorry about the pictures not being too great, my camera isn’t good at capturing bright colours, so I had to use my mobile phone’s camera, and even this wasn’t great. The colours were even brighter in real life!
I had done bright-ish make up before, but I never used to mix colours, so just do greens or purples or blues, but I saw this quint in my collection and thought I’m gonna try something Christine would do. 🙂 Thanks Christine for the great influence and tips! xxx
Gorgeous! Can you come do my makeup?
Anita, you look great! That look looks so fresh and perfect for spring…I love it!
