Try a lash primer like Lancome’s Cils Booster. My otherwise nonexistent lashes look AMAZING when I use it before mascara!! And you’ll only need one coat of mascara 🙂

Eh, I’m fairly indifferent to be honest.
I want length, curl and decent pigmentation (oh yeah, and no smudging or flaking) before I get all bothered about volume. I’ve got fairly thick lashes anyway so it’s not really a priority for me and most of the ones touted as volumizing tend to be clumpy, on me at least.

Love the stuff, and by far the ebst (and also the cheapest) I have used is LashBlast by covergirl…I am a MAC girl through and through but the lashblast really makes my lashes huge 🙂

My lashes are stupidly long, but sparse, so va olumizing mascara is a must – currently with Lancom Hypnose I got as a gift (thanks to my bf’s mom) and loving it, but I think I’ll do a bit of research and buy a new one, it’s starting to get chunky.

I love voluminous mascaras! The only mascara brand that seems to do what it’s mean to is Max Factor 2000 calorie mascara! I have a hard time finding this brand but I swear on this mascara! My lashes are short and thin but using this mascara my lashes look longer and thicker! I highly recommend it! If you can find it! Good luck

Same here. Max Factor 2000 is personal favorite… For me it works much better than Dior/Chanel and other high end mascaras. In fact 2000 calories is the only mascare that does what it’s supposed to do!;))

I need volumizing mascara. My lashes are thin and stick out straight. I absolutely love benefit bad girl lash and diorshow. I get mini mascaras these days. I don’t need a huge one. Never finish them ans the go bad so quickly anyway.

i have long, numerous lashes but they’re thin… so i loooove Maybelline’s Collossal mascaras. they really do add considerable volume [and length]. i’m all for the dramatic lashes, day and night!

I am always just on the lookout for a good mascara that doesn’t flake or smudge and doesn’t get all cakey with two coats. I have NEVER noticed a big difference in volumizing, lengthening, etc. I have pretty thick/long lashes to begin with so maybe that is it.

Catherine Avatar

Sephoras “atomic volume” mascara doesn’t volumize at all, however it is THE best lengthening & separating mascara I’ve ever found. I have to curl my lashes prior to applying.

I think is the most important mission in a mascara. I personally dont like the long and aspare lashes, I want a full bunch of lashes I think I look more femenine (if it makes any sense). I founf the YSL the more efficient in this job but is so pricey! specialy considering that it dries off week after opened! So I keep looking for my HG volumizing mascara 🙂 (MAC opulash and Benefit BAD GAL do a pretty good job btw)

i really agree with the “feminine” full fluttery lashes you described!!! I love diorshow blackout.. but have been using l’oreal extra volume collagen!! So thick if you do several coats! 🙂

I like Maybelline Falsies? BUT! It flakes something AWFUL and it falls into my eyes. It look good, but some days I just can’t be bothered by all the damn flakes.

allie Avatar

also, i know this is entirely off-topic but i was wondering if you were going to do purple eyeliner swatches? i’m looking for a good, kind of dark, plum eyeliner. thanks so much!

volumizing tends to clump. lengthening is better. mascara primers are great for volumizing without the clumpiness, that is.. if you can find a good one.

I love volumizing mascara. 🙂 the sephora collection waterproof one is fantastic. I always look for volumizing mascaras, because I already have ridiculously long lashes. 😛

it is a must-have for my thin, sparse, pale lashes!

i prefer to replace mascara every month or every other month, so i buy drugstore stuff, and i like :maybelline falsies: (the new black lace super drama (or whatever) one) a lot.

it does the job (really!) without breaking the bank ^^

I love them!
I have very long but stick straight and sparse lashes so I have to curl them to make me look awake. Volumizing mascara is a big part of my makeup routine 😉
Maybelline Volum’Express is my HG but I also like Dior Iconic Extreme and MF False Lash Effect. The Falsies and The Colossal don’t seem to do the trick for me so I stick with my trusty old VE 😉

I can’t live without volumizing mascara either. I have fairly long, but sparse and very straight lashes.
I just have one problem and was wondering if someone has the same and solved it: My lashes are so straight that I have to curl them. But as soon as I apply mascara, they immidiately go straight again and do not hold any curl!!! The only way I found to compensate this is apply one coat of Dr. Hauschka volumizing mascara first, and then put on any other mascara. I loved MAC opulash when it was new, but now it dried a bit and I need like 4-5 coats to get a decent volume. But then it starts to clump.
I was wondering if maybe one of you had the same problem and found THE one volumizing mascara which holds the curl, so that I do not have to layer anymore?
Thank you!

I also love volumizing mascaras.Right now,I’m using Maybelline Falsies as I’m looking for a cheaper mascara. My favorite, though,is Mally Volumizing Mascara.

I already have decent length lashes, so I prefer voluminizing mascaras (which gives more even more lenght) and my favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof mascara.
