I can’t find the perfect pair! Tweezermans are so sharp, they often wind up cutting the hair instead of pulling it. I have better luck with 99 cent ones from the drugstore that will work for a few months.
yep i agree, its when they break the hair off that it drives me mad!
I completely agree!
I’ve actually tried all sorts of Tweezers. Expensive, high end ones included. But my favorite Tweezers are a pair of random no-name ones I bought at the dollar store. Perfect tweezers, for a dollar! I’d picked them up just to take with me in my purse so I didn’t lose my “good” pair, but ended up loving these more. They’re round tipped and grab my really stubborn hairs better than any other tweezers (even ones missed by waxing). I bought them two years ago and they’re still just right in the sharp department.
Sometimes they don’t grip the hair well. I’m like “Dude, come on! You gotta get that sucker!” LOL.
My favorite tweezers are actually from ELF and only cost $1! I’ve had a lot more expensive ones and they either don’t match up and grab nothing, cut the hair off, or just generally suck. The $1 ELF ones are FANTASTIC. I can’t live without them!
Thank you! I thought that it was just me! I love ELF tweezers! They don’t shave the hair like Tweezerman’s do, they can do the whole surgical strike removal thing and all that for $1.
I had a pair of Anastasia’s that I loved but they quickly lost their alignment and became useless. I’m now using Tweezerman slant tips and they are great. I have never had an issue with them cutting the hair, but my hair is so weak it sometimes breaks at the root which causes a problem. I have to be careful to grab the hair at the base.
I hate when the twizzers your are using look like they can tackle the fine stray hairs but they just slip of the hair instead.
My current faves are from Revlon (I think they are the Expert Slant Tip, around $5). I find Tweezerman’s to be too sharp, they usually cut the hair (or my skin!) instead of pulling it out. Tweezerman used to make cheap (under $10) mini tweezers that were not that sharp but was the BEST at pulling out hairs. I miss these, I look for them all the time 🙁
I’m pretty sure you can still find their mini tweezers on Sephora.com for something like $15.
I loooooove Rubis slant tweezers! They’re so well made, grip perfectly, and the finish is great. Like MJ, I have fine hair, so it’s important that my tweezers can really grip the hair close to the base. I can tweeze the finest hairs with Rubis. I will never go back to drugstore tweezers.
best pair i’ve tried is a pointed pair from revlon!! LOVE
Tweezers are one of my biggest necessities. I use and love Tweezerman.
My MAC slant tweezers are awsome…..until you drop them on the floor and then they never line up straight again! Also, they are very sharp and I”ve stabbed myself with them a few times 🙁
Tweezerman slant stainless are my HG. I have a bu tweezerman slant, but my original is still so sharp. Not even sure how many yrs I’ve had it.
I have very pale brow hairs, am strawberry blonde, and these get in there and help me shape my brows so I can darken them w/wax.
A LOL-moment for me is when my crappy pair of tweezers actually CURLED my unruly eyebrow stray instead of plucking it. I yelled at it “THIS IS NOT GIFT BOX RIBBON!”
That’s when you know it’s time to throw your tweezers out.
omg, dat is 2 funny
I’ve been meaning to buy myself a pair of Tweezermans forever, but my $1 ELF works so well I just can’t justify it.
I wandered into Trade Secret for no reason at all today and ended up finding a pair of $25 Tweezermans on sale for $6.25! Funny that tweezers are the topic of the day.
I have no idea what brand of tweezers I own. My mother gave me her extra pair when I was – oh, I don’t know, fifteen? I’ve had them for six or seven years and they do the job fine. I use them on my eyebrows and they work great. They’re sort of round-tipped.
The best tweezers I have ever owned and used have been cheapo’s from the dollar store- just no-names. Then a couple years ago I purchased a pair of Tweezerman’s (and didn’t like the pricetag, but I thought I should try them out): they became quite dulled in a few months, after being initially over-sharp and gouging my skin (!!)- then, I purchased more pairs (3)-same story. So, about a month ago I sent them off to be re-sharpened for no cost. We’ll see a) if they come back and when that would be; and b) what kind of sharpening has been done. I’ll get back to you all for an update. Best tweezers are the inexpensive ones that require no maintenance.
I can’t use any other brand other than Tweezerman’s! They grab *every* hair for me. I do agree that they sometimes cut the hair…but that stops quick enough for me to never look at another brand for the rest of my life lol
My favourite tweezers are actually the mini pair that comes with my Benefit Browzings. They are awesome and really grab every hair, even stubbly ones when I use my magnifying mirror. Granted I haven’t tried any expensive brands but with these babies I don’t feel the need to!
er, I’m going to be the black sheep here, but I don’t plug my eyebrows. I like my natural shape and density, and shave a few small areas (in between the brows, a few strays under the arch). Since it’s well known by now that shaving hair does NOT make it grow back stronger I’m not sure why it’s still such a no-no topic when it comes to eyebrows. My way takes less then a minute, doesn’t hurt or irritate my skin and I never risk over-plucking.
I do still own tweezers though in my med-kit, don’t know if they’re any good though as I’ve used them maybe once or twice!
I really need to keep my eyebrows plucked to feel human, so tweezers are really important. I love my Tweezermans – nothing else I’ve used has come close.
I have been using MAC eye lash growth serum and it really has doubled the legnth of my bottom lashes for SURE! The tops are growing but haven’t doubled or darkened. Overall I love this product I use it 2 times a day but a rep from Nordstroms told me you can use itice over eyeliner and even do it 3 times a day. The 35.00 price is reasonable compared to Latisse and a more expensive 89.00 dollar brand at Nordstroms. I think it works well and I’m happy my lashes are longer. I no longer put on 5 to 6 coats of mascara can do with 2 coats and they look great. Yea toMAC for a great product at a reasonable price. As a side note I did buy ardell growth serum for my eye brows and use it nightly and it does work. Got a great 15.99 price for a Ardell 3 pack on EBay. I recommend Ardell for eye brows!
