When I was a teenager, toners were amazing! They helped control the oil and really made the skin feel clean and not oily. As someone who has moved past breakouts (29) I don’t really care for them. Even the moisturizing ones seem to strip the skin of moisture.
I love toners! They are refreshing and I find my moisturizer absorbs much better if I tone my skin right before and leave it slightly damp. My fave toners right now are organic or all natural floral waters. Suki Organics makes two fantastic ones (balancing and nourshing). They also smell amazing.
For my oily and acne-prone skin, they work wonders. However, I do find some drying, and some too moisturizing, so its hard to find the right one.
I use a non-alcohol witch hazel by Thayer’s. It clarifies my skin and helps with puffy undereyes from allergies. It’s one of my best finds in the past few years.
This one is my HG too. It’s cheap and you get alot in the bottle. I have tried many toners but this one works the best. And it’s always around. Sometimes beauty companies change products and discontinue items. This one is a consistent product.
I love my Jason Red Elements Calming Toner. It’s organic, hypo-allergenic,fragrance & paraben free. It doesn’t dry out my skin & does a great job at getting all impurities my cleanser misses.
Toners are not friends of mine. They either feel like they don’t do anything, or they make my face itchy, dry, and leave that burning sensation. So hard to find a happy medium.
When I was a teen (oh so many years ago), I used Seabreeze religiously. What the heck was I thinking? That stuff was like acetone LOL!
Now, I use Boots Botanicals Rose Water Toner (Target). It’s a lovely spritz that calms my sensitive skin and provides moisture before I apply my face lotion.
LOL….Remember the jingle “Beautiful skin can be a breeze with Seabreeze”. I remember when the girl went by the guys and a pretty breeze went along with her and all the guys were in awe of her! I thought it would make my skin look like hers and all the guys would be bowing at my feet! LOL how dumb was I :D. I thought about “gee your hair smells terrific” shampoo too….that everyone would say that to me at school the next day like in the commercials.
Givenchy Tone It Tender Moisturing Lotion.
A DREAM IN A BOTTLE!!! It’s a combination of a toner and a liquid moisturizer. Perfect to apply after cleaning the skin for a clean and radiant glow + it smells amazing.
I like to apply my moisturizer just a second before “Tone It Tender” dries and the skin feels so silky and fresh.
I also noticed that my foundation looks much better on after I started using “Tone it tender.”
Also, it gets rid of the “tight” feeling on the skin after using a really through cleanser.
It costs $32 in Sephora. Personally, I think that it is worth it.
Can’t imagine my cleansing routine without it.
i love them, i like the idea of using sake or champagne as a toner (michellephan ideas) but im underage.. so
I use Clinique Acne Solutions Toning Lotion and love it. Not drying on my acne prone, combination skin. I follow up with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel twice a day after washing my face.
so do i.. i really love the line! 🙂
I use Estee Lauder’s Perfectly Clean Fresh Balancing Lotion for Normal/Combination skin. After cleansing, I like to use this to re-balance the pH in my skin which is the purpose of a toner. My skin has never felt smoother and healthier = ).
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever used a toner. Don’t entirely know what one does. I have an acne scrub, and a few gentle cleansers, and my skin is so sensitive that I’m sort of afraid to deviate from any of the products that I KNOW work.
I think toners are awesome. I use them after I have cleaned my face using a facewash. Toners help rid my skin of any dirt that is remnant on my face post cleansing. The first time i used it, i was surprised to see how much dirt I caught on my cotton pad! Also, toners help restore the ph balance of your skin. I can totally notice the difference in my skin when I tone it every night before i sleep. 🙂
I love toners! There so important in your skincare routine!
I love mine garnier Clean Sensative toner, it has no alcohol and no parfume. It is the best product ever, so concentrated its amazing!
I reconment this product to everyone:)…by the way love your site christine:) keep up the good work!
Lots of love from Holland!
Oil of Olay refreshing toner
I use that one too!! It leaves my skin soft and cool feeling. I like because it gets rid of oil and dirt without making my skin irritated or dry feeling.
My fav is Clean and clear sensitive skin toner
i had this one before…it alwaysss stung my eyes =(
Now i use the lush eau roma water toner for dry skin.. smells nice and feels very refreshing!
I use toner religiously. I found this great organic toner at Whole Foods that works great on my dry and sensitive skin. It’s Aubrey Organics and I use the Rosa Mosqueta & English Lavender toner. It is fabulous! Can’t say enough great things about it and their products are vegan too.
I loooove the Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner. Ever since I started to use it I’ve noticed a real difference in my skin!
Never really liked toners. I’ve always thought they were just an extra step. But in the summer time if I wanted my skin to be more refreshed, I would use Shiseido Pureness Balancing Softener.
I don’t use them. I don’t find that they do anything for my mature skin.
I have sensitive, combo-oily, cystic acne prone skin so it’s always been challenging finding any skin care products that work for me. I’ve recently discovered Lush…and using their Tea Tree Water toner has been a wonderful experience, let me tell you! I’ve been reading a lot about rose water toners lately and think I might give that a try once my lush toner is gone tho…cuz I’m also a product junkie LOL
I only used one and didnt rlly like it, it was the clinique one from the 3 step system. I didnt lik it cause it dryed my skin too much n had to much alcahol tat it sorta burned my eyes. Does anyone recomend any toners that dont have alcahol? Btw i have combo skin
I use the NARS one after reading the review here. But not sure on the effect on my skin… it does removes left over dirt on my face, and did’t break me out. So I guess it’s works, just no drastic change or anything.
I don’t think toners do **that** much, but I love my Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel. Rose is good for skin, and it’s refreshing. I use after cleansing, I spritz it on my face just prior to using moisturizers and night creams, and I use it to “set” makeup. It smells lovely. It doesn’t strip my face, and feels good. It’s a large bottle for very cheap!
I’ve been using Boot’s Time Dimensions toner and love it! I hadn’t used toners since I was a teen which was 2 decades ago+ and at that time they did nothing good for my skin. I’d recommend the Boots to anyone over 30. I think it does a great job and removing the makeup that’s left behind after I wash my face. It has a mild AHA in it and leaves my skin really smooth.
I use organic rosewater as a toner and love it!
I have super dry skin, and Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Toner is the best! Tons of antioxidants and very soothing.
I use toner when I remember too 😀 haha yes, i actually put it far back on my makeup desk. But i’m starting to use them regularly, i’m using The Body Shop Clarifying Toner and it’s amazing! Toners are actually important to me now 🙂
I use the Clinique acne 3-step and I find the toner is an absolute must! Honestly wash your face with any cleanser, then use a toner and you can just SEE all the gunk that was still on your face! Yuck!!! The three step has honestly been a blessing for me so long as I keep up with all three steps!
I was actually seeking to purchase an ecigarette. Before I order electronic cigartette can you do an article on more about it
