i love how they give you the perfect dewy glow but some just give you and oily look.
I’d love to hear people’s opinion on Twilight liquid highlighter (available at sephora) versus MAC Strobe liquid.
I’m in the market for a liquid highlighter and I hear these are the best.
MAC Strobe Liquid is an illuminating moisturizer.
I use Revlon Skinglights Face Illuminator Lotion, it’s been discountinued but you still can find it at Amazon; I love it because it gives you a healthy glow without an oily look.
I love liquid highlighters because I find the dewiness more natural then powder and it is so easy to blend. I forget how much I like since MAC came out with some beautiful MSFs recently, but I clean out my stash last week and found my liquid highlighters and I have been using then everyday since. The ones I own and love:
Benefit’s Moonlight
Pout Cosmetics After Glow Illuminator(UK based brand but I can’t find it in Vancouver anymore, not even Sephora!)
Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator Lotion in Bare Light ( I did know that one is discontinued!)
I these three babies for about 4 to 5 years now and then still have a lot of wear left and it hasn’t gone bad at all even though these are liquids.
I have a few from various brands. I prefer to add them to foundation for an overall glow. Otherwise, a tiny bit on the top of my forehead, nose, and cheekbones is plenty good. I don’t find I reach for them as much as powder highlighters though.
I’ve never really found liquid highlighters work for me. They always seem to frosty, but loose all color and shine once I set my makeup with a powder. Maybe I just haven’t found the right one for me. But they look great on other girls, and I prefer a matte highlighter anyway.
I love them but it takes more precision and concentration than powder b/c the one i use is very runny and sometimes i mess up the application a little. but i love being able to mix a small amount with my concealer for a homemade YSL touche eclat type thing.
I highly recommend Benefit’s High Beam and/or Moon Beam for a liquid highlighter. Very easy to use and results are awesome! Just put 3 “dots” on the apple of each cheek and blend upward and out. Very quick and easy!
I’m a brown girl and I love MUFE (MakeUpForEver) Luminizer, which is now called Diamond Cream Face & Body Iridescent Cream in “#06/Copper” but also like to use Shu Uemura Base Control in “Bronze”. It’s gorgeous on bare skin or mixed into foundation. These highlighters can also be mixed into body lotion to give skin beautiful sheen and shimmer.
