I haven’t come across a glittery lip gloss I haven’t loved! I love glittah!
Hate them. I’m all for a few flecks of glitter here and there, but I will not purchase or wear completely glittery lipgloss. If it isn’t the texture, it is the look that makes me feel like I am 12.
I agree. I’m 16 and if I wore it I probably would be mistaken for a 10 year old.
Agree :)) i’m 17 and I don’t like it anymore…there might be a few exceptions but a bright color+glitter in in=ewwww
I have a love hate relationship with glittery gloss. I love them because they…well…glitter! But I just dont feel like its doable after 20-25. I dont know why I feel that way, I just do. And it doesnt apply to ALL glittery glosses, just the really large chunk glitter ones, like Dazzle Glasses. Shimmer gloss I think is pretty at any age, but glitter gloss just seems like reaching after a certain age.
I can hardly stand lip products to begin with, so no funky textures for me.
I hate when you can feel the glitter in the gloss 🙁 I also hate glosses like UD some of theirs hmmm…. where you wipe off the gloss and still have big pieces of glitter on your lips and kind of all over your mouth area!! GRRR! I do love most of Mac’s Dazzleglasses athough a few do leave glitter behind a fustrating thing about glitter glosses!!!
shimmer yes, glitter NO
I second that. I think Chanel’s glosses as well as Revlon’s Super Lustrous glosses are as shimmery as I’m willing to go. They’re absolutely gorgeous!
i have fine hair, which seems to fly everywhere in the slightest breeze and LOVES to stick to lip gloss. plus, i’ve felt “too old” for glitter since i was about 19. 🙁
that is, of course, unless its new years eve!
I have the same hair! Flies over my lips sticks to them until good and coated in gloss then slaps it on my glasses. Oh thanks hair.
me too, i hate getting sticky gloss all over my hair!
hence it’s always pony tail + lip gloss, or hair down+ non-sticky lipstick. lol always on rotation
Augh, glitter lipgloss…my nemesis. I want to love it but I just can’t deal with glitter getting all over my face, as well as my family’s faces :(. Don’t even mention gritty glitter!
Oh and I LOVE shimmer, just had to mention ;). Although right now I am in a pure gloss phase, I’ll still get the right shimmer.
I sometimes eat the glitter (by mistake) and it can feel gritty and uncomfortable.
No, thanks. I find that once the gloss fades, the glitter migrates everywhere. I love shimmer, but I hate having glitter all over my face, and I don’t like looking like a disco ball. Pretty on others, but not for me!
For the most part, glitter gloss is too gritty (and a lot of glosses are too sticky for me). However, I have found two brands of glitter glosses that I like that are not sticky or gritty: Stila and Chanel Glossimers. Excellent products! The Chanel one looks so gorg in sunlight (as Christine as mentioned before).
Glitter is cute, but I hate how it gets all over my face. The worst is when it’s on my chin and makes it look like I’ve been drooling.
it depends of what brand, but I like the sparkle of micro glitter on the gloss
I don’t like it because it makes my lips so dry! The feeling can be uncomfortable and then the glitter gets everywhere around my mouth. Not a fan.
Hate glitter lipgloss and glitter anything. Hate it. Glitter migrates no matter how good your application technique and no matter how good or poor the quality of the product is. Glitter all over your face is NOT cute unless you are 5 years old.
dislike….i feel like any type of glitter on my face even the lips makes my face too dewy and greasy looking yuck!!
I can’t – I’m far too old. I do love it on younger girls, though. I used it on a 12 year-old model, with her mom’s permission, and you’d have thought she died and went to Disney Princess Heaven! I say use it while you can if you like it. Be young while you’re young!
hate. it. looks tacky to me. plus, lips do not naturally glitter! i prefer natural looking products.
Shimmer – yes. Glitter – NO! At 27, I feel like I’m way too old to be walking around with a disco ball on my lips! 🙂
agree and im 17 :))
I don’t mind glittery lipgloss as long as the glitter isn’t gritty and/or obnoxious. I really love MAC Flurry of Fun Lipglass because it’s a sheer tangerine with fine teal glitter and it just looks so cool. That would be an example of glittery gloss done right. 🙂
I love them. *A*
I figure I might has well go all out while I can get away with it.
I like glittery lipglosses to an extent – but MAC Superglass lipglosses were too much for me.
I like it as long as it’s not gritty. I love Dior Ultra Gloss Flash finish but MAC Dazzleglass always annoys me.
I don’t like it, not even the the kind that is small. I feel too old for glitter anything. I think it looks pretty on models in magazines, with the right look, but daily life just doesn’t seem to work.
I can’t stand glitter! I especially don’t like gritty glitter on my lips. I have one glitter gloss from Dior that I absolutely love. It’s not gritty or childish at all.
Something abut glitter lipgloss screams “DRAG QUEEN” to me, but I still love ’em…but maybe that’s just because I’m really a drag queen on the inside…
I absolutely love it! Glitter is my world! My brother in law hates it, though, and when I kiss my nieces he always has something to say about me getting glitter all over their faces! Lol
Most glittery lip glosses I’ve used have tended to be more on the sticky side .. but I still love them. There is a bit of transfer I’ve noticed.. even after the gloss has worn off.. the glitter tends to stick around and migrate around my face but I love glitter so it’s all good with me if there’s a few sparkles left over here and there.
Wait, they make lipgloss that ISN’T glittery? 😀
Eh, I tend to go full matte for my face makeup, so I tend to wear as much shimmer and glitter as I feel like on a given day for my eye and lip makeup. I think the only lipgloss I have that isn’t sparkly is a Smashbox one I got in a cheap double set at Ulta. It’s still nice, but not what I gravitate towards.
Love, Love, Love. Yeah sometimes it’s annoying if it does migrate, but a little bit of lip balm and I’m back on track! Great for nights out. Glitter is my trademark so I’ll rock it as long as I possibly can! I’m in my late 20’s and I don’t base it on my age, I base it on the way it looks!Enjoy the simple things that make you feel good ladies! And that is one sinple pleasure for me!
I love it. My favorite are the Mac lipgelles, because the sparkley ones are PACKED with glitter. Even dazzleglass isn’t glittery enough for me! I’m a glitter fanatic in the first place, so why not? I also like to use glitter gloss as a cheek highlight, it stays forever and has incomparable shine.
I think glitter is very pretty but I can’t stand seeing it on girls lips! I’d never wear it on my lips, I think something a little shimmery is pretty, but actual glitter lips… no. It’s more for younger girls! I wouldn’t be caught dead with glitter all over my lips!
Unlike. I do not like the feel of grit on my lips.
Ooh.. this is an easy one. I HATE glittery lipglosses. Well, I don’t like lipgloss in general, anyway, although I still have a small collection of them… I normally would just use creamy/moisturizing lipsticks.
I love the look of glittery glosses but for some reason the glitter (no matter what brand) always tears up the skin on my lips!
I hate chunky glitter! I rather put 3 dimensional effect/metallic/opalescent pearl like LORAC Multiplex 3D Lip Gloss, Hourglass Siren or Too Faced Girls Dig Pearls. It’s like shimmer but with an extra oomph, (especially LORAC Vivid, it has duo chrome effect!). All of those doesn’t feels gritty and never stuck on my lip lines.
ugh I hate them. I’m not even a huge fan of lightly shimmery ones. it makes me feel like I’m wearing one of those cheap claire’s or toys r us “lipglosses” and I’m 14
I adore them, but I’m a shimmer/glitter lover period. I stay away from cheap, chunky, craft store looking glitter of course & do prefer the better brands like Mac, Nars, UD, MUFE, Too Faced, Chanel Glossimers, etc. My husband is all about it too – he always likes to pull me into certain lighting to check out all the sparkle – he’s like, “ok, let’s see what kind of twinkles you’ve got on today-oh wow that looks fabulous.” I dunno sparkles are just plain pretty to look at – I think ppl should let go a little bit and enjoy it for what it is. I know it’s not appropriate for some types of daytime looks of course – like you don’t want to show up for your professional office job or board meeting looking like you’re ready to hit Studio 54, but I don’t feel it’s age specific at all. I actually would like to see this “rule-book” that states once you hit a certain age you have to be the equivalent of bland hospital food. Granted, I am very fortunate to look much younger than my age, and often get complimented for it as well as my makeup looks, however I AM still the age I am. I don’t want anyone telling me I can’t wear something I really enjoy & makes me happy just because my I have accumulated a certain number of years. I’ve never looked at anyone else of any age and thought, “eww look at how ridiculous they look with all that shimmer.” I actually think it makes some ppl look alot better – you know like take the attention away from any undesirable features they might have and feel self-conscious about. Not trying to sound mean, just honest – I think it might help out some of the more “homelier” ones as well. Think about it – are you gonna notice the multi-faceted twinkle on someone in the sunlight 1st before you notice that they have a lazy eye or that they have a scar that’s difficult to conceal? I personally think someone with too much blush (which I see alot), and/or too heavy eye makeup and/or too dark lip, too overdone brows like all Joan Crawford lookin’, very wrong colors for their skintone, or just too harshly done altogether looks alot worse. I think it ages someone and/or cheapens their look alot more than sparkle – this is all just my opinion though. It’s supposed to be fun + you only live once, but ehh, what do I know =p
