Well… I just use regular lotion on my feet when I feel they’re dry or I need to massage them after a long day. So… ambivalent?
I absolutely love foot cream. I am using Freeman’s Plum and peppermint foot lotion right now, because it absorbs very quickly. I have lots of scars on my feet from years and years of ballet, and since I started heavily moisturizing my feet (after I shower and right before bed), I’ve noticed the scarring growing much less noticeable. My feet also don’t blister as easily. Can’t live without a good foot cream! I am looking for a thicker one for winter, and I’m having trouble finding one from an animal-friendly brand. Any suggestions?
Try J.R.Watkins Peppermint Rejuvenating Foot Cream. I just picked this up at Ulta. It is all natural ingredients, dye-free, paraben-free, etc…and is not tested on animals. It is thick and creamy, but non-greasy once it absorbs…I like to use it after my pre-bedtime shower, throw on a pair of socks for an hour or two before bed to really help it soak in. The peppermint makes the feet feel good!
Hi MArley,
I just got AVEDA Foot relief. it is awesome!skin feels very soft and smells lovely.they also sell it in small tubes for travel. These are nice to try at first because they are more budget friendly ;)also: a little goes a long way
I usually just use regular body lotion on my feet but in general I really like the minty scent and cooling effective of foot creams on my feet. I have one by Jaqua Buttercream Foot cream. It smells like cupcakes and mint! The buttercream smells like sweet dessert but the mint makes it refreshing and light.
nothing works for me except the hospital grade Urea Cream (10% min.)
i have dry and easily crack feet and sensitive to most floor cleaning agent too. I now only use organic products for wooden/marble floor and that cut down the cracks on my feet. but still, i need my Urea Cream.
Great topic and I really would like to read more about other commercial products. thanks
Well I’m no expert on foot creams but I need them. Granted I haven’t tried any high end brands but the ones I have tried from walmart or drugstore just don’t smell good to me which is important. Do they have to have the mint in it? I did try one that was coconut scented and it was my favorite but of course I can’t find it anymore. The one’s I’ve tried do seem to work though just wished they would smell better:)
If you want them to smell better or be minty, buy a small bottle of peppermint essential oil. It’s all natural, smells like….well, peppermint, and has that cooling action on your feet. For a warming oil, use clove essential oil, BUT ONLY USE A LITTLE, ad test it first. Otherwise you may have burning, not warm feet. Also, try buying a shea butter lotion, most drugstores or natural food shops have them Just remember to buy the lotion, not pure shea butter, as it’s hard to melt and turn into a lotin if you don’t know how, but it is extremely moisturizing.
I wasn’t a fan until I tried Lush’s Fair Trade Foot Lotion. It really helps with swelling and tired feet!! A mush have for anyone who is on their feet a lot.
I find most foot creams don’t tend to absorb very well. So my feet end up feeling just greasy, not soft.
It’s a waste of money to me. I use body moisturizer on my feet and all over my body. Makes no sense to me buy foot cream when I can use that money to go toward another eyeshadow or lipglass or nail polish. Ha!
I love body shop pepermint foot cream!
I love foot cream. I need them! A body cream isn’t enough for my feet. I’ve tried tons, but only like a few. Some can also be used on hands during the dead of winter, without feeling like slime or taking a decade to absorb.
I have only ever tried one foot cream – Burts Bee’s Coconut Foot Creme – which is amazing! So moisturising and thick and has a plesant scent to it too. Get’s rid of hard dry skin overnight! 🙂
