Cue everyone saying DUO! before one or two comments names some other brand and a few people agreeing, saying Duo just doesn’t work for them.

Right? I have personally only tried Duo, and it works just fine for me, gets the job done. 🙂

My biggest problem is putting them on other people. I have had bad experiences applying them to models, and I felt stupid whenever something went wrong. I have had great success with Duo (the coveted fave of beauty enthusiasts), but when I used it, the model had trouble opening up her eye, and she said it stung a little. Ugh. I wish I could wave a magic wand and false lashes would just apply themselves. 😛

Ani_BEE Avatar

Try having your model not completely close their eyes while putting them on. There’s always a chance that you will glue the lids together being so close to the lash line.

The stinging is from the curing agent being a medical adhesive and similar to latex in that regard.

Thank you! Sometimes they don’t like having their eyes partially closed because they don’t like seeing things so close to their eye. But I will try this method. I’ll ask them to do it. Thanks, Ani!

I use Duo and I really like it. I can go all day, and then even sleep in them and they say on! It does take a minute to let it dry a bit before applying it though. But hey, it’s clear, can be added on, comes off easily, and really works!

I have worn false eyelashes since I was 17 years old- now I am 59. I have tried several different ones but Duo continues to be my favorite and works the best for me. I don’t like the fishy smell which I think is the latex. I also like Precision lash glue by Revlon but with that one the glue does not seem to peel off as easily after taking them off. I also feel that with that one the eyelash does not seem adhered so tightly although it has quick drying time.

Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive. They have a new lash glue with a brush tip applicator. It goes on with a pearly blue-purple color and dries clear. It holds with just a thin swipe of glue and you don’t have to wait 30 or 45 seconds. The little brush is great if the lash ends start to come up. I’ve tried it with many different brands of lashes and it holds them all. After I tried the Revlon lash glue I haven’t went back to Duo.

I have both the clear drying and dark drying DUO, and I honestly don’t see any difference between the two. I don’t notice the smell, but sometimes my eyes will sting while it’s drying.

I absolutely love the newer Revlon lash glue. I love the applicator and the slightly neon tint that shows up nicely on the lash strip. It dries quickly and clear. It has lasts all day for me.

I will reiterate what everyone is saying here, DUO! I used to purchase it at Shoppers Drug Mart, and then they made their own “Quo” lash glue. I figured I would try it, and it was absolutely awful. I will never stray again.

amanda Avatar

I have the dark toned duo, but i haventused it yet, as im waiting to finish up my Quo glue, which is usually fine but lately just has not been cooperating at all, and has also managed to sting quite a few times. But i have never heard any other brands besides ardell, duo, and quo, plus i guess the mufe one thats with the individual lashes

I use the Revlon waterproof one. I like that it comes in a tube with a brush- very easy-to-use. But holy hell it is SO HARD to get off. No matter what I do there are always bits left over the next day.

love: they make my beautiful lashes stay on
hate: the smell, the fact that some of them don’t stay on strong, the glue does not dissolve with makeup remover
Otherwise indifferent to: the consistency
What drives you bananas: the smell!!!!
What makes them necessary: the fact that I would not have very long, super dramatic eyelashes if I didn’t use it!

I use Lash Grip and have recently switched from “clear” to dark because I found that the clear doesn’t really dry clear it’s more of an off white/cream colour.

Anita Avatar

I’ve only used duo and I hate it lol. it seems like there’s only a small window of time where the glue is sticky, and then it turns dry >.< the corners always wind up peeling XD

Agkelos Avatar

I usually don’t use falsies and only on special occasions at that. I have not tried Duo because the squeezy tube is just not to my taste. The one I have been using is by Kiss. It comes in a bottle with a slanted applicator just like the Revlon one expect the applicator is firmer and the glue is a white that dries to clear. It works pretty well and the applicator is great for touch-ups.

I got the Ardell lash glue for free while buying some Ardell falsies, and it’s awful. The lashes would be starting to fall off my eye by the evening. I picked up the Duo glue and it lasts all day. I just wish applying lash glue wasn’t such a clumpy, sticky mess.

i use this japanese thing called “eyetalk”…it’s for making double-eyelids (that crazy glue) but my friend SWORE by it for falsies. since trying it, i haven’t looked back! it’s latex tho, some people are allergic right? but it doesnt sting my eyes at all!

Adelita Avatar

Have you seen Japanese gals with their heavy eye makeup? I always trust my liquid/gel liners, mascaras, false lashes & the false lashes glue with Japanese products. If you want drama w/ the staying power, go with Japanese eye makeup! But…, being saying that, I’m not a big fan of their eyeshadow since they mostly create pastel colors and I’m more like vibrant/bold to neutral or smoky color kinda girl.

Anyway, back to topic, my top picks for false lashes glue are: Rubotan, Koji Dolly Wink & EyeTalk.

Kate & Zena Avatar

What I really dislike about false eyelash glue is that 99.9% of them contain latex and/or formaldehyde. I am extremely allergic to formaldehyde and I have a sensitivity to latex that’s starting to develop into an allergy.

It makes wearing false eyelashes impossible as I can’t wear the glue!

Does anyone know of an eyelash glue that DOES NOT contain latex or formaldehyde?

Kaaaala Avatar

Precision lash glue by Revlon or Eyelure glue that comes with there lashes is amazing, only available in europe though, think they’ve started them at Ulta too…

Tanushree Avatar

Love the duo…i tried the illamasqua one that comes with their lashes last week and its TERRIBLE it wouldnt come off with anything and got stuck to my eyeliner ugh
