I think they are really creepy. unless someone had a birth defect/their lashes are not sufficient in protecting their eyes, or they were in some kind of accident that left them sans sufficient eyelashes i really can’t understand the use of them. i guess its like any cosmetic surgery where if it makes the person happy and more comfortable in their body it isn’t any of my business but still – you SEE out of your eyes and you only get one set. i have poor vision as it is and don’t want to mess with them further for the sake of long lush lashes – curling, priming, and mascara are enough for me.

Hannah Avatar

I think the super long lashes the effective products create are creepy. The only reason people have lashes that long naturally is due to some disease.

sandi Avatar

I’ve only tried RapidLash and it does work! My lashes were rubbing against my sunglasses so I had to stop during the summer. Give it time though… I didn’t really notice until after about 1 1/2 – 2 months. I noticed more length than volume.

Lee Avatar

I’m scared of them. I’m interested because I do have stubby little lashes but it’s messing with your eye area. Plus I have blue eyes and evidently some of them can cause an eye color change to brown.

Kelly Avatar

I’m currently using Careprost (generic of Latisse), and have been since July. My lashes look amazing! Before they were average length, average thickness, didn’t hold a curl. Now they’re long and super thick, plus they hold a curl with any mascara I use. I haven’t had any bad side effects, aside from dry eyes for the first couple of days. I also should mention I have blue eyes and blonde lashes, and neither have changed color at all.

I’ve also tried Tarte’s Multipleye treatment, but that didn’t do anything for my lashes whatsoever.

Ani_BEE Avatar

Although the claim that you can see your lashing instantly growth in one application is pure crockery Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara does work but it’s not super dramatic. It did make my lashes longer in 2 weeks time. I’m not sure how it works though since the product never touches the root of the lashes really.

If your really want to have for lashes grow longer look for the ingredients found in glaucoma eye drops. My grandma had to trim her lashes back white using the eyedrops on her one eye.

Listening to the side effects for Latisse always wierded me out – I mean, okay, I get more lashes but my green eyes might “Darken” (whatever that means) and it’s probably irreversible? Gah. No thanks.

Ria Avatar

I love them! I use Saya 9 Days Tonic and it really works. The price is cheap too, compared to most other brands. I’ve seen them run into the hundreds! Not worth it for that much, but I can spare $40 for more lashes.

It doesn’t really work for volume though, just length. In order to create more volume, you would have to sprout more follicles, and no serum can do that!

I had great results with NeuLash and Lilash. Neulash is a bit pricey, but it worked very well. Both gave me significantly longer lashes. The only side effect I noticed was that my eyes were a bit red the first few days I used Neulash. Other than that, I haven’t noticed anything except long lashes 🙂

Naomi Avatar

I am on my third day of using NeuLash and noticed my eyelids were a bit red and am thinking I should stop using it. How long did the redness last for you? Did it eventually go away?

tg Avatar

RapidLash for sure. It works just as well as Latisse (in my experience) and is a fraction of the cost. I look for 20% off deals on Spalook and Skinstore. Recently drugstore.com had a really good deal on it, so I picked up an extra. I’ve been using it for over a year and now just use it a few times a week to maintain the growth.

I bought it mainly for my eyebrows, which were sparse on the ends, and sure enough, they grew in some.

Mafalda Avatar

I have been using Talika Lipocils Expert for 30 days now and I have seen an improvement on the length, color and fulness of my lashes. You are supossed to use it for 28 days morning and night but I still have enough product for another month though now I only use it at night. The best part is thaht just on the first week I received tons of compliments on my eyelashes and nobody now I was using it so I guess it works 🙂
The downside is the price, in the US is 45$ while I got it in Spain for only 20 euro. 🙁

Susan Avatar

I just picked up the smashbox lash revival at sephora, pretty cheap, $34 so we’ll see how it goes. I noticed that as I get older my lashes are thinning out a lot.

Lindsey Avatar

I don’t like it, because I feel like it’s cosmetic surgery and I am not for cosmetic surgery. Mascara and falsies should be enough. I’ve also heard the prescription ones can cause discoloration in your eye/eyelids.

Debbie Avatar

I used Fusion Stimulash for a while, but I found it very irritating. Plus I only noticed a little growth – not worth the irritation. I’ve been using Lilash for about 5 weeks and it has made a huge difference – my lashes are significantly longer and darker. People have been commenting on my lashes a lot the last two weeks. I would definitely recommend Lilash.

Marian Avatar

I’ve been using Latisse for over a year now and I love it. My lashes are long for the first time in my life. I use very little mascara now and I never use an eyelash curler as the Latisse made my lashes curl upward.
I see an opthamologist regularly as I have high pressure in my eyes and have had surgery to prevent a glaucoma incident. I use Latisse with his consent and he examines my eyes on a regular basis. I have dark eyes, BTW.

Christine B. Avatar

I’ve tried the Tarte one and the L’Oreal Lash Serum and both work really well. I can get away with any old mascara now and long & thick lashes make my eyes stand out more.

shonn Avatar

I have used Latisse since Feb and my eyelashes are crazy! People ask me all the time if I need to trim them. Now why if I was trying to grow them would i trim them?? lol
The warnings on Latisse really only apply if you drop the solution in your eyeball repeatatively. Which there is absolutely no way to get the solution in your eye, it does not drip. They just have to put that warning on the box.
You usually start seeing growth within 3-4 weeks when used everyday. I now only use it 3-4 times a week and still have awesome results

Eileen Avatar

Ditto, shonn! I can’t say enough good things about Latisse. Allergan has to be careful to publish all the caveats because there will always be someone who uses the product incorrectly. I get Latisse from my dermatologist and have my optometrist’s blessing. Latisse is a great product!

JoeyMelissa Avatar

Latisse definitely works! I will admit I can be a bit lazy about my beauty regimen, and sometimes I forget to apply, but if used consistently, it makes a huge difference in length, thickness, and darkness. I have straight, fine lashes that go down instead of out and up, and Latisse has helped! It is definitely pricey, but is a product that was FDA approved to treat glaucoma, so I am not scared to use it! I have dark brown eyes, so color change is not an issue for me, and my sister, who has hazel eyes, has not had an issue with increased pigmentation either. If you can afford Latisse, it is definitely worth it!

Mandy Avatar

RapidLash worked great for me! I got 2 for $80+ on costco.com (check out all the gazillion references there including mine)! It took about 2.5 months to really show up but the results were fantastic. I also used them on my eyebrows and they are growing after years! I lost a lot of eyelashes during a serious illness and I had a lot of gaps and sparse areas in my eyelashes but now they are completely filled up so I am back to a normal set of eyelashes. I always had long eyelashes but now they are a smidge longer and they curl up whereas earlier they were stick straight. I use less mascara now. I tried other lash growth ones but none did as great a job as Rapdilash plus there were no side effects whatsoever. I had bad eyesight all my life corrected with many RK and laser surgeries but I always had nice lashes. Had it not been for my illness where the meds made me lose 30% of my hair and left me with llama lashes that fell out and then grew in all directions, I probably would never have bothered with any lash growth serums but I would spend so much time using mascara to make my lashes look even and normal. One tube lasted 3 months and I probably will not rebuy after the 2nd tube unless it goes back to the same stage as after illness which I seriously doubt since I did have a nice set to begin with. I don’t usually gush about products but Rapidlash did make such a difference to me and corrected my problem and I hope that my review will make a difference for others too!

Julie Avatar

I’ve been using lilash for over a year now and will never look back. For me my makeup never looked complete because my eyelashes were pretty non-existent. Now my eyelashes are up to my eyebrows and boy do I need less mascara. I feel it gives me the look I like for myself and I’m happy about that. For me it’s been nothing but positive. I know this isn’t for all and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Karen Avatar

I’ve been using the one by L’Oreal and have had decent results and no side effects. My only complaint is that if you stop using it they’ll go back.

Carrie Ann Avatar

The possible side effects freak me out, so I would never try one of those serums. You don’t want to mess with your eyes. I’m happy with my eyelashes the way they are, so mascara is enough for me.

Heather Avatar

Lilash is amazing. My so-so lashes are long and thick after about 5 months of usage. I even feel comfortable not using mascara when I go out (if I’m going got a “natural” make-up look). Before, mascara was the one product I HAD to wear when I went out (over foundation even). After this tube runs out, I will be repurchasing (over and over again).

ali Avatar

I tried Latisse, and unfortunately, it darkened my eyes. I had dark blue eyes and now they are more or a muddied blue. I wish I would have listened. It did give me great lashes, though, for a while. Until I stopped using it. Then I had short lashes and poo-colored eyes. DON’T USE LATISSE.

El Avatar

I used Latisse and it works! I have the darkest brown eyes so I wasn’t worried about it changing my eye color. As for those asking “why bother?” Well, for me, I’ve always had long eyelashes. Long enough for people to compliment me, but they were never thick. However, they changed after I had kids…I have 4. For those who have had kids, you know that many times your hair sheds like crazy after you give birth, well so did my eyelashes. It’s hard losing a piece of yourself that you were so used to and even a little proud of. So at first I used the Arbonne lash enhancer cuz it’s all natural, etc. It totally worked but it took like 4 months of religious usage! So I gave in and got Latisse. I have way sensitive skin so it gets a little tingly and sometimes itchy for me, but once I got used to it, those symptoms went away. I can totally see a difference and I have my beautiful lashes back again!

Liliane Avatar

I would like to try one to get longer lashes, since I changed to a richer diet (more meat and carbs), I’ve got more and thicker lashes, but not that much longer ones.

Caelin Avatar

I bought the Marvala Double Lash a while ago and haven’t stopped using it since. It only costs around £8 and lasts forever! The only reason I repurchased was because I had my old one for so long that I thought it might be unhygienic to keep using it. Its made from natural ingredients so it has no nasty side effects, and it didnt cause any irritation or dryness to my eyes. I think it’s definitely made my lashes longer and fuller, I think it prolongs the lash cycle or something? I wont lie and say its stopped my eyelashes from falling out because it hasn’t, but i have noticed less falling out and when they do it doesn’t take as long for them to regrow. I always get asked if my eyelashes are fake, and most people don’t even realise when i do choose to wear fake lashes!

eveli Avatar

I use latisse, what I didn’t like about it that my lashes itched like crazy and my lashline got darker…I am now off it because I’m pregnant but I do plan to goback on it when safe againi hace really short eyelashes and really like how my lashes look while on latisse

Jessika Avatar

i have been using Latisse for sometime now..
i was nervous like most people of my iris darkening
it hasnt happened..
my doctors said that only happen if you use Latisse like eye drops
my lashes have grown a lot and im loving the results
only other bad side effect is that eyes tend to get a little itchy
not your actual eye but your eyelid where you apply the product
other then that no complaints

mkdallas Avatar

I’ve been using Latisse for about a year and have been quite pleased with the results. I do have brown eyes, so never have had to worry about discoloration. While I haven’t grown a thicker fringe of lashes, the ones I do have are really long now and one coat of a defining mascara is all I need. I have actually also been using it on my lower lash line (very sparse lashes) the whole time and they look way better!

Alison Avatar

My mom uses RapidLash, and it has made a massive difference. She used to have these stubby little lashes that no amount of mascara could help. Now her lashes are so long they brush the inside of her glasses. I use Biotherm Biocils Lash Optimizer, which works really well as an eye make up remover and gives my eyelashes an extra boost. They were fairly long to begin with but not very thick. It’s not a dramatic change but just noticeable enough, especially with a good mascara!

Jennie P Avatar

I have to say that I LOVE Latisse. Up until a few months ago, my eyelashes were pretty much non-existent. For years, it was morning after morning of perfectly applying mascara primer and then mascara. Combing out any clumps, trying to get as much length as I could without looking like spider-eyes. I started using Latisse several months ago and only needed about 8 weeks until I was completely blown away by the results. Now, I use it just a few times a week for maintenance and my beauty routine in the am has been cut down by at least 15 minutes ! Love Latisse !!!!

Cynthia Imperato Avatar

Rapid lash is amazing! I use it every night, and no longer even need to curl my lashed or apply more than one coat of mascara. I get compliments all the time on my newly long and lush lasjes, definately recommend!

rosie Avatar

after using rapid lash did your eyelashes start to break off, or anything like that? becuase i got a bottel for christmas and im scared to use it. iv heard alot of mixed results

Nora Avatar

I recommend l’oreal’s Lash Serum. Not expensive, totally reasonable if you use a coupon at Ulta and wait for a sale, and fairly effective. I’ve been really bad about using it regularly, but I have noticed decent results. The only side effect I can see is uneven lash growth patterns, but since you can’t control that, I almost didn’t mention it. For example, I’ve had one little lash dude be super long and flying in the wind on the corner of one eye. Lol

Hannah Avatar

I used the L’Oreal Lash Serum as well and thought I was the only one with uneven lash growth patterns… about 3 months after using it, lashes on one eye grew much longer than on the other! It looked so weird, and wasn’t better after about a couple of weeks, so I just stopped using it entirely.

Glenda Avatar

My lashes are sooo pitiful. They are thin, short, and offer NO sun protection at all. I have tried Loreal Lash Boosting Serum. It’s an inexpensive product. I didn’t notice any changes except that my lashes felt moisturized. I had less eyelash loss. Certain mascara’s make my lashes dry and brittle.

Paige Avatar

I’m indifferent to these eyelash growth serums. I’m happy with just using mascara (for everyday look) and false lashes (for special occasions i.e. Halloween).

Megan Avatar

I have tried the Lilash and it is amazing! I saw results in about 6 weeks and full results after 4 months! I get so many compliments on my youtube channel about my eyelashes (they are twice as long). I did not experience any side effects except for the first few weeks, my eyes were a bit red on the lashline but that is normal and it goes away. I would definitely recommend it.

Allison Avatar

I’ve been using the Loreal lash serum and although I don’t notice much of a difference in length, I do notice that my eyelashes don’t shed like they used to during makeup removal.

Hazel Avatar

I only used L’Oreal Lash renewal and I did notice an increase in thickness. I saw my baby lashes growing out. Also it seemed to strengthen my lashes, they don’t shed anymore even with makeup removal, same with the previous post.

alopecia sufferer Avatar

I was diagnosed with alopecia maybe seven years back. My eyelashes became very thin and weird (as in, some of them grow stick straight or downward toward my eyeball and others grow normally, and for whatever reason, they won’t curl, so I always have eyelashes that I have to trim or they touch my eyeball). I began to develop bald spots in my lashline. My eyebrows became patchy and I have to fill them in. Mascara became difficult to apply. It became a time consuming process to do my eye makeup.

I am so happy with my experience with Latisse. I look normal now. Nobody would look at me and wonder if maybe I’m sick with something. I can walk out of the house not wearing any makeup and I look ok! I no longer have weird eyelashes that grow stick straight or downward toward my eye. Mascara goes on more easily. I will never stop using Latisse unless there comes a day I am forced to! It’s been such a weight off my back!

Tam Avatar

I don’t understand why people are so anal about lash growth serums, as long as they are approved. I mean, people put om mascara, line their waterline and wear contact lenses, why are eyelash growths serums such a big deal?
I like DHCs one, it’s more of a moisturiser, it’s inexpensive and it lenghthens the lashes well
I tried RevitaLash in the past and although it works it’s not worth the price for the results you get

Mamavalveeta03 Avatar

I used Talika and got NO results at all. I really don’t believe they work unless you get prescription, Latisse. You may have more conditioned lashes, or darker, but not truly longer.

Summer Saiedi Avatar

I have been using RapidLash for about 3 weeks. Honestly Im not consistent with it but I have noticed results. My problem with my lashes is that they dont stay in! I have ridiculous fall out. After about a week, I noticed that the fall out was decreasing. 3 weeks into it, I noticed that I have more lashes than I EVER had but they are not long tho. But im ok with that. My mascara looks much much better on, they seem healthier, and last but not least…the fall out is basically ZILL TO NONE NOW!!! I bought this product on Amazon.com for about $22. It says that the tube will last 1-2 months if its only used on the eye lashes. People that say it is creepie dont understand what its like to have short lashes, or gaps, or barley non at all! Im glad I bought this product. If I had the money, I would love to try Idol Lash or Lilash. I have read amazing reviews of theses products!

Alicja Avatar

Right now i’m using RapidLash and i really love it! I’ve never had so long lashes before! Before i was using Mavala which was okay, but not so good as RL 🙂

Andréanne Avatar

Don’t think it’s really a growth treatment, but I love the l’Oreal one.
My lashes are stronger and more curly with it. Not much that long but still, I can see a difference!

Hilary Avatar

Rapidlash did not work for me
it made them slightly longer but then my lashes kept on falling out like 3-5 lashes everyday and i started having gaps

Lilash is my favourite
the best length and curl i’ve ever had
the only thing is it made my eyes slightly watery and i woke up with crazy crusts.. yeah not pretty! but the results are amazing

i also really like Peter Thomas Roth’s Lashes to Die Fore
it lengthens really well.. maybe just a tad less than lilash and less curl but still holds curl nicely with a curler and mascara
and i don’t have any side effects

i wish those who have never used eyelash grow product hold off on their judgement

also i know of someone who has used Latisse
and it works really well and no side effects
the only thing is its really hard to make one pack last more than one month and its so pricey so its not really economical

Lilash and Lashes to Die For have both lasted over 6 months… i’m still using Lashes to Die For… Lilash lasted about 8-9 months

Emmy Avatar

Has anyone used that organic foxyLash by KiwiFox. You can find them at Kiwifox.com I really want to try it but can’t find reviews anywhere.

Marie Avatar

I just got my new Lucky magazine and this eyelash serum is listed. Can anyone post a review? It costs around $59.00 and is an all natural botanics. It also has a 365 day money-back guarantee! thanks

Jacqui Avatar

There is a code on retailmenot.com for 50% off the kiwifox eyelash growth serum, so it’s only $30! I just ordered some, so we’ll see how it goes…

Emmy Avatar

I purchased mine a little after posting the comment and have been using it for a couple weeks. So far I see no change, but also do not notice any side effects. No irritation has occurred. I will continue to use it and post back my results.

Emmy Avatar

So after using it for a couple weeks now I do see some growth. However I don’t use it everyday and still see a significant increase, not as much as other brands, but still noticable. I have not experienced any side effects, but then again the only major side effect these serums have are iris browning and I already have brown eyes. All in all it’s okay. I’m not going to say it’s great, but for the price of thirty dollars it’s worth a try.

Cassie D. Avatar

My lashes where always long and thick but started thinning out with age. I now have gaps in my lashes which are made even more noticeable when I use the thickening mascara. I’ve been using Kiwifox eyelash stuff for about a week. I too looked for reviews before trying it but couldn’t find anything. I saw an ad for it in Allure. In their materials it states that it an ophthalmological treatment that cannot cause any issues with the eyes…even if you put it directly in your eye.

I’ve been using it as directed (once a day applied to clean dry skin). I’ve applied it at night, putting on a thin line on my upper and lower lashes. It says to not wash it off. My eyes have become very irritated and red so I’ve stopped applying and I’m waiting on an answer from the manufacturer.

They are not in the US so I’m not sure what my recourse will be.

Cassie D. Avatar

As an update to my July 20, 2011 post I made on FoxyLash, red eyes and irritation….I’ve been in contact with the company and they have agreed to refund my money. I thought I was responding directly back to a question about the product so I didn’t include the product name. That’s a mistake because if someone is searching for reviews (like I did before buying) on the product they wouldn’t find it. It took about 10 days for the redness and irritation to subside some. In all honesty, I have no way to know for certain if it was the product. but it was the only new thing I used on/around my eyes. My mascara was no more than 2 months old. And, I didn’t stick anything in my eyes. If the redness were to persist longer (and I’ve been using eye drops) I was going to have to seek medical attention. The company did send me a list of ingredients upon request. My eyes are still a little irritated but most of the redness is gone. I have never had a reaction with my eyes before.

Jessica Avatar

I use Foxylash and it works for me. I never got irritated but it took a few weeks before I noticed a difference. For the quality and price, I prefer this product and I really like their Aquasurge cream as well.
