I like cream nail polishes. They look classy and elegant especially when wearing in neon and dark shades. My favorite of cream nail polishes are China Glaze: For Audrey, Ravishing Darling and Spontaneous & Essie Limited Edition.

I love cream polishes. They are great for a sophisticated and “mature” nail look. Even if the colors are unconventional (greens, blacks, dark purples) I find a cream version to any color makes it look more versatile.

I like creme polishes but i prefer the jellyish finish to opaque, too opaque cremes look like plastic. A good creme polish is really glossy, elegant at sexy at the same time. They are more difficult to apply, though, as they tend to bubble more than shimmers/glitters/foils and any flaws in application are more visible.

I love creams! They are my favorite finish… They look so classic and sophisticated, but a great red cream can also be really sexy. My favorite is Vixen by Revlon, but Essie always comes out with some great fashion-forward, seasonal creams.

i love cream nail polishes. most of mine are cream which means i wear cream all of the time. although i do like my dark colors that are shimmery but i prefer my lighter colors to be creme. i LOVE misa dirty, sexy, money and rgb too red.

I pretty much always go for cream polishes, unless it’s a metallic (gold, silver, copper, bronze, etc.) or a dark colour with sophisticated shimmer. Or the occasional glitter-filled polish, but that’s rare.

I like them. As I usually choose cream nail polish on darker colors (almost always with reds, browns and associations) and transparent on lighter ones. Rarely I use scintillating or metallic enamel; more often layering cream nail polish over it to tone down the shine.

Cream polishes are by far my favorite finish. Some of my favorites include Rimmel Steel Gray, Models Own Slate Green, and Zoya Vanessa. Creams are simple and classy. I do tend to avoid lighter creams though, because they are often streaky and dry too fast. I love China Glaze’s creams.

I think I am the only person that hates them! I only own one that I like, Zoya’s Kelly. They are just so blah to me. Kelly is the exception since it is just so unique that shimmer or glitter would ruin it. Maybe they’ll grow on me some day!

I Love cream polishes especially becuase they tend to be opaque… i hate sheer polishes for the most part. They are think and apply failry easy in my opinion. The only thing i dislike is sometimes when they are too think they tend to peel.

I used to hate cream polishes when I was younger but I find that over the past year I reach for creams nine times out of ten. Now that I’ve mastered how to apply them I love them. Essie and Sally Hansen make pretty good creams. Still hate frosts though.

Marian Avatar

Creams are my favorite finish but they are the most difficult to apply. I hate when they bubble or streak but when they go on well, they’re so darned classy!

I love creams! My favorite is a red cream from China Glaze (don’t know the name) but every time I wear it I feel like I’m straight out of Mad Men! Especially when I pair it with black cat-eye liner and Ruby Woo on my lips… cream polishes are classy!

Does anyone know how I can find out the finish of the polish before buying it? Specifically, Essie and OPI? I have some polishes from those brands that are cremes and others that are not. I can only tell from the initial application and the finish is not mentioned on the polish bottle. Is it supposed to be on the bottle somewhere?

JennJam Avatar

Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like with OPI polishes you can tell through the bottle which shades are cream b/c they don’t look at all shimmery or glittery. If the color has the slightest shimmer to it, it’s not a cream, I believe.
Someone, please correct me if I’m wrong, though.

I just like shimmer too much to be very fond of creams. I think the only cream I own is For Audrey (which applied wonderfully opaque in one coat), but I looked at it once I was done and then I reached for Hidden Treasure and put it on top.

Janet Avatar

I work in a conservative job and can’t wear bright or glittery polishes. I find more light colors in cream to pearl polishes that I can wear to work.

I prefer shimmers and metallics to creams;creams are harder to apply and the finish doesn’t last as long.My favorite cream polish is by Rimmel;I can’t remember the shade name, but I call it greige.
