Is it too much to ask that PMG create a highlighter for very fair skin that isn’t blue, iridescent pink or champagne/gold??? It can’t be that difficult to make a pale pink with a cool silvery or neutral undertone. A universal shade of highlighter doesn’t exist and not everyone can wear the very warm gold, peach and pink/gold duochrome she keeps launching.
This is a hard pass for me. I’ve gotten into more natural colored highlights so having a blue or lavender stripe across my cheekbones is not in my comfort zone. Even if I did like it, I wouldn’t spend $58
I actually love the look of this, and the size/amount of each product is pretty good … but $58 is rather high, and more importantly I don’t see ingredients listed anywhere? Breakout-prone skin means I can NOT gamble with what I’m smearing all over my face, so it’s a “nah” from me.
Definitely not for me! This would look atrocious on my medium to medium-tan olive skintone. It would, however, look fabulous on very cool-toned richer skintones, though!
Oh I’m sorry this seems gimmicky to me. When will McGrath come out with a bronzer. I’m not clear why she constantly steers clear of bronzing. It baffles me.
I’m always a sucker for cream highlights and unusual shades. But the reason I didn’t pick up the first round of these stick highlighters is that they’re formulated with silicones. Information that will shock no one – PMG is just like every other brand in that they don’t think it’s worth putting their ingredients online. Which is just a real easy way to let me know I’m not welcome as a customer.

You know, definitely I won’t purchase it due to the price and it being a highlighter (thus not needed), BUT it is in line with her orignal flare for iridescence. I would suggest that she keep with that, but make sure to show us that you CAN use this subtly and elegantly and in a near natural way when using it. That said, I personally prefer her coming out with something like this, which I DO think is in line with her original niche and people just not buy it and go to a brand that suits natural looks, say Charlotte Tilbury, Dose of Colors, or the numerous others that exist. I think that’s why (in addition to the customer service issues!!! and the industry overall being topped out) the brand is troubled. Her brand may be trying to move into being everything for everyone and I just think her brand is Pulp Fiction-like versus Bridgerton. I’d rethink, remake smaller, but niche.
I would agree with this take. I really like PMG because she was releasing things that weren’t in line with the rest of trends – she was bucking them, or giving them a much needed refresh. I personally LOVE looking like a space fae creature so for me, it was a pickup. Like you said, there are 100’s of other brands out there dedicated to doing neutrals and natural tones so if I need a new beige or mauve, I’m covered. But for my daily wear, please bring on the Pulp Fiction. This is the first release from her in a while where I was excited to see it and ordered it. I like the idea of going back to niche. Those original labs that she did were so amazing and refreshing at the time because everyone else was trying to recreate the Naked and Modern Romance palettes. PMG comes in with liquid metallics and powerful duochromes and ink blues.
