Pat McGrath x Star Wars (2023) Collection Swatches
Pat McGrath x Star Wars is back again with three, limited edition 5-pan eyeshadow palettes and four semi-pressed eyeshadows in jars (new product). I was surprised that the Chromaluxe Artistry Pigments were more metallic/sparkly since that is often why you’d opt for a looser or semi-pressed formula. Here are swatches of everything, plus the recently-released Rouge 8 lipstick!

Out of everything, it’s the Rouge 8 lipstick that has my heart palpitating!
I want to love the eyeshadow quints, but the YT reviews have me feeling a way towards them. Perhaps you will have a completely different experience with these, though. One can only hope!
I really like Sith seduction one but really only for Galactic Conquest. Although I have to say that the KV dazzle eyeshadow stick in green flash that I bought on a whim the other day is really delivering!
Now ladies, (and particularly Christine), a bit off topic but I need your combined knowledge and help: a friend of mine that notices my love of make up has asked me to chose an eyeshadow palette for her and I’m a bit lost because her eyes are a different colour (pale-ish blue) and quite hooded (she’s in her 50s) and she doesn’t really see herself in metallics and shimmers which are my bread and butter. So I’m thinking something mostly matte (a couple shimmers/metallics would be ok) of very good quality with some browns, greys and discreet purple/violet. Any ideas?
THANKS!!
Maybe Natasha Denona’s Glam or Biba palette? Something more plum toned would be ND Retro. If she is lighter in skin tone, she might like Tarte’s In Bloom palette, too.
will definitely check those four since she’s light skinned, thanks!
Viseart Cashmerie or Paris Edit, possibly? Their satins, shimmers, etc. are incredibly forgiving, in my experience (I’ve always had moderately hooded eyes) and don’t tend to emphasize texture.
Will check those, thanks!
Biance, as a person in her late 60’s and loves makeup – I have blue/grey eyes, a very pale complexion and hooded eyes – so maybe I can help you. My recommendations would be:
ND’s Glam – the shimmers in this palette are very soft and there is a range of neutral/cool shades to suit.
Lorac Noir – a mix of warm and cool tones.
Or you could ask her to pick out her favourite Sydney Grace shades and create her own singles palette. Christine has reviewed all of these and has even a round up of the best.
This may ultimately be better than a palette because there are often shades we don’t use and it’s a waste of money.
Good luck!
Thanks for your suggestions Genevieve. Not sure about the Sydney Grace ones since she’s depending on me for it but maybe it would be a good idea for her and I to have a drink together and chose the shades!
Any of the viseart etendu palettes – usually they are mostly matte but with a few shimmer. And the shimmer isn’t blinding so may be good on an older eye! Cashmerie is pretty universal.
Thanks Katrina, will have a look!
These are all lovely. I particularly like Sith Seduction and The Golden One – although to me it is marred by the inclusion of the coral shade and would have loved the Bronze Circuit in it instead. I love PMF’s bronze shades – they are so good.
