Pat McGrath Celestial Odyssey Mega MTHRSHP Palette Swatches

My Pat McGrath Celestial Odyssey Mega MTHRSHP Palette ($78.00) order just arrived yesterday, and I was able to photograph/swatch it to share with you today, though it’ll take me longer to test and write up the review. There was nothing amiss upon initial testing, in case that’s all the confirmation you need. Here are the swatches!

I can see some people really loving this palette, but to me it’s just a neutral palette with a pop of blue and green.
You’re absolutely right. I was wondering why I felt so… nonplussed about this palette, and I think you’ve nailed it. Also to me, the shades don’t feel as saturated or “special” enough to be worth it. Glad I can pass!
Those were exactly my thoughts on this too, Celesta. It’s very “basic”. Great for someone new to the brand, but not for those with many of her other palettes.
It’s a *pink* palette with a pop of blue and green. I counted 8 pink shadows in the lot and I’m not touching that with a twelve foot pole. On my skintone I can’t consider pinks neutral and it drives me crazy that’s all companies are putting out these days (and have for at least the last five years)
These are so my shades. Maybe that’s why I have so many similar ones already. I will try to hang tough on this.
WOW! Christine, that is slow delivery. I am in the UK ordered using the code on early release, and it arrived with me in the UK on Monday afternoon. I love the palette.
It goes ground here from the east coast to west coast, so I imagine it having to go air to get to the UK speeds it up a lot!
I love how you know your readers so well with that last line re: nothing amiss! Still on the fence with this tbh. Trying to make better use of my money
As pretty as it looks, having her quad Nocturnal Nirvana from a few years ago fills the green and blue shoes for me within her brand. The rest of the shades look very common to her brand. It would be an excellent way for a newcomer to PML to dip their toes (brushes?) into her eyeshadow formula, though, as the quality certainly appears to be consistent with the rest of her line.
I was kind of into the color story but the swatches made me lose interest. As other commenters have said, not quite “spectacular” enough to justify the price point. Your eye look, as usual, however, is gorgeous.
I am debating if it is worth to purchase this having already the celestial divinity? Probably not, but I am quite sure that if this will be still available for the black friday sales (and black friday usually falls the week of my birthday), the tentation would be strong nevertheless 😅. Hope this is going to be rated so and so or to sold out for the black friday (the latter is much more probable 😆)
Bronze Nova and Bronze Eclipse are pretty similar! Also there’s PMG’s typical gold shade that’s in every palette.
I love the shade Noir, but nothing else in this palette is exciting enough for me to want the whole thing. Maybe I’ll get lucky and Noir will become available as a single shade in the future or there will be close dupes to it that I can get without the massive splurge!
What a beautiful eye look you’ve done, Christine. I’m hoping I can replicate it with products I have already. As others have said, it’s neutrals with a few pops of colour and also some beautiful sheen. But nothing “un-dupe-able”, especially for $103 CDN.
I just got this palette and pictures don’t do it justice. I have most of her other motherships, I skipped last year’s holiday palette and so I was unsure of whether or not I should get this. I’m so glad though. There’s a beautiful shift to several shades and those greens are to die for. Very happy with this.
It’s nice, but since I have a few Motherships, last year’s holiday palette, and a quad, there’s no urgency for me to get this. I’m tempted by the blushes, but the set I’d get has one blush I’d rarely use, so holding off for now!
Yes! I just saved $78! I mean it’s pretty. But I can pass without Fomo. Thanks for the swatches Christine. We all appreciate your hard work!
I’m excited about this! I don’t have a lot of her palettes, but I can see that if you do there is overlap. I love Celestial Divinity and I’m hoping to do some looks that combine both palettes! I’m waiting until this is available at Sephora to try to snag it at the fall 20% off sale.
I got close to purchasing but then abandoned my cart. The only interesting shadows to me are the Nirvana (kinda like Lapis Luxury in Decadence MS) , Lunar Haze (reminds me of Lunar Illumination in your palette with SG) and Rose Venus– I actually bought a back up of that single shadow, but it was so fragile that it became a pile of rubble way too soon.
I thought the same thing about Lunar Haze looking like Lunar Illumination.
Wow, with the exception of the matte pink and lavender shimmer, I can dupe all these shades (close enough) with the three Temptalia palettes and my collection of Sydney Grace singles! 🙂
Like all of PMG’s palettes, it’s beautiful to look at – but it also has a ‘sameness’ to it from my eye. There are the usual suspects here: a bronze, a gold, far too many pinks in it for me to consider, and some neutral brown shades. The blue and green leaning shades do look lovely. It’s also a very large palette with a hefty price tag, so you’ve got to love it all.
Stunning eye look Christine – you have really created a beautiful eye look here.
So glad I didn’t buy it yet. Am looking at the swatches. Have so many similar from her palettes. Am interested in noir and corrupt copper. Doubt I will buy this palette now. Thank you Christine. Money and space saved
I’ll admit it – when I saw the first preview of the palette opened, I was underwhelmed (what everyone else said re: pinks and golds, etc.) but after seeing Citrine Envy and Corrupt Copper (and the eye looks especially for the former), I was sold! I ordered on release day and ordered the highlighter today! I’m really excited to get this one to be honest but yes, it’s mainly the usual with pops of colour. I hope that Mothership X (which I’m sure is already in the works) gives us something truly unique!
It is pretty, but there are not enough shades that are special or unique to my collection to justify this purchase.
This might be the time for me to take the plunge and buy my first Pat McGrath item! It looks great 🙂
It’s not a bad looking palette, but nothing remarkable. I do love Noir Moon and hope to find dupes for it, or maybe I already have some poor forgotten one.
I don’t see anything “super nova” or “galactic” or even “celestial” in this.
It’s an easy pass for me and how I love finding easy passes!
I do wish this palette did not have so many red-pink colors. The shades that call to me are all the others.
The bundles look like great deals but I am waiting on the gorgeous consistent Temptalia lighting to decide if I want any of the quads before placing my order 🙂
Nope, only Citrine Envy interests me.
Got mine today & was very disappointed to find the Bronze Nova shade broken. Getting ready to see if I can repress it without making a huge mess.
Your eye look is pretty as usual!! I got this 2 days ago and am waiting to try it out til this weekend when I have the time to play. TBH I thought the price of $78 was a steal/mistake – because it has so many shadows I thought it would be closer to 200 but I guess the cardboard packaging really brings the price down and I don’t mind:)- I think the colors are pretty and feel like I’ll use them more than the other large palettes of hers that I’ve tried. I gravitate towards neutrals, I’ve purged/curated my palettes and the only ones of hers I kept are bronze temptation and bronze ambition. Hopefully this one will be a keeper too;)
I’ll probably end up getting this one. All I have from PMG are the Lovestruck, Cherish, and Divine Rose blushes and the Celestial Divinity palette, and I think CD and CO would work well together!
