Do you have a Cosmetics Company Store/Outlet near you? You often find them in outlet malls and they have brands like MAC, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, etc. Last time I was at mine they had the Enchanted quad for maybe $55? Their inventory comes and goes but it might be worth the search for you

I missed out on some of the earlier OCC Lip Tar sets, which had colors that I liked at a really good price. At that time I didn’t even know what lip tars were.

I’m still irked by the Urban Decay/Vice LTD situation… There were only a couple of shades I wanted/don’t have, but it just would have made everything more “complete”.

I also kept putting off the tarte NeutralEyes II palette, and while I can pretty much “dupe” among all my other tarte palettes, it still feels like it’s missing, LOL!

koolchicken Avatar

It is now, and I suspect will always be, tarte’s beMATTEnificent palette. I didn’t know about it until it was too late and I’m still so, so sad. I know it can still be bought on eBay, but I just can’t bring myself to pay those inflated prices. I’ve been trying to find exact tarte dupes for the shades. I’m sure it’s possible, it’ll just take time.

xamyx Avatar

Try looking into some of the older 10-pan palettes, which can still be found on eBay at less than retail. I really wanted that palette, as well, mainly for the blush, as all the eyeshadows seemed to similar to those in my tarte stash already-however, I don’t know how *exact*, but quite close!

Donna Avatar

Yes! I agree with this. It was something I was unsure of and when I finally made up my mind – it was gone. So sad. It was one of the more logical pallets to get!

I’m sure there’s a palette I feel like I missed out on… But the the one that got away for me is actually MAC Honey Jasmine blush! I still have it on an eBay watch list. Oh yeah! I did want the UD Vice LTD palette – it’s ‘loved’ on my Sephora wish list but alas… I remember seeing it on Sephora for like 5 minutes one day & was like ‘I haven’t heard about this?’ Then it was gone. It’s the only Vice palette I’ve really been interested in!

xamyx Avatar

That palette was a joke on UD’s own site. It was supposed to go up at 1 am, and I went online at a little after midnight until about 4 am, but it never appeared. It had also sold out before I received my “notification”… UD has lost a customer; I simply can’t be bothered by brands that play the “hype” game. Even MAC has gotten better about it, and I think they’re actually releasing more product…

charlotte Avatar

I didn’t get seriously into makeup until after it released. I’m a huge Alice fan so when I learned about it after the fact I was heartbroken.. two of my biggest interests in one.

April Avatar

Oh man…first one that comes to mind is the Vice LTD, which I would have gotten if I could wake up in the middle of the night in a school night… The next one is the Make Up Forever Studio Case 🙁 It just went out of stock and I’m kicking myself over not getting it. I was planning to use Christmas money to get it but… too late now…

Maggie trout Avatar

I wish I had gotten the Nars guy bourdin one night stand check palette last Christmas. I don’t like the one this Christmas as much…but thanks to eBay I was still able to get it! Merry Christmas to me, lol! And merry Christmas to you!

Nicole Avatar

Imo,you are not missing out on anything too much. I mean It’s nice. But,nothing special.I have it,rarely reach for it. I find a lot of it is not on par with the Lorac Pro palettes.

Kellie Avatar

Bare Escentuals The Playlist comes to mind. I’m not completely bummed because all of the colors exist elsewhere however, I hate that I realized its beauty after it became long gone.

Genevieve Avatar

I found that one really hard to get too. I eventually picked it up online from an Irish retailer – and I live in Australia. It is a fantastic product. There is currently one on offer from ebay – from the US (if you live there it will be much cheaper). I hope you can get it – it is worth it. I just checked it out for you.

Eileen Avatar

Not a thing! If I miss out on something, there is always something new just around the corner. Rather than obsess about what got away, I prefer to think about what’s to come. As for the get-it-before-it’s-gone LE palettes, they’re only meant to be “of the moment” and will quickly be replaced by something else to entice buyers.

Sarah Avatar

I think this question is underestimating my impulsive nature! I more often ending up buying palettes I don’t use rather than not buying ones I wish I’d purchased!

Taylor Avatar

The UD Vice 2 :(. I got into makeup this year and fell in love with that palette which I didn’t realize was limited edition at first. I’m not an online shopper really so it’s impossible for me to get my hands on it and the sephora in my town just opened up 7 weeks ago. If only I got into makeup one year earlier lol. *shakes fist*

Heather Avatar

My “one that got away” used to be the original Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette, but I finally sucked it up and bought one on eBay at a ridiculously inflated price. Ultimately worth it, as the shadows are amazing.

I guess my only remaining regret is the TARTE Aqualillies palette; I live in the tropics and could really use a summery, waterproof, all-in-one palette.

April Avatar

I forgot about that one! 🙁 By the time I got into palettes, it had been sold out. What a bummer, it’s beautiful! And so rare to find a palette with that much variety in colors!

Sarah S. Avatar

The Cinderella palette from Sephora! I didn’t know if I should spend the money on it and by the time I decided to get it it was too late. I’m still so sad about it because Cinderella is my favorite!

Tangie W Avatar

Dior Mitzah. But I got Cuir Cannage. Close enough. Lol. That’s all come to mind. If I don’t get something I don’t dwell on it. It’s makeup LOL..!

Melissa29 Avatar

I wish I would have purchased the Tom Ford Burnished Amber eye quad. I love all the colors. The colors matched my complexion perfectly! It’s hard to come by a quad that can be useful everyday and use all the colors. I hope TF decides to release the quad again in the future. Do you ladies know of any other quads similar in color? Happy Holidays!

cara Avatar

Lorac pro (I only have unzipped) everyone talks so highly of it, I feel like I’m missing out. The one.I.wish I could have the most would be the makeup forever 30 year one.

Alison Avatar

The one who got away for me is probably Le Metier de Beaute’s Red my Lips, which is a shade I haven’t been able to find anywhere in the right finish and texture.

If it absolutely has to be a palette, Le Metier de Beaute’s Oscar de la Renta palette. That red gloss and the highlighter and teal shade make me want to die.

Hannah Mc Avatar

Anastasia lavish! The “rum cake” shade is such a NEED & they didn’t launch it with their singles :'( just the perfect warm smokey palette, wish I jumped on it!

Elizabeth Avatar

Dior Bonne Etoile. I waited a week to make sure I really wanted it, and POOF! It was sold out everywhere. I should have just bought it, but some of my other Dior palettes were so sorely lacking, then I saw your swatches Christine. I missed the bus on that one for sure!

kjh Avatar

UD 15th Anniversary, though i’ll DIE with an extensive UD rainbow. Gonna look real purty @ 80 with heavy duty UD glitz. I can see the young women i know raiding my stash for goodies, like in Zorba the Greek….

Olesya Avatar

Tom Ford Dip Nude! We don’t have Tom Ford beauty products in my country,so really sad I found out about this palette too late when it’s not possible to purchase it for a more or less reasonable price.

Sarah Avatar

Benefit’s Cheeky Sweet Spot…I saw it in stock once in October, and never again after that. I had wanted to try several of their blushes long-term for a few years, and it was almost the perfect combination of all the powders I wanted to try…bah. Going to scour the Macy’s shelves in the area and hope to get lucky…

keisha Avatar

I have to say, I have been very lucky and have gotten all the palettes that I could ever want, but I have to say that I did return Chanel’s Quadrille palette and wish I had kept it 🙁

Malia Avatar

Whoever mentioned dior mitzah… That one is a beauty and one of my most prized makeup items for sure, totally understandable.

I’m like others and can’t say I care too much about missing any particular palette, but.. One I recall is the kat von d I forgot the name, but where they eyeshadows were supposed to be “blendable. ” I’m not too into her though and the brand was really impossible for me to get at the time. No dwelling tho!

Lisa Avatar

Hmm palettes are a rare treat for me. I own only a few and do not find myself lusting over announcement of new ones coming out. (don’t get me wrong, I do like the ones I have and do use them but I prefer single products.) I suppose I am curious about the Lorac palettes. I received The Royal collection for Christmas and really enjoy the shadows. I had never used any Lorac products before so I am curious to explore more of this line.

Brenda Avatar

Christine, I have to laugh at your answer, only because you probably have every palette made in the last 10 years! (due to your career path, of course!!)

For me it would be Dior Beige Massai. I remember seeing it somewhere a few years ago and thought, nah. Stupid.

Not sure if this one is still around but I am lemming Bare Minerals Ready Minerals The Elements. I can’t satisfactorily dupe it. Must get on that one before it’s too late!

Benefit cheeky sweet spot. I’ve been on a no-buy forever since i don’t use as much as i have. I really want to try benefit’s blushes but have always hated the boxes. I already decided to buy and depot it into a zpalette (which i specially ordered it for) and it cannot be found anywhere!

I really wanted to buy the Too Faced Cat Eyes Palette, but It wasn’t available in Dubai, when I was living there. Now that I moved to the Netherlands (Amsterdam), I realized that there is no Sephora’s here, so Too Faced again is not available…. I really wanted that palette, and I had the chance to pick it up from Paris but I waited it to arrive to Dubai…silly me.
