Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access Now Live!
I am a personal fan of the annual Nordstrom Anniversary sale (right after this post, I’m indulging myself in some window shopping and hunting down of my basics, like some go-to jeans and tops and trying to avoid the shoe department like the plague). Here are some beauty exclusives that are on my list to pick up… (P.S. If you’re curious about what I get that’s non-beauty, let me know and I’ll share!)

These are some of the more interesting products that I saw on the site this morning. I am tempted to pick-up the La Mer set as a treat for my mom for her birthday (which isn’t until November), but we’ll see. You can view all of the Beauty Exclusives here. What’s on your list? What did you haul?
Christine, what is the Supergoop aerosol sunscreen like? It is “dry” enough to use on the face? (Not, like, every day, but on a 12-hour beach day when you need to reapply several times).
I haven’t used it before, actually! I’ve heard really good things about most of Supergoop’s products, though.
I’ve got sensitive skin and I can’t use ANYTHING but the Supergoop sunscreen but it’s pretty good for long beach days. It feels like an oil. I wouldn’t call it “dry”.
I grabbed a supergoop set last year and love it. I use it for me and my son because it’s gentle enuff for sensitive skin. I also use it on my face by spraying it in my hands then patting my face!
Just the Hourglass palette! Couldn’t have missed that, it has exactly the three shades in the powder, blush and bronzer which I don’t have an was planning to get anyway! 😀 It’s almost like HG read my mind

I’m so sad, last night it was still in stock but I didn’t want to wait up until 3Am so I got up at 7 and it was totally sold out! Oh well, some money saved I guess.

Love the Elizabeth and James Black Nirvana fragrance! All time fave!!
I’m surprised by how much I like the Black Nirvana scent. I have the dry shampoo and loveeee it!
I like the look of the Laura Mercier palette and the NARS cheek palette. Interesting that the LORAC palettes are only $18!!

There is just so much!! I am actually glad that a lot of these are brands I don’t typically purchase, it makes it easier to skip. I wish the Butter London sets were full-sized, I really hate minis as I find them sort of annoying to use and they dry out fast. The Drybar deal looks pretty great though I’m not sure if I actually need it or if I’m just attracted to the color, lol! Luckily I have a while to mull it all over since I don’t have early access ?
I haven’t noticed minis drying out faster but truth be told, I do not wear polish often enough to probably notice, lol.
BTW… do you think you’ll try to review the cosmetic items that you picked up when you receive them? I would looove to see a review of the Charlotte Tilbury palette and that Dior blush 🙂
I only bought them to review, but I can’t guarantee reviews or when I might review them – nothing will arrive here until next week (Nordstrom shipping takes a good week for me, and stupidly, I forgot to expedite shipping!) – and it really ends up depending on what other things I have to review at the time and whether the item is still available when I test it!

* Khiel’s Super Sized Lotion – I loved their body cream so I’m hoping I like this
* Charlotte Tilbury Palette – I have the first one which I absolutely love and feel it’s great for a day time look. I’m hoping this one can provide a night time look
* C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve Lip Balm Trio – I hope this is as good as everyone raves about
* MAC C’est Chic Eyeshadow Palette – not part of the sale but I love the colors in the review you did yesterday
* Diptyque Candle Set – I’ve always wanted to try Diptyque so this set seems like a good way to go about it
* Nest Sicilian Tangerine & Grapefruit Candele Duo – Nest has always been on my list to try as well

Fun! I always get the Kiehl’s jumbo Creme de Corps during the same, since it’s really my fave. I love how hydrating it is, and that there’s no added scent!
It’s interesting – the MAC palette is supposed to be a Nordstrom anniversary item, but it released early and is available to all!
Yes, I noticed that about the MAC C’est Chic palette. My guess is that since they released it early and to everyone, it’s going to go fast. But since it’s a popular palette, it’s a way to draw people to their site, in hopes they buy other stuff, and it seems to be working…
I’m curious about the other items you picked up, Christine. Do share.
Added a little widget of some of those things! 🙂 I managed to only get one pair of shoes (dark brown booties for fall, been looking for a brown pair for awhile). My other impulse purchase were some gold deco glasses that I’m going to use for makeup brushes.
I guess I better go look!

I’m hoping to get the Hourglass palette if it’s still around by the 22nd! I’ve never shopped the Norsdtrom sale before so I don’t really know how it works!
Fingers crossed! They usually have quite a bit of stock, so hopefully they’ll have it on the 22nd.

I’m so tempted to pick up Charlotte Tilbury’s all in one face palette and a few of the recently released Hot Lips but I don’t have a store near me to swatch and I don’t want to buy-to-try. The colors seem a good match so it will come down to texture and longevity. I will be going on a trip in a few weeks and I’m sure I’ll be able to find a store that carries but aaargh the waaaiiiiitttiinnng.
Have you tried any of Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick formulas before?

For sale items, I picked up Lancome Bi-Facil Duo, Glamglow Glamzing GravityMud set, and Deborah Lippmann The New Romantics set.
For non sale items, I picked up some black booties and 2 Chanel Tisse quads – Rivoli and Essentiel. I almost almost almost got a few Tom Ford quads but refrained – I just can’t bring myself to pick any more up (yet ?) because I know I can dupe them. I seriously need to just coast from here on out for a while until the Holiday sets parade comes to town. ?
Love Lancome Bi-Facil! Such a great remover. And I love having a travel size in my arsenal for, well, travel.
No way ANYONE can get through fall collections unscathed.. LOL..evil laughter.

Yeah, every time I think(hope) I won’t hit rouge or platinum, here comes fall to dash my dreams. Not being a pink/coral person, summer doesn’t do much damage. Saw a sneak on a new viseart that looks very fall. Bloody love fall collections.
I grabbed the Charlotte Tilbury palette, the Laure Mercier palette and the Rebel Nudes YSL lip set. Beauty budget definitely busted this month lol. I would love to see some of the non-beauty items you got. I just added that Ted Baker shirt to my wishlist. So pretty!

The second widget where you saw the Ted Baker shirt is my non-beauty haul, haha! I love Ted Baker’s prints – my favorite dress of all-time is actually a Ted Baker dress I splurged on for my sister’s graduation (which was oh, four years ago now?).
Love Ted Baker clothes too! If I need an outfit for a wedding, I usually look at Ted Baker and Coast (an UK clothes brand) first.

I’m actually being pretty good this year even tho as the sale goes on i’m sure i’ll do another order…or 2 **cue dramatic wall slide** I’m getting the dipytque candle set, nike training shoes, random long sleeve and some items for mason (my son) BUT I am on the verge of adding ONE of those YSL sets, just need to swatch the shades n check my stash to make sure i don’t repeat lol.

I picked up the CT palette and it is so gorgeous! The bronzer, blush and highlighter are new shades, and they eye shadows are perfect for me. I have the Hourglass palette and diptique candles shipping and I picked up the Kiehls Creme de Corps and the CT lippie in Kim K. Didn’t think I would like that color, but it’s very subtle and pretty. Happy shopping ladies!
Awesome! I was little confused as to whether the shades were new or from her Dolce Vita “look” that you can get from standalone products.
Fun stuff. I love those Art Deco highballs. I have a vintage set of turquoise and gold amoeba glasses that these would look great with. I have both the white and black Elizabeth and James perfumes. Actually my daughter has the white. Love them both.
I bought the MAC C’est Chic and the beauty blenders. I was eyeing that Kiehl’s but I have a whole container of the whipped grapefruit I just opened. Might still get it. Also got a Clarin’s Ombre Iridescente eyeshadow in silver green. Not on the sale though. Would like that Dior shadow too.
Non-beauty I got a Natori Hidden Glamour Contour Bra in camouflage. More green than camo, but a color I don’t have.

They caught my eye. I have been digging gold accents, which is not my norm! The Kiehl’s was hard to resist! It takes me so long to get through a jug, but I’m close enough that I think it should be okay!
Have you tried Natori’s bras before? They have good reviews on Nordstrom but haven’t tried it myself. I was tempted! I love the feel of the PJ Salvage pajama line. Soma (unrelated to Nordstrom) has some exceptionally soft loungewear/sleepwear, too.

Sorry for the delay. No, I hadn’t tried Natori bras before but I have to say I love them. I ended up getting another one, the Feathers’ Underwire Contour Bra. I might go for a third. They have such pretty colors along with the basics. Yes, the PJ Salvage is very soft. I will look into the Soma line.

I picked up the Neulash duo, Dennis Gross peel pass (non-holiday version), the new Armani mascara, the Fireo play to try out, Deborah Lippmann polish remover set, CdP cotton and eye cream and then still have to do an online order for things not in store. I’m mulling the Mercier and CT palettes but they didn’t have any you could see opened and as much as the shadows in CT are up my street, I’m not sure the blush and bronzer are going to work for pale skin with pink undertones. Anyone who has one, I’d be curious what you thought.
Oh, bummer to hear that they didn’t have testers out 🙁
No Nordie’s near me even has CT. All online. Would much prefer to swatch in person. Google images of the blush/bronzer. You might get an idea, if it’s posted on your skin twin.

I lost my beauty and accessory loving mind today LOL. I did get some birthday and Christmas gifts for family and friends so I don’t feel too bad about spending so much. For myself, I grabbed both of the $18 Lorac palettes, the Stila liner/mini liquid lip set, both Voluspa mini candle sets, the Mac Dusky Rose Times Nine palette (even though it isn’t a part of the sale), a monogrammed bag for work (since the school year starts back soon) by Cathy’s Concepts, and a vegan leather cross body by Sole Society the “Thalia” in burgundy for my fall bag, and some of the cute stemware for entertaining. I also made a second order for jeans. Nordies has the cutest ankle jeans for a petite lady like myself (4’10”) by the brand “Wit & Wisdom”. They are the perfect length and have the best stretch. I MAY or MAY NOT make a 3rd order before the sale ends 🙂
Elle Jaye! I LOVE Wit & Wisdom for jeans. They are so comfy, have a good stretch but don’t loosen so much after a wash that they look oversized.
I picked up the Nars kit 2 and the Laura Mercier palette. The Nars kit I am loving, I decided to get the LM kit mostly because I was interested in trying the bronzer and highlight in it. However, the eyeshadow colours are not as much fun. So, now I am having second thoughts! Trying to decide if I want to keep it or not.
Have you tried the LM palette on the eyes or just swatched it, Amirah?
Hey Christine! I tried a couple colours on my eyes, and swatched all the others on the back of my hand. I have also used the bronzer and highlighter on my face. The colour pay off, pigmentation and blend-ability is great. The colours though seem very dupable to me. Hence, having second thoughts 😀

Ahh there is just so much! I’m going to stock up on staples mostly for beauty, and I found some good gifts as well (there is a Lavender & Flaxseed neck pillow with a floral design that will be great for moms/aunts etc lol-it’s really pretty too).
The pillow is cute! I almost grabbed one, because I love lavender, but I reminded myself I have one right now (I don’t think it’s lavender) that’s similar and I don’t use it often, lol.
I know you like Laura Geller for other things, Christine. Wondering if you’ve tried her eyeliners.

Shucks, the hourglass palette and the beauty blender set were out of stock by the time I got online. Repurchased some of my Paula’s Choice skincare, but I think that’s it for me this year!

I ordered the Supergoop setting Mist, has anyone used it before? I know the aerosol sunscreen is great, I’m hoping the setting mist is just as good.
I haven’t, but I just got mine yesterday (probably will try it in the next week or so).
Hi Christine, I know this is an old post but did you end up buying the Ted baker top? How did it turn out for you? I saw it in your page and bought it and while the fabric and print are great, the loose fit combined with the v neck is making it look kind of awkward on me. I was just wondering if you had any ideas how you style it if you did get it?
