New York Fashion Week Fall 2008 - Backstage Beauty with MAC at Luca Luca, Herve Leger, and DKNY

LUCA LUCA | MAC Studio Tech Foundation was applied where needed for fresh, moisturized skin. Burgundy Paintstick was blended onto the apples of the cheeks with fingers. A small about of MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack was applied to the lash line with Brush 210. Eye lashes were curled and coated with Plush Lash Mascara in Black – heavy on the top lashes and light on the bottom lashes. A mixture of MAC Lip Pencils in Nightmoth and Chestnut were sheared out on the lips and Media Lipstick was layered over. A touch of MAC Crème Colour Base in Black was blended into the center of the lips with Brush 316.

“It’s all about a strong mouth. It’s sophisticated, but playful at the same time,” says Diane Kendal.

HERVE | Face and Body Foundation was buffed into the skin using Brush 187 followed by a touch of Blot Powder Loose on the t-zone. Cheeks were lightly contoured with MAC Crème Colour Base in Bamboo and highlighted with Crème Colour Base in Hush. MAC Gloss Texture was blended with Reflects Gold to create a sheer and shiny base on the lids. Photogravure Technakohl Eye Liner was smudged on the lash line using MAC Brush 224. PRO Lash Mascara in Black was brushed onto lashes using MAC Fan Brush 205 for a defined lash. MAC Paintstick in Cool Pink was faintly blotted onto lips.

“Sexy bond bitches – wet liquid eyes and gorgeous skin – a just-came-out-of-the-water look,” says Val Garland.

DKNY | MAC Select Moisturecover and Face and Body Foundation were applied to skin in appropriate colours as needed. Lady Blush Blushcreme was tapped high onto the cheekbone and blended out with fingers to create a natural flush. Lashes were curled at the roots and coated multiple times with MAC PRO Lash Mascara in Black.  MAC Lip Pencil in Beet was applied to the lips and sheered out to create a stain.

“Really fresh, innocent young girls with naturally rosy lips – a just-been-for-a-walk-in-the-country look,” says Charlotte Tilbury.

We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities!
