New! Smashbox Double Exposure Palette for Holiday 2014

Smashbox Double Exposure Palette
Smashbox Double Exposure Palette

This innovative eye palette features coated pigments formulated with coating technology to create multiple effects when wet, allowing the shadows to transform in one of four ways—allowing these 14 shadows to become 28 shades in just one palette. When wet, these colors amp up vibrancy, become deeper, turn metallic, or create sparkle for endless, customizable eye looks.

Apply eye shadows with the foolproof, double-ended brush. The domed in brush absorbs just the right amount of water for impactful color while the angled side creates a precise line when wet, a diffused line when dry. Then elevate looks for your eye shape with the #SHAPEMATTERS insert, featuring how-to’s for six shapes. Top off your looks with the included, Full Exposure Mascara, in a bonus, five-week supply.

I love the colors in this one as opposed to the first one. However, one major downfall at least to me is it appears there are only three matte shades. The upper right hand beige shade looks as if there is more shimmer to it. The first has a better balance between matte and shimmer. But I am excited to see swatches!

Really nice colours in this palette. I hope it will be really good. I’m one of those who bought and disliked Full Exposure. I still try it now and then, and it frustrates me so much. Yet I saw that Estefania liked it. sometimes I think there’s something wrong with mine 🙂
I hope they sent/will send this to you for swatching.

Hi, Helene!

It doesn’t surprise me that the first one frustrates you so much! I swear I debated getting it for the longest time because everyone I asked about it either hated it or absolutely loved it. Idk if this will help, but I bought mine with the intention of using the Too Faced Glitter Glue with the shimmer shades. I know it’s an extra step that most people don’t want to have to take, but it didn’t bother me. It’s actually one of my favorite palettes!

Hope that helps some! 🙂

I was also told by a woman who is a smashbox rep that the full exposure was revamped as of March 2014. So maybe you’s is older than that, and her’s is after march.

I’m VIB Rouge. I haven’t played with it yet…been busy playing with the other things in the haul I got from the sale, LOL, but it sure looks nice. It comes with a little plastic card that tells you what each one transforms into plus tips on creating different looks.

It’s hard for me to buy at the store because I only have a Sephora inside JC Penny and their selection is pretty limited. The closest free-standing store near me is an hour away so most of my shopping is online.

Am I the only one sick of cardboard packaging? Maybe I’m just being a negative nancy, but when I drop that much coin on a palette, I’d rather something a little nicer. That purple on the bottom row looks mighty fine, though.

I do like the look of this but I know that some of Smashbox’s recent palettes (eye ones and full face ones) have had really divergent reviews. I think there was a “Full Exposure” palette that was like that – a few people loved it but many said it was not good. I waffled back and forth with that one and decided to skip it. I’ll be eager to read reviews of this one, either here, if you review it, Christine, or on Makeup Alley.

I don’t know; the coating technology they’re talking about makes me nervous. It makes me think that if I tried one wet, it would get that unusable layer on top.

I’m all over this…i love the full exposure palette….just wish i was vib rouge! Also, wish they would’ve kept the same brush as the full exposure palette. …maybe in the future they will have a palette with more bright colors and mattes!
