Natural Makeup: Quick & Easy Browns

Natural Makeup: Quick & Easy Browns

My days are all messed up. I thought it was going to be Saturday, so I thought a neutral look would make for a good Saturday post… but no, it’s Friday. Had I known that, I would have definitely done something brighter. Boo!  And yeah, the lip combo for this look is a pricey one, so you could try MAC Kinda Sexy or Honeylove lipstick with Nymphette lipglass on top for a more affordable version!  (I am just determined to start using and finishing some of my higher-end lipsticks/glosses!)

HAPPY FRIDAY! 🙂

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Using the 239, apply All That Glitters eyeshadow on the inner two thirds of the lid. Lightly blend Soft Brown eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid with the 239. Next, apply Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow into the crease with the 226, lightly blending onto the outer lid. Blend Grain eyeshadow with the crease shade and highlight the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Underground eyeliner on the lower lash line. Finish by sweeping lashes with Supernova mascara.

For cheeks, apply Peach Nuance blush on the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116, then lightly pat Sugarbomb blush on the cheekbones for a little glow.

For lips, apply T2 lipstick first, and then layer #2 lipgloss for a complementing lip.

You look so perfect with this look, it’s so simple, but gorgeous at the same time.

Gorgeous as usual, Christine! Just a question: in the list of the products you used, you mention All That Glitters, in the description it’s Retrospeck. Which one did you use? 😉

imeldita Avatar

i’m guessing u didn’t use All That Glitters at all and decided on Retrospeck instead ? on the list of eyeshadows u had All That Glitters instead … but I guess it’s either/or right ?

Love this look but unfortunately, warm-reddish browns make me look tired.. Christine if you were to switch it up to cooler tones, which colors would you recommend?

Hey Christine, I love this look!

Can you tell me if soft brown is darker than wedge and lighter than espresso? And if swiss chocolate is lighter than espresso?

Basically, I have all that glitters (which I love) and I was looking for a somewhat neutral crease color that would still maintain the peachyness of all that glitters. I have espresso and I have wedge but I think that they are too dark and too light, respectively. If I could only get one crease color, which would you recommend?

THANKS!

That is a really pretty look and I actually have most of the eye products, so it’s something I could try to recreate. I probably never would’ve come up w/ it myself. Lovely.

Marília Avatar

wow….probably not the focus of this post, but your hair looks absolutely STUNNING! What did you use to make it look like that?

Haylie Avatar

Hey Christine, I recently purchased my first paint pot in Soft Ochre but when I apply it to my lid it comes out really really dry and caky. It tugs at my eyelid and looks horrible. Did I just get a bad one?

Christine Avatar

That’s so weird! It shouldn’t be dry or anything like that. I would take it back (if it’s convenient), or you could try microwaving it. I left mine opened for 2 days on accident, and it was pretty dry, so I microwaved it (without the cap!!), and it’s back to its creamy, lovely self.

Now I want peach nuance! Do you like it better than MAC peach ombre blush? I haven’t used Estee Lauder blush in about 7 years!

Your lashes look really good Christine!!  Like they’re naturally fluffy and you have no mascara on!  I love Fresh mascara!!  Your eyebrows are looking better and better too (not that they weren’t nice before =D)
