NARS Wicked Eyeshadow Duo Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Wicked Eyeshadow Duo

NARS Wicked Eyeshadow Duo

NARS Wicked Eyeshadow Duo ($32.00 for 0.14 oz.) features a pale, shimmering green with an almost gold shimmer and a brighter pop of chartreuse with soft gold shimmer.  The texture is soft, smooth, and the color pay off excellent.  I love that you can actually use this duo on its own or mix and match with other eyeshadows you own.  It’s also a nice permanent option for spring/summer colors.

  • Product: 29/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a fun color combo that will work exceptionally on warmer skin tones.  Cooler skin tones can make this work, too, because of the paler green, and it would be nice paired with a cooler blue or teal.

I am LOVING these colors. That greenish/yellow was one of my favorite colors a few years ago (haha)… I just dont think that I would ever wear it on my eyes. But just b/c I love that color so much I think that I NEED to own it. HAHA. Thanks so much for sharing!

I’m a cool and I’ve rocked chartreuse before. I do have green eyes, though. 😛

But if you pair it with a jewely teal (think peacock), I think it’ll work no matter what the rest of your coloring is.

I have this duo, and have warmer toned skin, but I’m not quite sure how to use it and make it look good. I have attempted a few times, and I always feel like the end result makes me look Halloween-y.
Could you please do a tutorial with this duo to give me some ideas?

Wow. Thanks for posting this 🙂 I am really curious about how this might look on my skin tone (medium olive). I’m always afraid that certain yellows/apple colors may look green on me. This is worth a trip to the NARS counter.

I’d also include works better for lighter skin tones as well. I have tanned skin, and this really does not show as well as it does on your swatch.

I picked this up on sale also and I love it! The lighter color is great for every day and the yellow/green is more subtle in person than in the pix for those who are thinking its really bright!

I’m glad I got this when it was on sale for only $10. (I love when Sephora does this w/ NARS products.) I thought it was pretty unique and I love the quality of everything I’ve tried from NARS.

Cool colours, but it looks like this duo has been discontinued and won’t be around much longer. I’d never seen it before, so I searched the NARS site and it’s in their vintage section.

I truly believe no brand does blush and ligloss better than NARS. But I have yet to see an eyeshadow from them I think is worth buying. Everything seems either so dupe-able or impractical.

I really dislike the packaging of these. I prefer MAC and Urban Decay because they are easily depotted and put into a palette. Other brands like Chanel or Dior are ok because they have a lot of quads or 5-shadow palettes. I feel like eyeshadows should be singles or in a bigger palette. I can’t envision a really good look with just these two colors and I know I would never reach for this because of that.

Three things. First, I hope it’s okay to ask a question so long after the post first went up but I just found your site last week. Second, I am now a huge, huge, HUGE fan! I’ve probably spent hours each day — at the cost of much sleep, lol — going through all your NARS stuff. I was planning on spending a birthday gift card solely on NARS but with so *much* selection across the categories (and some colours looking so similar amongst the blushes and red lipsticks), I didn’t know what to get. (And thanks to you, I’ve now become fascinated with Illamasqua lipsticks as well! It may be the only lipstick brand to make me cheat on my beloved NARs.) Sorry for being so long-winded but did I mention that I’m a huge, huge fan and also, massively in your debt for this incredible site? Thanks to you, I’ve not only picked up my 1st Illamasqua lipsticks but you helped me settle on 4 NARS blushes and another one of their lipsticks as well.

Third, my question as it pertains to this eyeshadow: how does the chartreuse in Wicked compare to that in Rated R? Are they identical? eBay has both for a great price and I can’t decide which one to get. I’m really only buying it for the chartreuse. I’m leaning towards the Rated R because I might get more use out of the blue, but the light shade in Wicked looks really pretty too. Is it barely noticeable on the eye lid? Would you use it more as a highlighter in the center of the lid? My style is usually a very intense dark eye with very bright lips and pale everywhere else. Which eyeshadow would you get? Sorry this is so long but between NARS, Illamasqua and your incredible site, I’m in a tizzy. (And sleepless. LOL).
