I haven´t tried NARS brushes in general and I don´t know if I´m actually weird, but they look scratchy to me. Some look okay but others just seem cheap, however I´m intrested in reading the first reviews so the brushes might surprise me.

Christine, do you know if this includes the Ita brush? I see something like it in one pic but not in the other. From what I know it was discontinued, are they bringing it back?

Joanna Avatar

There were 2 Itas – 21, and 28. Looks like only 21 is making it back, but it’s the one mostly commonly referenced when people ask for the Ita anyway.

#11!!!!! I love to watch Shaaanxo on youtube and she always uses this brush to contour. She absolutely loves this brush, and I love to see the way her contour goes on every time she applies it. She just recently made a video and mentioned this brush and she wished they still had it but they don’t. She mentioned trying to duplicate it since she has her own line of brushes. And now today I’m reading that NARS is coming out with it………..I’m so excited to get this brush!! Can’t wait!!

Almost twenty years ago, I started my brush collection with three of the Trish McEvoy brushes. Then each year, I added one new brush type in spring, and one in fall. They cost a lot, like these do. Good brushes cost big money, a I haven’t found any way around that.

I still have that same brush collection, and still use them most every day. I keep them clean, shaped and upright in a holder. I have never regretted buying them, not for a second. And each day, they are a joy to use.

I think brushes are THE most important component of any individual’s makeup collection. I would love to see a brush round-up story sometime, with brushes ranked!

The new brushes are scheduled to launch on 4/1. It was also communicated that there are production issues with the Ita brush and won’t be in store (I work at Nordstrom) until around the end of May 🙁

The most I’ve spent for brushes are those sigma ones….but I feel like I’m ready to make the plunge haha. I’ve been lemming a new cheek and contour brush for awhile. These look quite nice. Hopefully they are in person.

I have three NARS brushes: the push eyeliner (great for pressing powder eyeshadow unto lash line las an eyeliner- I love using NARS coconut groove), the smudge brush (awesome for smokey eyes and smudging liner) and the Yachiyo Brush (my favourite brush for applying very pigmented blushes and I also use it to apply my highlight. You do need to be careful when washing not to wet the handle etc. I’m afraid it will unravel so I am very cautious).
