Milani Gold Dust Powder Eyeshadow ($4.49 for 0.11 oz.) is a warm gold with orange tones and a frosted, metallic finish. Giorgio Armani #1 is similar, slightly darker. Clarins Enchanted Summer contains a gold that is similar but also a little darker. Dior Couture Gold has a slightly lighter shade. Milani Drenched in Gold is less orange-toned.

The color payoff is decent to good, and it will apply mostly opaque to lid with a little packing of color but not too much is required.  In my use of this shade, what I liked least was the texture, which was on the powdery side with some dryness (it’s quite apparent in the swatch).  I wish it had a better or more binding ingredients, so it would stick together better.  This would make it apply more smoothly, though the powdery texture makes it easy to blend–but there is a little fall out during application, and the color can be sheered out too easily if you are not careful.  It managed eight hours of wear without a primer and only showed some very subtle fading along the inner corner.

They finally got a few of these at my local CVS. They were on a special display (NOT a part of the regular Milani display), and this special display only carried five colors; Pitch Black, White Lie, Purple Shock, Shocking Pink, and Olympian Blue (all mattes). I’m still trying to figure out the logic of designing a special display that carries only five out of 12 shades of a LE product, but whatever. I am still looking for, and want, some of the shimmer shades. These can be ordered online at CVS.com and milanicosmetics.com

Is this new? I haven’t seen this eyeshadow at any of the CVS around me in Chicago. I’ll definitely start looking though bc I missed out on the eyeshadow collection they had earlier this year.

It doesn’t look like pure gold to me in the pan. It’s orangey. The swatch looks different, though. Better. But like you said, there are probably better golds out there that are still budget-proof.

When I was in CVS last night, I looked at these. I’m going to wait until they have a sale and to try a few. IMO, I think 8 hours of wear without a primer is pretty good for a drug store product.

I just wish these were easier to find. We don’t have CVS out here at all, and while my local Walgreens and Fred Meyer both carry Milani they only seem to carry the baked eyeshadows or the Runway eyeshadows, not these 🙁 I’d probably have picked up a few except for that.

I have found them on Milani’s website, but I keep not pressing “Buy” for some reason. Mostly because I don’t want *that* much and it seems a waste to buy two $5 eyeshadows and have them shipped.

That eye look you did….. sweet god above! *faints*. Topic: I’m convinced these Milani eyeshadows are the make-up equivalent of a unicorn.
