Maybelline Khaki Green Define-a-Line
Maybelline Khaki Green Define-a-Line
Maybelline Khaki Green Define-a-Line ($4.49 for 0.01 oz.) is a tarnished olive green with soft gold and green shimmer. Interesting enough, while the black eyeliner in this same formula is too creamy and ends up smudging all over the place on me, Khaki Green stays in place as it should. I wouldn’t even describe it as a creamy formula; it’s smooth enough and glides on without tugging and deposits a good amount of color in a single pass. I wonder if the shimmer causes it to be a “drier” formula and subsequently helps it to adhere to the lash line.
Welcome to Swatch-all-idays! To start 2011 off on the right foot (or post, as it may be!), Temptalia is going through a backlog of products we have photographed, swatched, and often tested but in a slightly different manner. Quick reviews may be partially incomplete, such as a blush may only be swatched on the arm rather than shown on the face. It is our hope that what we are able to provide is still helpful!

I always feel that no matter which brand of pencil eyeliner I tried, the black is always the creamiest. Even for Urban Decay, the darker colours, like Rockstar, Crash or Zero are always more creamy than the lighter colours like Dime, Electric or Honey.
I wonder if it could be because of the properties in darker colours.
seems like a weird color to use on your waterline maybe? a bit like eye snot? 🙂
Christine,
How similar is this to Urban Decay’s stash?
Not as dark!
It is kind of a strange shade…it looks even a touch brassy in the swatch photo.
(pssst…CONGRATS Christine….I’m sure you’ll make a post about it later but I saw already. Yay!) 😉
LOVE that shade! I already have a couple of liners that are similar though!
Love it. Put it in a black gel liner and line the waterline and one is done, if needet and in hurry.
That’s a drugstore liner? :O Looks like a must have for blue eyes. Thanks so much for the review! What a nice cheap thrill it will be.
I bought this in black and I share your pain. It does not stay put more than 60 seconds! So annoying.
I love the khaki green. I have brown eyes, with greenish-gold flecks in them and I think this would work well for me. I very seldom wear eye products due to sensitivity. What do you think of the possiblity that I could tolerate this product, gentleness-wise? Thanks!
it’s the same way with Prestige Total Intensity eyeliners I feel like. The regular black TI totally smudged everywhere on me, but the shimmer shades like Strong Slate stayed REALLY well and is still soft and pigmented.
Ooh it’s so pretty! As soon as I’m done my project 10 pan I’ll be dropping buy my local drugstore 🙂
Oh, man, the black. I used to use it back when I only bought drugstore makeup and eventually learned to detest its lack of longevity. …This is nice though lol.
I loved this colour!!!!!
